I really like the way citizens actually react to Shephard's presence. Some random guy barges into your apparents wearing military clothing and a gasmask, and understandably, everyone is scared. Meanwhile in Hunt Down The Freeman, Mitch just shows up to City 17 without any civilian clothing and nobody bats an eye, not even Civil Protection.

I love how this Mod Covers the 10 Days that Gordon and Alyx were stuck in the Teleport. A perfect way to show the gradual tension and buildup to the Uprising! Would be nice to see Shepard personally ignite that first spark that makes a massive group of Citizens take up arms against the Cps and go on the Attack rather than just merely desperately surviving...
My own personal Canon that I've had in my head for years was that shepherd was the one who trained the citizens how to fight and that perhaps a few other Marines survived black Mesa to be working with the scientists.

After the cancellation of Opposing Force 2, this is the only mod that is keeping Shephard's alive. This mod is literally a masterpiece. Given enough time it could be so much better and make people to create many more mods concerning Adrian Shephard. I cannot express my gratitude over such small words but we could always appreciate what this guy accomplished by recruiting two Half-life voice actors none other than Collete Green and Isaac Kleiner to do voice lines for this mod. I'm hoping there's gonna be more of their involment so that we can feel that unique atmosphere which original Opposing Force has brought. H.E.C.U is one of the greatest aspects of Half-life especially Shephard's involvement which has brought great many things. Wish there were more mods like this.
there is also a Black mesa mod (i think its actually been made by some of the black mesa devs) that is remaking Opposing Force and Blue Shift, so there is another chance for Shepard

This mod should be greatly considered as an alternate ending, too, to the first Opposing Force game. As the G-Man made it clear to him in the beginning of it.
Not to get too far ahead of myself, but the mention of Shepard meeting *"What's left of Race-X"* had me thinking: What if Adrian ends up meeting a Race-X shock trooper later on, but not just any random shock trooper, the same exact one that he used as a *spore launcher* in the original HL:OF game, since the spore launcher is canonically the infant form of a shock trooper, and an idle animation in game shows Shepard petting it. It's a long shot, but maybe it'll remember him and become an ally, a little like Dog in terms of strength and personality?

