Thank you for this video. It will be helpful for my practice. I'm a guitarist player, but I've just learnt playing violin and especially irish/celtic music because I love this music. This technique shall be very helpful to learn jigs or reel's. Nevertheless I guess this technique should not be appropriate for classic music but I don't mind 🙂, it's not what I wanna learn. Thanks again !
Suggesting a tune to practice with is helpful. Also this seems to be related to 'figure 8 bowing' which I've been practicing, but with less arm movement....
Not to belabor the point, but the finer points I'm getting from were not expected. I was holding my arm too low, the wrist flex was not right, and by using my web cam and going back and forth between it and Lauren I can see quickly what I'm doing right or wrong. Also experimented, and for me Cluck Old Hen is a good tune to practice this technique.
Hey, I just watched this too! So. It's because you are making a circular motion with the wrist. The elbow should be mostly stationary. The wrist rolls in a kind of circular way to reposition the bow when alternating between the strings.

Thanks for watching :)
Thank you for this tutorial. Working on Arkansas Traveller and this could be a game changer. I’ll be practicing this.
Yes, that’d be a great one to practice this with!
Before you even mentioned it I was thinking this will really help with Devil's Dream.
Thank you for a great video!
You are welcome, John! Thank you!

What does this have to do with a circle?
