Aww kiddo , you'll always be that girl . And yeah you knew what you were getting yourself into with TikTok . But as you internet dad I figured I'd offer my two cents just because
I don't mean to freak you out, but have you had your house checked for black mold (or any mold really) by chance? When you mentioned that electronics tend to break easily around you, it set off a red flag for me...I had the same thing happening to me for years, then ultimately found out that the house I was living in at the time had black mold in the ventilation system...Apparently the body's reaction to mold toxicity can make use super charged with static electricity, which then causes our electronics to short out far more often than they should...
I'm not your target demographic (45yo, fat white guy with 2kids, 2dogs, 2cats) Your vids just popped up on my timeline and you are a very compelling person. You should be a tv presenter or something... I click you videos and always end up watching the whole thing even when the topic is of no interest to me. Anyway, keep up the good work and your cat is cute.
I used to know someone who dreamed of being at work all day, dreamt this every night. She also had an issue where her legs wouldnt switch off during sleep. She was very exhausted, all the time... :/
I would like to watch you use your non-dominate hand for everything for a week because that is the kind of random shenanigan I've come to expect from this channel. (Also I broke my hand and found out it's harder than you'd think and I've been trying to be ambidextrous for years, so...hard).
Left handed people usually have a slight advantage at that challenge. That is because so much in our world is made for right handed people (and taught by and for the right hand) that many (including myself) adapt a bit at least and learn stuff with their right hand as well. Kinda cool actually, i.e. I crochet, brush teeth, use my phone and throw stuff (like balls) (almost) exclusively with my right hand. And I write, sew or cut vegetables with my left. And some things like drinking or eating I can do with both anyway. When I was younger I wrote with my right hand for fun sometimes and it's okay I can write like a first or second grader with my right; it's just rather slow compared to my left. Yeah i dunno just wanted to tell you that cause I think it's pretty cool and studies also show that left handers are (because of the right hand normativity lul) more likely to adapt and have a smaller gap between the skills and abilities of their right and left hand.
The trend I heard of first and much prefer is being “The Main Character”. Feels healthier to me, because I’ve read books and seen movies that have main characters that are diverse and unique and multifaceted. Being The Main Character comes off with more focus on fulfilling your fantasies and making yourself the priority.
Dude same, but mine's combined adhd anxiety and depression which means I have to to everything all of the time never. There's no way I could accomplish "that girl"
I've started just sitting out in a chair in the sun every morning I can and just absorbing the sun and it makes me feel so much better. I notice such a difference on the days I work morning shifts and cant do my photosynthesis time. I highly recommend
100% valid!! That’s part of the reason why I didn’t let the overly aesthetic part of this routine control my daily routine. Sometimes, a glow up is not pretty and perfect - sometimes it’s hanging your clothes to dry or filling ya gob with sushi. I like to look at “that” girl as this reminder to look after myself and put in motion today, things I’ll be grateful for tomorrow 💗
There’s nothing wrong with trying to be “that girl” if your goal is to try to add in more healthy habits and find a good work/life balance. I think the ultimate goal is just to be more present in your life. It’s not about being a certain weight or body type, etc. it’s about working towards being the you that you want to be. I spend 30-40 minutes everyday practicing the guitar. That’s part of my “being the best version of me”. I work out at least 3-4 days a week. Because I feel better, physically and mentally, when I do. That’s MY thing. It doesn’t have to be YOUR thing.
You should re do this when you go back to uni. I feel like the difficulty to do all of this will be completely different when you have deadlines and naps between lectures 😂 lush video as always!
I feel this!!! I've tried to keep up with healthy habits, but consistency is so hard when you don't have enough time to get everything done. Personally, I've switched to a checklist in my notes app of things that make me feel healthy and happy, it restarts every 1-2 weeks (depending on my progress) and I try to check as many off as possible 😊
I feel like these routines have been around for ages, I remember seeing them in infographics on pinterest when I was in high school and wanting to be "that girl" so bad. It really does just boil down to understanding that NO ONE acts like this every single day of their lives! Sure, there will be some days you get up early, do your meditation, work out, eat well, be productive all in one day - but there will be vastly more where you just do a couple of those things in a day. And that's great! I think life in general is all about balance, and it's healthier in the long run to be patient enough with yourself to build these things as habits little by little so that you truly ENJOY doing them and they aren't just bulletpoints on a checklist. That's the reality of "that girl," you CAN become her, she just looks like whatever you look like when you are living your happiest, healthiest, most balanced life :)
Absolutely agree. Self care is something that should be prioritised but it shouldn't feel like a chore. If you try to be perfect you will always fall short and never feel happy. Aim for excellence and allow yourself to have a bad day, we all have them. xx
just realizing that your subtitles / closed captions are incredibly accurate and detailed a lot of the time, thank you so much for putting effort into that, as someone with serious audio processing issues I appreciate it a lot!
