You are a great teacher. Thanks for
Straight to the point and quick saving this
Another great video Pharraway. This is the most important part of bodywork
Appreciated Sprayway

You the man! Thanks

Fantastic video! I have been painting for 25 years and never did the scotch brite pad trick...Many Thanks!
You're very welcome!
Thank you
Good job
Thanks for the instruction dude 👍
anytime
Nice 👍.
thank you for this video it was very helpful! do you always start at 180 grit when sanding your first coat off? and then work your way up to 400?
God Bless You guys too!!! God needs to help me restore this 81 Toyota truck. I could send pic but I don't think this phone will
I sanded my basecoat with 1000 to smooth it out,, what grit should I use to prep the basecoat before clear coat/ thanks
Hi sir, if the paint has no defect and you just want to change color why not just scuff the clear with maroon scotch brite and then put your new paint on top of that? thx
❤️
Im painting my hood from silver to white,do i have to apply sealer
Hi Pharraway if you are going to paint base with metallics can you go to 600grit from 320 grit and skip 400 grit for final sanding? (no sealer)
Thanks, a useful guide, do you ever use the grey Scotchbrite?
yes but mostly maroon
So if I wanted to re color my si I would start at 180 then go up?
👍
Mines an 81 Toyota truck. Some rust . What do I use to fill that in. Then sand it all for painting. 😁I only paid 600. For the truck
They quoted me 2500..just for top roof..yh right..please send me list of what to get. I'm a female granny auto detailer and I need my truck looking way better for summer earning 👍
This is the most informative video I've seen for what I need to do on my car! The body of my car is in perfect condition, but we want a color change. Do I do the same method by hand when doing the jambs and the areas where the sander can't get? Is there a small air compressor attachment to do the jambs and other tough areas?
I do them by hand
hey great work boss but do i have to follow the steps or can i just sand with 400 then throw sealer
I recommend you to at least start with 320 and then 400 and you will be good
Which 3M double sided tape you recommend for attaching molding? I need to fix the upper edge of the passenger door in Lexus IS250. Thanks.
Any 3m tape works
Thank you so much!!! If I want to put another coat of clear on a 1 year old paint job what sand paper would you recommend? 600 wet? I used ppg 2 stage, just practicing.
you are correct
@@PHARRAWAY thanks!! Great tip using the maroon pad, you are amazing!!
After the 400grit is first the primer before the paint right?
That is correct
I was told you can just use 180 enough to break down the clearcoat and enough to where the new paint can go on top. Is that true or false?
False
Hey homie can I connect with you for some rust remedy advise with sanding and then painting over it?
Yes you can send me an email at pharrawaypaint@gmail.com
Do you have to apply sealer if you're spraying over existing paint?
If your doing bodywork yes if your just sanding with no panels in a different color no you can spray over your existing paint.
greetings, is it possible after 320 priming with 600 water-blasting
yes
@@PHARRAWAY okay thank you
Is this the same procedure for pearl and metalics
yes
@@PHARRAWAY thank you amigo
This applies to a whole primer car also
YES
I thought you used 60 grit to get the paint off then used 120 or 180 to sand the filler then used 220 to sand the primer then use 400 to sand the primer and paint before the clear coat. Sand paper is so confusing.
Thanks!
Really enjoyed your video Pharraway I found it really useful and informative, I've never tried the scotch pads on the DA so I'll give it a go will using that help stop cut throughs on the panel edges as that is something I often have problems with. One other thing why do I get pigtails when using the DA? sometimes they appear a few seconds after using a new disc.
Thanks Pharraway and I've left you a little something for your time👌👏🙏👍 John UK.
@@JohnWD40TC02 first Thank You brother and about the fishtail ya, try using a different brand of sandpaper I have the same problem with cheap sandpaper but what you can do is with a scotch pad pass the sandpaper through it and it will remove the pigtails quick so you can continue sanding.
You are more than welcome it's not much but every little helps👍I've tried the 3M purple, Mirka autonet, Kovax and a cheaper one called Starcke all with varying amounts of success but I'll try cleaning the discs with the scotch pad.
I'm a bit heavy handed so maybe I'm putting to much force on the DA, I use the Mirka 150mm Deros electric with dust extraction, thanks for the help🙏👍
@@JohnWD40TC02 yes that will work
