Objective? This is all extremely speculative, we don't know what Putin knows or doesn't know and whether he is serious or not about using nuclear missiles, we simply have no clue. These so called experts speculate constantly and when the say something that sounds comforting people suddenly agree with them.

Putin knows there is no threat to Russia. He's trying to create a false threat to save his own skin, his job.
He doesn't care if there is not a threat to Russia, all he cares about is winning the war after he made the poor decision to start it.
If he doesn't win, he is in serious trouble.
So he has to win and the only way he can secure extra resources to have any chance at some kind of victory is to create a false threat from the West.

Ukraine makes a point of dispersing its military units, so it is difficult to see how there is any legitimate military tactical advantage for Russia to use battlefield nuclear weapons. To quote Walter Sobchak "Look, without a hostage, there is no ransom. That's what ransom is." Putin is a cowardly small man with a really sick reading of history whispered into his ear by Duggin and they are going to fail in a HUGE way.

    • @nerdyali4154

Dugin has NOTHING to do with Putin's worldview. Putin is influenced by other writers and Dugin is just a useful barking dog with a reputation in the West as "Putin's brain". Dugin is probably becoming very inconvenient to Putin right now with his hardline rhetoric and it's not impossible that his daughter was killed as a warning.

So if Russia is going to claim that parts of Ukraine are actually Russian territory, would Russia be willing to use nuclear weapons on its own claimed territory there?
That would render their claim of it's being their own territory patently absurd.
Who nukes one's own territory? This isn't the prelude of the Hunger Games.

The question is, How far is the west willing to push him to see? His claim earlier was that NATO and Washington have plans in the works to invade the Russian mainland.
