These kind of vídeos are the best!! Like, the full analysis on a game saying step by step what could be the best option to do, and analyzing each decision one is making! This helped me a lot and theses concepts I'm gonna try to apply to its full potential. One thing I already stopped doing and after that I gained literally 1k mmr for, is complaining at my supports, I just mute them or whatever and try to do what they're supposed to do, this helped me a lot, especially on muting, cause then I don't lose my head. Bro this is super extensive and insightful. Been playing since 2017 and stuck in the trenches. I'm back after a 2 year break. This kinds content will for sure help the climb. Well done bro!
Great video as always. Something I'd like to add: At lower ranks, it's best to play heroes who are self-sustaining either at laning (ursa, mk, meepo, ck) or at farming (pl, luna, sven). This is because your support doesn't know how to contest, when to block camps, when to contest lotus, when and when not to pull. Your offlaner doesn't always pick a good hero that synergizes with your safelane pick. Your mid laner isn't watching the map and counter ganks. The thing is, picking anti mage at 3k makes the game harder because neither the supports, nor the midlaner or the offlaner know how to play with an AM in the team. It eventually leads to a 25 minute stomp where everyone is blaming each other. Picking self-sustaining heroes like ursa, for instance ensures your lane (in most cases) will go stomping, especially against cheese picks like timber/bb/axe/LC since they are melee. Secondly, such heroes are much faster to get online and contribute to teamfights. But obviously, the most amount of learning comes by playing bad matchups and knowing how to come back in the game.

You know what the AM player will think seeing this video? It's that paindota is just nitpicking at his "negligible" lane mistakes and not criticizing the mistakes his team made, that's how AM's mind will try to protect his ego. Sad reality is, these mistakes is what's keeping him at his rank. Dota isn't as simple as getting x item for x hero, looking at the end game screen and wondering why you still lost despite all the items you have at the end.
at 21:25 A tip someone told me for creepwave timers is that you can look at your own wave and the opponent wave will be just about there on their side. AM could see his own sidelane waves are just behind his tier 2 so he can know thats where the enemies are as well.

It's a great video and great analysis as always! Thanks for putting such content out! Just to note that what you are mentioning is mostly based on an "ideal" scenario where you actually have roles and picks corresponding to those roles. I bet you haven't played a lot in lower brackets, but, in my opinion, there should not even have designated roles as reporting someone for "role abuse" has literally no consequence. If reporting someone for role abuse meant that they could not queue with that role for the next 10-20+ games, then it would actually mean something. In the majority of games (at least in my experience) there aren't pos 2 and pos 3, the game has three pos 1, something like necro/morph mid and abba/wk/necro pos 3 that they are afk farming and competing for the limited safe farm on the map. I wish that there were channels (like Dota 1 Bnet/IRC/GGC) that you could actually play in a controlled environment where rules and reports actually made the experience playing the game better and you could practice/play the game as it is intended. Sure you can party with four random players, but still!

I disagree that you have to always buy cornucopia on every bf-buying hero. In most cases (except am) i prefer dmg to farm faster then have more regen, especially when i have side forests with hp/mana regen if im forced to farm there

what if there is no sentry to buy to unblock ourselves. You can't emphatize us because you are not experiencing same with 2k carries. They cant even buy sentries most of the time...