This mod is already shaping up to be very promising. Good pace, like the voice acting (props to getting Harry S Robins to do that opening line), love the overtly electronic music as a soundtrack to make it feel more like it’s own thing, compared to Half Life’s harder punchier industrial vibes, like all the tweaky things they’ve done with some of the guns, that Desert Eagle kicks ass (although I think they’ve based it around Half Life 2’s revolver, hence the 6 rounds, pretty sure DEs are 7 shot but that’s just nitpicking), the whole vibe of the mod just displays a great deal of competency in getting the feel right. That opening G-Man speech isn’t the best, great to hear JBB’s voice, but the actual wording is a bit weird, like the line about him being in a place he can do no possible harm, or directly referencing other G-Man lines that are for Gordon and such. For example the “this is where I get off” line, why not tweak it a bit and have him say “this is where you get off” considering Adrian is leaving his stasis? Idk…would be cool. All in all though, hope the chap/s making this see it through to the end!
DE's are either 7 or 9, depending on the variant in hand. My headcanon in here would be that it's logical for some people to keep the gun loaded with an almost full mag in order to minimize gun failure (jam, misfire, etc) during firefights.
The voice talent in this mod is exceptional, but the dialogue is just off. Like with the citizen who says "I'm not sure what kind of a crazy man you are, but it's nice to meet someone new." It feels like whoever wrote the script didn't speak english as their first language. It really should have been looked over and edited by someone who did.
I want these to happen if there will be a Half Life: Shepard game. The intro of the game is that Shepard is still in the helicopter realm and he remembers the times that Gman always visited their headquarters and he is always talking to their superiors... and then suddenly, he heard the voices of the combine soldiers and something lighted up like a box and this is the vault that was used to imprison G-Man in Half Life: Alyx .. he heard the voices of the combine soldiers like this "it's him! capture him !" , "we need to capture him at any cost", they are capturing G-Man using the vault and those voices are heard by Shepard in the realm and he see a vague images of the combine soldiers capturing G-man .. and after they locked gman in the vault, there was a small crack or small portal appeared where Shepard was.. because of the G-man's captive , the force that keeping Shepard unable to move has been weakened and Shepard was freed and able to move again and then suddenly multiple portals comes out from every direction in the realm where Shepard is being freeze .. and Shepard was just staring at the small portal near him that came out and thought to approach it and he got absorbed by it and he blocked out ..( like what happened to Freeman when the Resonance cascade happened .. the screen blocked out and then teleported to xen). When Shepard woke up, he first saw the big xen crystal next to him .. and surrounded by people wearing tribal clothing as if they were worshiping or praying in front of the big xen crystal .. the small portal that Shepard entered was going or connected to the big Xen crystal that where it was prayed by the tribe .. Shepard was teleported to the continent that looks like Africa with tribe living in a big cave like a big city and the combine forces can't track them .. this tribe are praying together in front of the big xen crystal.. this tribe tamed the half life 1 aliens and the aliens became their helpers to survive.. just like the Bullsquids they made like horses because their legs are strong and because they also run quite fast and also the houndeyes they are like the dogs and alerting everyone if there's something suspicious entering their place or hideout.. and they also have vortigaunts with them who are also praying in front of the xen crystal.. and when they are all praying altogether, suddenly the big xen crystal lit up and Shepard come out or teleported in there .. they think that Shepard was sent to help them and this will be the adventure of Shepard xD .. (Sorry for my bad English xD) In Africa chapters Shepard will meet some kind of Freedom Fighters and they have with them one of the survivor of the Black Mesa incident and he is Doctor Walter .. and they have also Vortigaunts .. Doctor Walter telling Shepard that he got separated from Dr. Rosenberg , Dr. Simmons and Barney because while they are escaping, the 7 hour war just started... and combine army invaded the Earth . The Tribe and the Freedom Fighters didn't got notice by the combine because the Vortigaunts blocking all signals from outside the continent or outside their territory or headquarter because of that they are safe from combine invasion and the combine thinks that it's just an empty and an already destroyed country or place they just destroyed some of the cities in there .... but in turn because of the signal blocking , they have no idea what's happening outside the continent and they didn't receive any of the message of Dr.Kleiner, Eli and the resistance but after Shepard just got teleported in there , they think that it's time to stop the blocking of signals or whatever signals 🤣 and they think it's time to help the humanity The villains in this Half Life: Shepard game will be these people/monsters: 1. The rival tribe that lives in the forest or maybe in other