Ive got the s20 plus and it took me a while to warm up to the phone after first getting it, but now I don't think I've owned or even used a better phone. Mine is the exynos so I used to be a bit salty about battery, but it only got better with updates not to mention the fast charging really does the trick for me. The camera is great and reliable and I really do love almost everything about this phone! I use goodlock to change a few things like the UI and it keeps the phone fresh! The only minor annoyance I have towards the phone (and it really is quite a non issue) is that due to the chipset, in bright sunlight and during the summer with an average range of temperatures between 88 and 96F, the screen on full brightness dims due to the heat and it doesn't reach its full brightness. However, in winter this does not happen! The screen is sharp and colors are out of this world! 60hz all the way (mainly for resolution)! Great stuff
These videos make so little sense. The S20 is a 2 year old flagship, still superior to 95 percent of all Android phone models sold new today. If getting a good deal of course it's still worth it.
I think at this price you cannot go wrong. An A53 5G at that price range is barley competitive. Camera in the S20 is way better and the snapdragon 865 slaps it around silly. Plus way better screen and you don’t have to worry about the antenna issues the 53 has.
I actually prefer the 64mp crop on the telephotos as it enables me to see things farther than dedicated fixed resolutions telephoto lens do. I dont think anyone would use a telephoto lens for photography that much as it mainly is for utility in seeing things farther away and the 64mp crop enables you to do that for farther distances. And also, the reverse wireless charging helps a lot when your earbuds go low on battery. Had it useful in a lot of cases. Make sure that you take these things into context of people actually using them instead of just basing them only on your own experiences.
I still use my s20+ and it’s been a breeze. The battery was an issue for most people, but i use it on 90hz and it’s been not bad. I get about 4 hours on a single charge and I charge it twice a day. The performance has been great tho I don’t play games. Overheating can be a an issue when using the camera but mostly it’s manageable. The cameras are one of the best I have ever used! Takes solid photos and my friend has the s21 ultra and sometimes the shots from my s20+ look better thanks to the 12 mp sensor. I got it on sale for about $450 in 2020 December and it was the best deal ever.
Is it still worth getting now? I'm not rich. I had an A6 for about 4 years, and it's not great. Need a long overdue upgrade . This seems reasonably priced compared to the S23. Do I get the S20?
i bought one at launch. and i hated it. for the first few month it was great. but after that it started to lag a lot. shutter lag is also way worse after a few motnh. not only on the 64mp lens. im happy with my 13 pro max right know ;)
Suprisingly my s9 with 845 SD still rocking in 2023 😅. Still better performance than few new smartphones models. The disadvantage in Only the battery capacity. Planning to upgrade to s20 later
The snapdragon version might be working great after 2 years but i use the exynos 990 version s20+ and that performs like a budget android. Thermal throttling is common and the phone lags even just scrolling the home screen. Can’t recommend the exynos version.
lol I have one, and that doesnt even happen. Its a bit of cap coming from you. I have the 990 and while its slower than the 865, its still is a flagship processor and performs like one. And for your information, both the 990 and 865 are made by Samsung and the Tensor is based on the upgraded 990 model called the 2100. Software upgrades did a lot to level off the throttling caused by the 990 and it handles all of my games well without any hiccups.
I respectfully disagree I have the exynos 990 Works great for me. Deffinately does not work as a budget phone. Yes it does heat up. But lag whilst scrolling na man that's just exaggeration.
I've had an S10e for the last 2 years. I don't really see the need to get the newest phone since, as you mentioned, the features are similar. I was honestly going to just get another S10 or S10e since the cost of changing the screen myself was more than the phone itself. I really like the s10e size. However, checking the prices I found I could get a refurbished S20 from Amazon for $200. I've been using my work XCover pro this week and the S20 is .1 smaller. It sucks not being able to text one handed to be honest on the larger phones but I've gotten somewhat used to it. On the S10e, I could text/type one handed. I've got pretty big hands and I can almost do it on the XCover. I'm hoping that .1" is enough to make a difference there. I was going to get a S21 but the SD card, lack of apparent differences, and price made that decision for me.