I do get that feeling. Mainly because when I have to get up early, my brain likes to form dreams about me waking up and being productive. And I've believed it multiple times. Then I actually wake up an hour too late.
the best way ive figured out how to care for myself is just being kinder to myself. working out regularly, eating healthier, and drinking more water help, but at the end of the day, loving myself and cutting myself slack always makes me feel better
I’m not gonna lie, I may delete tiktok. I’ve been watching way too many of those “that girl videos” and always tried to implement most of the things in those videos however I work 40 hours a week and felt extremely jealous when I couldn’t fit any of the fun things in that they get to do like hiking swimming and surfing and had a mini break down 😂 I felt like I wasn’t fitting enough in even though I wake up at 5 a.m. No one is responsible for my emotional well-being aside from myself but idk, might be time to take a little step back lmao
Lately I’ve took on the habit of waking up early (and going to bed early, an essential step in this habit!) and reading in the morning. I often manage to read 45 minutes to an hour in the morning before leaving to work at 8. This helps me stay calm and concentrate on my tasks as well as relaxes me and makes me excited to wake up. I have never thought “that girl” trend is good, but now that you put it that way, I can see the good intentions behind all the imagery that isnt that healthy. And in fact, I have greatly enjoyed part of this trend myself, and it truly has made me happier.
A side note following your comment about how you prefer eating while working (tw[?] for eating disorder): I absolutely agree, but for me it's because I'm in ED recovery, so it really helps to not have to think about every bite of food I eat. I find it helps distract from urges to not eat, as well as getting me away from the kitchen to prevent binging. :)
Honestly, you’re one of the best UA-camrs I’ve ever watched. So underrated. You’re amazing! This channel is funny, charming, emotional, educational… it’s just perfect honestly
Your version of "That Girl" video is so refreshing and enjoyable to watch BECAUSE you included things like hanging up your wet clothes ^__^. I absolutely understand your excitement for a new dry rack. The houseware section at the store is my happy place 🥰
I've had dreams where I got up before my alarm, got ready, loved the way my outfit and makeup looked and was in a great mood for the day only for me to wake up and realize I slept through my alarm and I am instead running late.
I really like the way in interpreted this whole thing. Thank you for the good content. It always seems so glamorous to be 'that girl' but sometimes it just means get your sh*t together and hang up your clothes and stuff like that.
something i picked up doing is putting sticky notes on my wall with questions like : have you eaten today? are you hydrated? have you been active? hygiene? and a list of things i can do if i feel bored, or that maybe i haven't been productive enough that day
Thank you for saying that it is not reality, it is like, you know it but you don’t deeply believe it. You remembered me that nobody is perfect but everyone is beautiful with their insecurities ✨
Such a fucking stunner.. love you queen I've felt like I have been through alot of the same stuff as you and I appreciate knowing I'm not the only one ❤️❤️

I just wanted to thank you for making these videos and sharing your experiences with us. I have had many bad days and honestly you have brightened my dark days. You make a difference...
Mmmm after that quarantine fresh are is EVERYTHING!. I had a rough night the night before last and I took a 10 min. yoga session then a 2 hour recovery nap. (I never take naps) and yes I know how lucky I was to get to recover in that way when feeling unwell. Not everyone can do that. But even those that can do it with guilt. Point is. We all (including myself) need to let go of feeling guilty for taking care of our body. Hugs!
I just came across your channel today & have gone down a 2 hour long rabbit hole. Haha! I'm saving videos to watch later so I don't forget them so that I can watch another of your video recommendations. I just want to say that I'm highly impressed! Not only do you try out all of these different things & stay completely committed to finishing- you also provide quite a bit of knowledge also. Not to mention your funny as hell! Keep it up!
I don’t usually comment a lot but watching this actually helped me to apply this to my life, and could definitely help with other things I’m going through right now so thank you!
I used to get overwhelmed and kick myself for not having finished more of my do list even after having a very productive day. A few months ago I pivoted into a 3 goals a day. 1. A household upkeep/improvement goal - example: laundry, dinner, cleaning 2. A self improvement goal -example: skillshare, working out, learning Italian 3. A work goal - example: finish a project at work, fix a problem with a script, etc I find myself feeling more accomplished, productive and not putting off personal health, household, and self improvement on the back burner to get more work done anymore. I feel like "That girl" has some things in common with the well rounded, taking care of yourself vibe as you've approached it.
In the US, Marlo Thomas starred in a TV show called "That Girl". So to me "that girl" has always been defined as a smart but somewhat misguided person who gets herself in hilarious situations when involved in misunderstandings from trying to be helpful and jumping to conclusions. She was always happy and had a boyfriend who loved her and the dad who loved her. Marlo Thomas is the daughter of Danny Thomas.
I guess you could say I was caught up in this trend long before it ever became a thing. I would even call it “that girl” sometimes and tbh it really messed me up. My propensity for this kind of thinking is what brought me to the impossibly high standards that I set for myself which, yes, manifested itself as an eating disorder a few years later but that’s another story. I think the problem with the concept of that girl is you have a fake personification of what you consider success, perfection or “the right way of being”. It’s even worse than comparing yourself to others, because there is no limit to what you can tell yourself “that girl” would do and be. Nearly a decade after throwing away the idea of this hypothetical “that girl”, I’m looking at the things that people list or consider “that girl” and I do most of them at least on a semi regular basis. But I only was able to implement these sorts of healthy habits and behaviors once I realized that this mindset, this vague metaphor was something that was hurting me and my brain. I’m not saying don’t participate in the trend if it makes you happy and helps you live a better life. That’s cool and all. But if you’re looking at this content and it’s causing you to burn out on things you think you should be doing, consider dropping it. You don’t get a lot out of striving to be that girl. You only get better by striving to be a better, kinder version of yourself. That kindness needs to be turned inward first, before you push so hard on output.