places on this continent.. they have this kind of ceremony or ritual that they put tamed headcrabs on the head of their people to make them stronger and fast.. they call this ritual "The Bond" or "The Fusion" (hahaha sorry I can't think of a better name for this ritual xD) they are making zombie headcrabs but not actually zombie because the human are still 70% conscious because they tamed these special headcrabs .. after the successful bond of headcrab on the head of the human, the human now will gain abnormal amount of strength and speed that they can jump higher or run faster but their speech is not that clear like they have difficulty in breathing. (Africa continent chapter) 2. Half Life 1 and race X aliens upgraded and enslaved by the combine empire: Like the Gargantua .. they are now shooting lava and the combine modified it's appearance to make it look cool 😎 and also the race X aliens Pit Drone . It's now looks terrifying and run fast now and shoots spikes really fast and it has poison that you will lose your health every second 3. Upgraded Combine soldiers some of them now are using jetpacks with upgraded guns. These combines will appear in the Europe continent chapters 4. One of the high ranking combine advisor or whatever high ranking creature in the form of a human just like G-Man will visit Earth and he will be the final boss of the game .. Combine employer or high ranking officers have been worried because Shepard escaped G-Mans stasis and they are being paranoid that maybe Shepard will sabotage their plans (but they didn't know that G-Man planned this, maybe G-Man will betray the employers?) .. this advisor has a power like G-Man that he opens portals and send you there and he can summon soldiers just by opening door portals to fight you . And he can also send you to other dimension in the past and kill you there by influencing the timeline. In this entire game , you will see a cameos of Gordon Freeman wearing HEV suit.. you know, just like G-Man, that you will see him in a distance in the entire game in different locations and when you see or spot him or go near him he will walk away and he will disappear .. but why Gordon ? Maybe that Gordon is from the future ? And he stole G-Man's power or maybe G-Man gave it to him? G-Man will not be a cameo because he is being imprisoned in the vault but he will only appear in the last scene... And maybe Gordon now is visiting timelines now to influence the past or the events in that timeline? Maybe Gordon, G-Man and the Employers are doing a war of timelines xD hahaha .. and in Europe chapters Shepard will meet Father Grigori .. Shepard will help Grigori to save and rescue civilians .. and they will take their separate ways when they are finally safe and father Grigori telling Shepard that they know a safe town called Ravenholm and father Grigori and other civilians will go there ( maybe in hl2 Father Grigori loses his mind because he sees all of the people he care turning into headcrab zombies and he has no other choice but to kill them) After Shepard defeated the final boss , the final boss is about to explode just like Nihilant when it got defeated by Gordon and the air is cracking near Shepard like it's opening multiple crack portals and it's showing different timelines. In one of this portals, you can see a cameo of the Mystery woman (the woman from HL:A that's talking about moving the box) and also there's a crack portal and you can see a cameo of Chell and also a crack portal with the HECU soldiers fighting the Hl1 aliens in the black Mesa and also a crack portal showing Otis survived the nuclear explosion because he's in some kind of bomb shelter something like that .. maybe some scientists in BlackMesa created a very non destructive shelter like that in case some explosion happens in Black Mesa 🤣... and also a crack portal showing Gordon and Vortigaunts just staring at him .. After you beat the final boss, after all of that portals just appeared, G-Man will appear and he will get Shepard again and he will send himself and Shepard to another dimension.. the G-Man that took Shepard after beating the final boss is one of the G-Man that separated from the original G-Man in the ending of Half Life Alyx (when G-man is talking to young Alyx and he split himself into multiple G-Man in the ending scene of HLA) G-Man will talk to Shepard like this "Corporal Shepard , we meet again arghhhgaghhj (difficult breathing xD) blah blah blah blah" .. like that 🤣 Maybe G-Man will use Shepard against Gordon or to help Gordon ?
This mod could be absolutely amazing. They really should up the limits of hammer like lights, props, and entities for their mod. Hl2 generally is so restrictive and I think this mod will be missing out a lot if they didn’t increase those restrictions. Black Mesa did it and it allowed them to create way more realistic and authentic set pieces. It even allowed them to utilize optimization methods like model culling.
At first I was gonna complain about weapons, but as credits say they're placeholders, so it wouldn't be fair to developers. What I can point out is needless references in dialogues, like G-man's "This is where I get off" line (overused at this point by other mods and HL-related videos), or Kleiner sounding a bit off (well, that could be due to Harry S. Robins' age), or the fact that PCV has voice for some reason (repeating the same mistake as Prospekt, lol) Otherwise devs did a pretty solid job. So weird to hear Corey Cruise in another Source engine game xD