I have this phone and the s22 ultra and I'm using the s20 right now because I like switching between a big phone and a small one and this thing is still amazing
Had my S20 for 3 years now. Been looking to replace it and all the newest phone don't seem to match up. The only one that blows the s20 out of the water is the Oneplus 10 and 11. Unfortunately Oneplus doesn't offer financing so I'll wait and see what the s24 will have to offer. Beside some minor screen burn, my s20 is still going strong.
I have the S20 FE which is amazing! The back camera is amazing but the front camera is very very zoomed compared to other phones which can suck if trying to take pictures with multiple people. Also when on zoom or FaceTime it's almost to close up to just hold.
S20+ user here. After the recent software update , a lot of vertical greenline issue is encountered by the users. Not recommending at all! Updated last 9/25, issue encountered 10/7.
s20 has huge DISPLAY greenline issue , thats the problem once the display greenline there is no coming back , repair costs more than the device price now :)
just switched from s20 couple days ago to s22 plus. honestly dont see s22 plus as much of an upgrade, arguably has worse screen due to resolution and i miss being able to change the screens resolution. only problem i had with my own s20 was that the battery had became very very bad at holding charge and the adhesive attaching the back of the phone had became weak causing the back to come off on its own either via overheating or expanding battery. another thing which could very well be exclusive to me was that calls would randomly cut out and i wouldnt be able to send or receive texts for random periods of time. i imagine this is a network issue although i brought it to my provider 3 times and they could not fix the issue, i even changed sim and the issues still persisted. I am now using that same sim in my s22 plus and have had none of the aforementioned issues.
It's hard to keep Samsung phones past the new model release. You're at the mercy of Samsung and the kill updates. My S21 Ultra was perfect... Until the May security patch update.
lol, updates makes things better. updates made things better for my friend’s S21 Ultra camera. The S21 still is perfect even with the updates and updates are important. Apple is the one making kill updates
I don't know about the S20 but the S20+ and S20 ultra is plagued with issues that the its price in the used market is now very low in my country. So yeah beware picking it up imo. We have 2 units of S20+ both with issues.
Mine has a green line going from one side to the other on the screen, power button falling off and trash battery (expected for a 2,5 years old phone since i bought kt) . But the other two defects are absurd to happen in a high end phone bought new not that long ago
mine in the same color is still amazing it has an insane amount of ram that surpasses even modern flagships, it has 120hz refresh rate decent cameras, a micro SD slot, wireless power sharing, 5G (extended range only). My issues are just like every Samsung amoled a pretty bad amount of screen burn in and mediocre battery life.

I have the s20+ and the s22U. I've been taking side by side photos with both. In a lot of instances you can't tell them a part.
how do you use 90Hz ???
Theres only option for 60 and 120
@@navaneethp360 there is an app called s20 refresh control which can make your device run at 96hz
As always, his reviews are very well done.
Is it still worth getting now? I'm not rich. I had an A6 for about 4 years, and it's not great. Need a long overdue upgrade . This seems reasonably priced compared to the S23. Do I get the S20?
You going to review the pixel 6a?
Yup! It's in my hand right now!
This phone does not feel like a 2 year old phone this runs just as good as the newest Samsung phones released today. I have the 8gb ram 128gb version
How is the battery life doing?
S20!!! I m still using s10 and s10 plus and they work like charm
Most boring Samsung phone design. S10 series looks better in my opinion
i bought one at launch. and i hated it. for the first few month it was great. but after that it started to lag a lot. shutter lag is also way worse after a few motnh. not only on the 64mp lens.
im happy with my 13 pro max right know ;)
I switched from s22 to iPhone 13pro!!!
are you sure you bought a samsung galaxy s20 and not a Welcome S30 ULTRA Pro
It’s worth it, trust me, cam great, good size, snappy processor. Awesome split screen windowed feature
Wonder how many more years will pass before Samsung ever figures out the camera shutter lag problem.
By now it's a feature
Suprisingly my s9 with 845 SD still rocking in 2023 😅. Still better performance than few new smartphones models. The disadvantage in Only the battery capacity. Planning to upgrade to s20 later
what? why didn't you talk about lidar? It was dropped, but is it still as usable as say iphone's ongoing lidar? -_-
I'm looking for this video very badly everywhere and now i have your take on it is the icing on the cake 🙏😍
Should I exchange my Oneplus 8t with the S20 ?