It makes me so happy that your eating my fav sushi! Waitrose is the bomb for sushi! I've lived in Bath my whole life and didn't know about society cafe :)
I started the whole cold shower thing and I love it. I’m one of those people who enjoys the burn when working out and for me it’s the same kinda thing so I get like pumped up when getting in and I stay under the water the whole time. It’s right at about the 9-10 day mark I stoped getting the I don’t know what to call it when you get in and it’s hard to breathe under the water.
❤️❤️❤️ I am also that girl that melts her Tupperware. I love the concept of watching anime as self care. I love “IT Girl” as an abstract. I loved everything about this video. It’s perfect!
If it makes you feel any better, while I was in the US I mixed up a toaster oven and a microwave and melted the tupperware while the food remained cold. My host mom made fun of me for days...
Those exercises looks similar to what I did back in the 90s. There's a book called "30 days to a beautiful bottom". Coming from a flat-bottomed lady, I can assure you that it works!
so cute you get up early at 7:30 to be that girl. I am an early bird and if I want to get stuff done I get up at 3:30 ;-) unfortunately I am not "that" girl in any other aspect....
16:25 I actually ha been trying thys for the past year and from time to time i just drop off, but the thing is that the treshold rises every time i restart after that drop and its easier to catch so its an overhall improvment over time
I am not really on tiktok. I don't use my phone as much as a lot of people do because I just don't think about it. I have art and other things to do LOL. So I had no idea I was doing a few that girl things anyway. Not all of them.... because, for one, waking up at 7:30am has never once helped me feel happier~ and for another, I am not successful. But I am alive, and that's a good enough start.
Careful of that 'am I awake or am I still dreaming' thing. I once went mad from having a disease (5 years in remission now) that made me wonder that a lot and also if my thoughts were so loud that other people could hear them. That was...er, fun.
Also, if you genuinely question that multiple times a day, to the point where it becomes somewhat habitual, its a great way to bring on lucid dreaming after about a week.
4:02 That's a Renaissance picture right there. On a side note, have you thought of making a video about training Atlas to do tricks or something like that?

I love that even when you are being ‘that girl” you are still absolutely yourself! …Also I love the most adorable Atlas! 😻😻😻😻😻😻xx
Another video already? Yay 😄
We needs a “Romanticizing my day” video if you’ve seen that trend! ;)
You've had a really productive day, it's so inspiring.
Me: has to do a bunch of stuff for uni tomorrow morning
Also me: watches ellbat and every youtube video late at night
It makes me so happy that your eating my fav sushi! Waitrose is the bomb for sushi! I've lived in Bath my whole life and didn't know about society cafe :)
I started the whole cold shower thing and I love it. I’m one of those people who enjoys the burn when working out and for me it’s the same kinda thing so I get like pumped up when getting in and I stay under the water the whole time. It’s right at about the 9-10 day mark I stoped getting the I don’t know what to call it when you get in and it’s hard to breathe under the water.
Watching this to help me get motivated to have a productive day ✨
Yeassssss I rewatched Shadow and Bone as soon as I finished binging it, it’s just that good
Honestly I’m so unhealthily obsessed with it 😭😭
Thank you for helping us all become that girl 🥰
I always appreciate the good vibes.
❤️❤️❤️ I am also that girl that melts her Tupperware. I love the concept of watching anime as self care. I love “IT Girl” as an abstract. I loved everything about this video. It’s perfect!
OMG your kitten is absolutely beautiful !!
You are so authentic and funny. I love being a subscriber! Keep up being you and no one else! ❤️
I love this video, thank you so much for having this healthy take on the challenge, it was really encouraging.
How the hell does a human do more than one thing in a day 😭. Even if it’s short and easy, my brain doesn’t let me do more than one thing
If it makes you feel any better, while I was in the US I mixed up a toaster oven and a microwave and melted the tupperware while the food remained cold. My host mom made fun of me for days...
Ive been waiting for someone to this video and your exactly who i wanted it to be
the cat is soo cute!!
Thanks Queen! Happy Pride x
Those exercises looks similar to what I did back in the 90s. There's a book called "30 days to a beautiful bottom". Coming from a flat-bottomed lady, I can assure you that it works!
elbaat you should do a podcast, I could hear your voice for hours and hours and no matter what topic you're talking about
so cute you get up early at 7:30 to be that girl.
Okay so the natural light in your abode is divine. Number one is play with the cat, always.
4:02 That's a Renaissance picture right there. On a side note, have you thought of making a video about training Atlas to do tricks or something like that?