I would have liked it if, as Gordon, we ran into Barney. With Shephard, we could meet Otis. Barney version: - "Now..." *removes mask* "About that beer I owed you. It's me, Gordon, Barney from Black Mesa." The Otis version: - "Now..." *removes mask* "You wouldn't happen to have a spare coin, would you? It's me, Corporal Otis from Black Mesa."
Corporal Shepard continues to fight in city 17, and works with some resistance members. In an ambush, he is knocked out and arrested by CP. Barney Calhune finds him and helps him break out. Almost immediately after, riots begin to break out because Nova Prospect has exploded. Corporal helps coordinate attacks at key combine locations in the city, and blow a bridge (the same one gordon and Alyx come across) to prevent a combine APC column from passing. Striders storm his position. Just before he is about to die, dog comes in destroys a drop ship, and crashes on top of the stider. Gman comes in and stops time, and detains corporal once again, and claims that he is not able to have his "hires" meet as the moment

I gotta admint it is kind of existing to see Adrian Shepard back. I don't know about anyone else but if this fan made expansion is out there means someone else thought the same. It will make a nice twist first he was, as well as Gordon Freeman, also put on stasis by Gman. Then awaking on Half life 2 means he no longer needs to follow his old orders as he represents the last of Earth's military force still wearing his P.C.V. uniform. He can then join the rebels for the fight to freedom and even aid Gordon an team
They should’ve replaced the MP7 with the MP5 as it’s Shephards signature weapon, also add the Foldable Stock on the SPAS 12 over the gun like the HD Pack

The main criticism I have is that the mp7 is chambered in 5.7x28mm FMJ AP rather than 9mm and how the recoil and accuracy is the same. Alongside the fact that Sheperd is a USMC special forces operative. So his accuracy with the pistol should be increased.

thus far the mod is lacking a lot of that flavor stuff from the original but im sure they'll add them by 1.0
Like how in OpFor Shephards mp5 has less recoil so make it so certain weapons handle better with an HECU

That isn't his train. This takes place between nova prospekt and city 17 battles. Gordon has already arrived days ago