Shouldn't we also be talking about software updates and security support?
Can you make video on s20fe next?
One with Snapdragon.
2:28
where are those guys ? we wanna see it
i havent found any
Thank you! Could you also make a video on S20FE?
You are right. I used the Exynos S20 plus and had the same problems. Now I have the Snapdragon S20 FE and none of those issues exists ever again
I respectfully disagree I have the exynos 990
Works great for me. Deffinately does not work as a budget phone. Yes it does heat up. But lag whilst scrolling na man that's just exaggeration.
Been using s20 exynos variant for 2 years so far no lag noticed.
A little exaggerated but yes, overrall doesn't feel like it's worth the money i paid and i find it pretty shitty having the exynos version
still using the S20+, and it works well and no complaints here.
Some s20 phones have display issues 😢 after update
I used the s4 for like 8 years or more, still have an s4 though I must say it is a bit slow now 😂
Here in India we only get the exynos version of older samsungs which to me is a dealbreaker
It’s worse than cancer!
I was going to get a S21 but the SD card, lack of apparent differences, and price made that decision for me.
do not buy s20 series, i repeat do not... it has a display issue. green line issues and white screen.
Totally!!! Amazing phone. Had since summer of 2020. Very solid!!! I am. Using it u til it dies. It Is a Great Phone!!
I have this phone and the s22 ultra and I'm using the s20 right now because I like switching between a big phone and a small one and this thing is still amazing
So now a 2 yr old Samsung phone is the sweet spot to buy? Didn't Apple users claim Samsung phone's lag after 3 months?
Had my S20 for 3 years now. Been looking to replace it and all the newest phone don't seem to match up. The only one that blows the s20 out of the water is the Oneplus 10 and 11. Unfortunately Oneplus doesn't offer financing so I'll wait and see what the s24 will have to offer.
Beside some minor screen burn, my s20 is still going strong.
Just got my dad a brand new S20 FE for $400. Very good phone for the price.
I have the S20 FE which is amazing! The back camera is amazing but the front camera is very very zoomed compared to other phones which can suck if trying to take pictures with multiple people. Also when on zoom or FaceTime it's almost to close up to just hold.
Hello I plan on getting it but does it still get all the cool updates? I’ve seen some pretty cool things in the S22 😅😂
anyone have any comments on the screen failure i.e. green/white bands of the s20 series? seems to be quite a number of cases online.
S20 plus
S20+ user here. After the recent software update , a lot of vertical greenline issue is encountered by the users. Not recommending at all! Updated last 9/25, issue encountered 10/7.
s20 has huge DISPLAY greenline issue , thats the problem
once the display greenline there is no coming back , repair costs more than the device price now :)
My note20U is still wonderful but the battery sucks, I've had to turn off 120Hz to make ot thru a day and it does so a little weak but gets there
just switched from s20 couple days ago to s22 plus. honestly dont see s22 plus as much of an upgrade, arguably has worse screen due to resolution and i miss being able to change the screens resolution. only problem i had with my own s20 was that the battery had became very very bad at holding charge and the adhesive attaching the back of the phone had became weak causing the back to come off on its own either via overheating or expanding battery. another thing which could very well be exclusive to me was that calls would randomly cut out and i wouldnt be able to send or receive texts for random periods of time. i imagine this is a network issue although i brought it to my provider 3 times and they could not fix the issue, i even changed sim and the issues still persisted. I am now using that same sim in my s22 plus and have had none of the aforementioned issues.
Is it the exynos version?
@@mhcrx4413 my s20 was exynos, my s22 plus is snapdragon.
I love the wallpaper on the phone, can you show me where to download it
It's hard to keep Samsung phones past the new model release.
Performance/software gets a 3 from me.. ive using it since release and some updates ruin the phone some make it better..
I want one really badly but I refused to buy a phone if it’s not brand new
This is all I can say. If it is Snapdragon yes it is worth it. If it is exynos pls don't mind buying one. Exynos is the worst chipset.
I wanna buy one but i am concerned about the battery life
I don't know about the S20 but the S20+ and S20 ultra is plagued with issues that the its price in the used market is now very low in my country.