ALRIGHT GUYS HERES WHAT I LEARNED INCASE I FORGOR LANING STAGE: AGGRO FOR THE LOVE OF GOD JUST AGGRO EVEN I AS A 1,315 MMR CAN DO IT PROPERLY AGGROS: Aggro to secure cs, you can also aggro it to your tower if the lane is unplayable If the lane is good or decent you may be able to push the wave right around 2 mins to get the lotus If the lane is bad and you cant have the lotus cause you cant for some reasons the stop trying to get it basically try to secure cs and stay alive Mid game to late game : THE TIME YOU SHOULD HAVE MAELSTORM OR BATTLEFURY RIGHT AROUND 15 MIN Split pushing is the key for his team when forced tp you can either kill the one who tp if a killable support and if a carry tp's you can tp to def and win a fight This also goes for losing game If you have the item that comes after bkb you can solo rs Cutting creeps on a lane that your enemy is trying to push so that they cant push (i just learned this just by watching this video) In teamfights you should watch pain dota's video on teamfights
Bro i stay in 3k mmr for 2 years. I swear 99.9% of carry dont go for Wand and branches when facing BB or any hero. This guy is exceptional😂 id expect this Itemization from crusader or a drunk person
The biggest problem with the game are the players, not the game itself, overblown ego and everyone thinks that he is better than he actually is when in reality only a small percentage can really grasp the basics of drafting, laining, item timing etc, the esiest way to cope is to blame others. Also most play to win not to get better just for shiny new medal or virtual points that dont have anything to do wit with your actual skill.
Because it heals you more. Let's say you have 400hp with branches and wand heals flat 100. You drop the branches that lowers your flat overall hp. Now you have let's say 300 HP without them. You heal more flat hp then u add the hp multiplier (branches that give +1 strength) and have that extra hp already healed up. 100/300 > 100/400 . Hope it made sense.
i really dont get how am is in that rank, i cant get out of guardian and this guy makes me cringe, and i dont feel like i have ever encountered a "smurf", the hardest games usually go straight into fighting from laning phase and end early because the other team has incredible coordination then it feel like the whole team are smurfs, but those are rare, its a team game your team can lose you the game easily when they just suck because they are so easy to bait, not even miracle can carry feeding trash
Only Heralds doesn't understand creep aggro, Guardians/Crusaders/Archons just know what aggro means and they aggro creeps horribly, Legends actually knows how to aggro creep wave once, but they don't understand that they should do aggro multiple times for a single creep wave into a tower, ancients knows creep aggro almost perfectly but they are bad at trading hits with enemy heroes while aggroing, kinda similar what legend players do. Also Legend players doesn't buy smoke for some weird reason, just a reminder... 🙂
which region is this from? how is the 3k bracket in this region so clueless? 3k is suppose to be for people who already knows basics like creep pulling and lane equalization. both sides were playing bad and equally clueless about creeps aggro because non of them did it.
@@kausarmeutuwah8304 damn. I'm 1.7k in SEA too but I rarely lane or support someone who's this clueless. I'm playing against people whos a lot better than this guy - not always, but there certainly are players who knows what they are doing, at least in the early game. xD
Why do low mmr cores think they should never buy obs and sentries??? It's Insane how many crusaders cry about supports not buying wards when it's 50 gold.
Hi there. Great content. I’m a casual player, mostly playing turbo 95% of the time and 5% rank. Do you know why am I(Legend ll)playing against Ancients and Divines in turbo games?
Tell me how do you win when your team have 3 carries; luna pos 5 (farming jungle from start) spectre pos 3 (tower hug all the time) drow pos 1 (get bullied in lane) and u're playing pos 4?
Don't try to win every game try to win 6 in 10 match that is 500mmr in 100 match which is 5000mmr in 1000 match. If your team is losing you don't lose your shit keep punching your enemies back 24/7, even your throne is falling buyback to the game to take one enemy out with you. I play to beat my enemies instead of winning mmr. That mentality is how I started winning from guardian 5 to legend 4 and I am still climbing slowly.