This mod is already shaping up to be very promising.
Good pace, like the voice acting (props to getting Harry S Robins to do that opening line), love the overtly electronic music as a soundtrack to make it feel more like it’s own thing, compared to Half Life’s harder punchier industrial vibes, like all the tweaky things they’ve done with some of the guns, that Desert Eagle kicks ass (although I think they’ve based it around Half Life 2’s revolver, hence the 6 rounds, pretty sure DEs are 7 shot but that’s just nitpicking), the whole vibe of the mod just displays a great deal of competency in getting the feel right.
That opening G-Man speech isn’t the best, great to hear JBB’s voice, but the actual wording is a bit weird, like the line about him being in a place he can do no possible harm, or directly referencing other G-Man lines that are for Gordon and such. For example the “this is where I get off” line, why not tweak it a bit and have him say “this is where you get off” considering Adrian is leaving his stasis? Idk…would be cool.
All in all though, hope the chap/s making this see it through to the end!
DE's are either 7 or 9, depending on the variant in hand. My headcanon in here would be that it's logical for some people to keep the gun loaded with an almost full mag in order to minimize gun failure (jam, misfire, etc) during firefights.
The voice talent in this mod is exceptional, but the dialogue is just off. Like with the citizen who says "I'm not sure what kind of a crazy man you are, but it's nice to meet someone new." It feels like whoever wrote the script didn't speak english as their first language. It really should have been looked over and edited by someone who did.
I hope these guys will do their job great and maybe valve pays attention or even buys it and makes actual opposing force 2
I want these to happen if there will be a Half Life: Shepard game.
The intro of the game is that Shepard is still in the helicopter realm and he remembers the times that Gman always visited their headquarters and he is always talking to their superiors... and then suddenly, he heard the voices of the combine soldiers and something lighted up like a box and this is the vault that was used to imprison G-Man in Half Life: Alyx .. he heard the voices of the combine soldiers like this "it's him! capture him !" , "we need to capture him at any cost", they are capturing G-Man using the vault and those voices are heard by Shepard in the realm and he see a vague images of the combine soldiers capturing G-man .. and after they locked gman in the vault, there was a small crack or small portal appeared where Shepard was.. because of the G-man's captive , the force that keeping Shepard unable to move has been weakened and Shepard was freed and able to move again and then suddenly multiple portals comes out from every direction in the realm where Shepard is being freeze .. and Shepard was just staring at the small portal near him that came out and thought to approach it and he got absorbed by it and he blocked out ..( like what happened to Freeman when the Resonance cascade happened .. the screen blocked out and then teleported to xen). When Shepard woke up, he first saw the big xen crystal next to him .. and surrounded by people wearing tribal clothing as if they were worshiping or praying in front of the big xen crystal .. the small portal that Shepard entered was going or connected to the big Xen crystal that where it was prayed by the tribe .. Shepard was teleported to the continent that looks like Africa with tribe living in a big cave like a big city and the combine forces can't track them .. this tribe are praying together in front of the big xen crystal.. this tribe tamed the half life 1 aliens and the aliens became their helpers to survive.. just like the Bullsquids they made like horses because their legs are strong and because they also run quite fast and also the houndeyes they are like the dogs and alerting everyone if there's something suspicious entering their place or hideout.. and they also have vortigaunts with them who are also praying in front of the xen crystal.. and when they are all praying altogether, suddenly the big xen crystal lit up and Shepard come out or teleported in there .. they think that Shepard was sent to help them and this will be the adventure of Shepard xD .. (Sorry for my bad English xD)
In Africa chapters Shepard will meet some kind of Freedom Fighters and they have with them one of the survivor of the Black Mesa incident and he is Doctor Walter .. and they have also Vortigaunts .. Doctor Walter telling Shepard that he got separated from Dr. Rosenberg , Dr. Simmons and Barney because while they are escaping, the 7 hour war just started... and combine army invaded the Earth . The Tribe and the Freedom Fighters didn't got notice by the combine because the Vortigaunts blocking all signals from outside the continent or outside their territory or headquarter because of that they are safe from combine invasion and the combine thinks that it's just an empty and an already destroyed country or place they just destroyed some of the cities in there .... but in turn because of the signal blocking , they have no idea what's happening outside the continent and they didn't receive any of the message of Dr.Kleiner, Eli and the resistance but after Shepard just got teleported in there , they think that it's time to stop the blocking of signals or whatever signals 🤣 and they think it's time to help the humanity
The villains in this Half Life: Shepard game will be these people/monsters:
1. The rival tribe that lives in the forest or maybe in other places on this continent.. they have this kind of ceremony or ritual that they put tamed headcrabs on the head of their people to make them stronger and fast.. they call this ritual "The Bond" or "The Fusion" (hahaha sorry I can't think of a better name for this ritual xD) they are making zombie headcrabs but not actually zombie because the human are still 70% conscious because they tamed these special headcrabs .. after the successful bond of headcrab on the head of the human, the human now will gain abnormal amount of strength and speed that they can jump higher or run faster but their speech is not that clear like they have difficulty in breathing. (Africa continent chapter)
2. Half Life 1 and race X aliens upgraded and enslaved by the combine empire: Like the Gargantua .. they are now shooting lava and the combine modified it's appearance to make it look cool 😎 and also the race X aliens Pit Drone . It's now looks terrifying and run fast now and shoots spikes really fast and it has poison that you will lose your health every second
3. Upgraded Combine soldiers some of them now are using jetpacks with upgraded guns. These combines will appear in the Europe continent chapters
4. One of the high ranking combine advisor or whatever high ranking creature in the form of a human just like G-Man will visit Earth and he will be the final boss of the game .. Combine employer or high ranking officers have been worried because Shepard escaped G-Mans stasis and they are being paranoid that maybe Shepard will sabotage their plans (but they didn't know that G-Man planned this, maybe G-Man will betray the employers?) .. this advisor has a power like G-Man that he opens portals and send you there and he can summon soldiers just by opening door portals to fight you . And he can also send you to other dimension in the past and kill you there by influencing the timeline.
In this entire game , you will see a cameos of Gordon Freeman wearing HEV suit.. you know, just like G-Man, that you will see him in a distance in the entire game in different locations and when you see or spot him or go near him he will walk away and he will disappear .. but why Gordon ? Maybe that Gordon is from the future ? And he stole G-Man's power or maybe G-Man gave it to him? G-Man will not be a cameo because he is being imprisoned in the vault but he will only appear in the last scene... And maybe Gordon now is visiting timelines now to influence the past or the events in that timeline? Maybe Gordon, G-Man and the Employers are doing a war of timelines xD hahaha .. and in Europe chapters Shepard will meet Father Grigori .. Shepard will help Grigori to save and rescue civilians .. and they will take their separate ways when they are finally safe and father Grigori telling Shepard that they know a safe town called Ravenholm and father Grigori and other civilians will go there ( maybe in hl2 Father Grigori loses his mind because he sees all of the people he care turning into headcrab zombies and he has no other choice but to kill them)
After Shepard defeated the final boss , the final boss is about to explode just like Nihilant when it got defeated by Gordon and the air is cracking near Shepard like it's opening multiple crack portals and it's showing different timelines. In one of this portals, you can see a cameo of the Mystery woman (the woman from HL:A that's talking about moving the box) and also there's a crack portal and you can see a cameo of Chell and also a crack portal with the HECU soldiers fighting the Hl1 aliens in the black Mesa and also a crack portal showing Otis survived the nuclear explosion because he's in some kind of bomb shelter something like that .. maybe some scientists in BlackMesa created a very non destructive shelter like that in case some explosion happens in Black Mesa 🤣... and also a crack portal showing Gordon and Vortigaunts just staring at him ..
After you beat the final boss, after all of that portals just appeared, G-Man will appear and he will get Shepard again and he will send himself and Shepard to another dimension.. the G-Man that took Shepard after beating the final boss is one of the G-Man that separated from the original G-Man in the ending of Half Life Alyx (when G-man is talking to young Alyx and he split himself into multiple G-Man in the ending scene of HLA)
G-Man will talk to Shepard like this
"Corporal Shepard , we meet again arghhhgaghhj (difficult breathing xD) blah blah blah blah" .. like that 🤣 Maybe G-Man will use Shepard against Gordon or to help Gordon ?