So yeah beware picking it up imo.
We have 2 units of S20+ both with issues.
As something who just got the S10 plus on the 4th of this month now looking to grab this
Today i Brought Demo Set in 177 dollar and im really happy with the camera, photo and video. and its feel comfortable to hold in hand
Mine has a green line going from one side to the other on the screen, power button falling off and trash battery (expected for a 2,5 years old phone since i bought kt) . But the other two defects are absurd to happen in a high end phone bought new not that long ago
Sir did you encounter any issue in s20 series. Like the green or pink line after updating it to android 12.?
Any recommendations on a pixel phone of the similar year/price before I buy this. It looks excellent. Also, amazing review mate!!!
mine in the same color is still amazing it has an insane amount of ram that surpasses even modern flagships, it has 120hz refresh rate decent cameras, a micro SD slot, wireless power sharing, 5G (extended range only). My issues are just like every Samsung amoled a pretty bad amount of screen burn in and mediocre battery life.
How much hours you get on battery life
Luv from Canada great vid 😁
Just bought my S20 Ultra on the Black Friday sale for $360 +tax.
It's certified renewed, but at just over 25 cents on the dollar I couldn't be happier.
Was so satisfied with my purchase I also bought the same phone for my wife.
Do the OnePlus 8 Pro next! Awesome design and colour, probably my favorite phone design ever
I'm not teach savvy sadly, but one of the features I love in my Realme X2 Pro is the stabilisation of video and photos. Is this a feature of the S20 also?
HOW ABOUT NOW AT $180 HAD TO GET ME 1 LBVS NICE REVIEW 🎉🎉
Picture quality is less than average my Samsung S5 takes better pictures than this. I don't understand it.
your model must of been defective or something
I just whent from my Google pixel 4xl to the oneplus 8 pro, it is insanely good value right now, and you should take a look at it in 2022 as a tech rewind video
A roll shots looks quite sharpen 🤔🤔
Please tell me where can i get one of those 911's?
What brand is it?
Maybe the FE version
Hi could you do a revisit of the one plus 9 pro? It was crucified on launch but since the price has gone extremely down. I think it's a very good bargain. Thoughts?
You sai samsung s20 color is decent ?
Thank you for this Great review🤝
Help!!
what to choose?
Samsung A54 8gb ram 256gb ( 436€) or Samsung S20Fe 6gb ram 128gb (432€) ???
I'm trying to decide between the S20 FE for $309 open box and the S20 Ultra for $489 brand new overstock. Is the camera on the Ultra worth the extra $180?
Hi... mind sharing where you found those buying options?
@@nickypeters8187 eBay.
@@stoptheinsanity buy the ultra not 4 the camera but 4 the battery size...its way bigger than how long my cojones can spray water when my wife finger rubbing it forever🤣🤣trust me you wont regret it🤣🤣
I prefer the S20. I found the FE too large for my use.
What kind of screen-on-time are you guys getting on OneUI 5.0/5.1? How does it compare to the previous versions? I'm getting 9h sot on Android 10 and I'm afraid to update.
Just snagged one refurbished on ebay for about $100 (very minor screen artifact/burn). Hoping it tests out okay.
Is there any difference in battery life or performance in 5g models?
I got the galaxy s10 still awesome but I'm thinking of upgrading to the s23 ultra is this a good upgrade when in comes out?
I upgraded from my S8 to this s20 last week. And for me personally this is a beast of a phone even in 2022. Screen, camera, sound quality, software, performance all of these have been incredible. The only valid complain can be made in regards to the battery, while its not super bad, it's not great either unlike the rest of the phone.
You can just replace the original battery to a bigger
I'm about to upgrade from Pixel 3XL to S20fe.. hoping I'll be happy. Don't do too much surfing/social media or games.. just want a decent android phone.
@@Tv1s_s how do you go about this ?
@@pinche_mansana_s I mean u can help from am technician person
and it has a micro sd card support up to 1TB😍😍😍😍
After some years of usage, is that android phone getting laggy or not?
I'm taking consideration on the lagging problem that usually happened on Android the longer you use it, should i choose samsung s20+ or iphone xs. I Need a help
Wallpaper is amazing, what app can i get such wallpapers from?
