Good on you for stopping, a bunch of knobs in the cars who didn't there. Terrible drivers are not just limited to cyclists and sometimes they get too much hate. To be fair though, I think the undertone of most people who say cyclists don't stop for reds is not really because they do it any more often than car drivers, it's just that people are frustrated by the lack of enforcement for cyclists. In big cities in NA like Toronto, NYC, SF, etc a cop will see a cyclist blow a light and not even bother (admittedly a lot of time it is food delivery guys), vs always stopping cars when they see them (as they should). Not worth the cop's time I guess, much higher revenue to be made ticketing cars plus the consequences are way lower on a bike, no insurance premiums to raise, no points to take away on a license, etc.
True, but it's not enforced because cyclist red light running causes far less damage than when drivers do it. Also, it's usually the cyclist's own life at risk so what point is there in punishing them?

I don't think you should have stopped there. You ended up stopping past the stop line and there's no way you could have safely stopped before it (aside from anticipating the lights changing, which maybe you could have done). As for the driver, they may well have already passed the stop line, but it's not possible to tell from the video.
nah I stopped before it you just can’t see it the driver had not passed the stop line. they accelerated over the first one on the amber light, then drove over the second on the red light

The high way code says stop on amber if it is safe to do so. It was safe and controlled. Perfect driving.