This mod could be absolutely amazing. They really should up the limits of hammer like lights, props, and entities for their mod. Hl2 generally is so restrictive and I think this mod will be missing out a lot if they didn’t increase those restrictions. Black Mesa did it and it allowed them to create way more realistic and authentic set pieces. It even allowed them to utilize optimization methods like model culling.

At first I was gonna complain about weapons, but as credits say they're placeholders, so it wouldn't be fair to developers.
What I can point out is needless references in dialogues, like G-man's "This is where I get off" line (overused at this point by other mods and HL-related videos), or Kleiner sounding a bit off (well, that could be due to Harry S. Robins' age), or the fact that PCV has voice for some reason (repeating the same mistake as Prospekt, lol)
Otherwise devs did a pretty solid job. So weird to hear Corey Cruise in another Source engine game xD

Corporal Shepard continues to fight in city 17, and works with some resistance members. In an ambush, he is knocked out and arrested by CP. Barney Calhune finds him and helps him break out. Corporal helps coordinate attacks at key combine locations in the city, and blow a bridge (the same one gordon and Alyx come across) to prevent a combine APC column from passing. Striders storm his position. Just before he is about to die, dog comes in destroys a drop ship, and crashes on top of the stider. Gman comes in and stops time, and detains corporal once again, and claims that he is not able to have his "hires" meet as the moment

I gotta admint it is kind of existing to see Adrian Shepard back. I don't know about anyone else but if this fan made expansion is out there means someone else thought the same. It will make a nice twist first he was, as well as Gordon Freeman, also put on stasis by Gman. Then awaking on Half life 2 means he no longer needs to follow his old orders as he represents the last of Earth's military force still wearing his P.C.V. uniform. He can then join the rebels for the fight to freedom and even aid Gordon an team

They should’ve replaced the MP7 with the MP5 as it’s Shephards signature weapon, also add the Foldable Stock on the SPAS 12 over the gun like the HD Pack

We really need Shephard in Half-Life 3
The main criticism I have is that the mp7 is chambered in 5.7x28mm FMJ AP rather than 9mm and how the recoil and accuracy is the same. Alongside the fact that Sheperd is a USMC special forces operative. So his accuracy with the pistol should be increased.
MP7 was chambered in 4.6 if I recall. The P90 used the 5.7