The single biggest thing that traps players in the trenches is a distinct inability to LEARN FROM BETTER PLAYERS. Most trash dota players play like shxt, learn nothing EVERY game, and constantly blame teammates. Ive seen so many matches thrown in the dumpster because someone wants to build their fav items they get EVERY game instead of just listening to a teammate say 'get X item, it hard counters Y'. Then when you tell people to get back they dont. They dont have the resources to push a tower but they still force it anyways, stupid shxt like that. Most players at this level are genuinely probably just really fxcking dxmb people. If you want to learn / get better at dota you have to pull your head out and actually try to be a TEAMMATE. Hard concepts for some, even at up to 10k games. Ive seen some insane profiles recently. Always awful players who are the most toxic. I look their profile, 5 to 10k matches played and somefxckinghow they have ZERO MVPs. Today my teammate had 2400 wins, 5000 matches, 0 MVPs and only 600 commends. HOW?? OFC he got shxt items, didnt listen to team, blamed team, AND fed all game.
eh. so many points are easy to make, laning phase, the mirana peformed VERY low harrass. She is ranged? Knowing about creep timings? While AM is LH under tower, Mirana just soaking xp - GO contest the BIG camp pull. Sure, room for improvement for AM but it's a team game and Mirana is laning like a 1k.
dota is like chess. the beauty of its infinite depth is so damn overwhelming, but it makes you feel like the worst idiot on earth, once you made the obvious blunder and saw it immediately.
This guy is cooked, four of your team will die and enemy team will end game in a low mmr pub, this shit works in five men stacks or high mmr and even in those games executing it takes amazing amount of skill
trust me i knew all about it but i want to know about aggro concept like i prss on enemy hero but sometime creeps will not come to me and also they just come to me for 1 or 2 sec and just back to again creep waves this is i hate things xd. anyhow it's a good video very informative i use this tech many time nd i got 5 slots items in 28 min as a safe laner
1:30 what the fuck are u talking about he did't ask who he will lane against or what he should buy he is asking wtf can he do with 4 trolls in his team that refuse to win
I dont think thats what the video was about AM pick wasnt bad and neither was his team its just that his fundamentals of the game, are not allowing him to climb im sure he's a fine player but him not recognizing where his faults lie and blaming his team instead of watching his replay and owning up to his mistakes he will never be able to climb higher. Dota is a complicated game and only if you are willing to take the time to learn and get better will you ever improve
dota is very very complex, a 5k player will see 3k as complete garbage, and 8k player will see 6k player as trash. theres no end to it. legend is the worst bracket to be in. its the deepest trench to get out of.
Used to thought the same, I was around 5k years ago then stopped playing as low Ancient and restarted as Legend 3. Then I was in Archon for almost a year afterward due to 9 lost games after recalibration , then got Legend I in January now Legend V. I can tell Legend was much toxic couple of years ago, Archon is far worse. In Legend it lesser happens that people fight all the time without any awaraness and never reset fights also in 50% of the games supports stack ancients which -as I remember- almost never has happened years ago. The general mistake people make is they're keep picking silencer and pudge supports and they feed constanly and for sure they max hook instead of flesh heap first even after 0-4, sometimes not even putting one point on it. And for sure the 0 stun and non-synergy lineups are pain in the ass if you are not pos 1-2 who are picking last. I saw an old team mate who hasn't played for more than 5 years and restarted playing somewhere end of 2023 and climbed from herald 4 to archon V 4 months, this week I saw he's Archon IV again and I checked his recent games and his team was full of feeders in many games. I'm not saying he hasn't made any mistakes I'm saying that upper Legend has way lesser feeders than Archon. TLDR: Legend is trash tier but it's way better than Archon.
@@goodboy0087 dota has evolved in the couple of years, before you could use smurf heroes to stomp the game. now that powercreep/ items / neutral items, the amount of gold per kills and double glyphs make it hard for anyone to completely stomp the game on their own. so u still need your team, puck cant solo win the game no matter how farmed he is, storm and ember too. in legend people are mostly dumb but they know how to play after they get their items, this makes it hard to close the game, in archon u can solo win and close the game on your own cause they are too dumb to do anything in dota. legend is where people start to improve in some aspects. which results in higher ego, and hard headedness, this is why i think its the deepest trench in dota. i came from legend 1 to divine3 in 2 yrs.
He literally stated so many things Am could've done better and you still blame it on another player. No accountability, that's the number 1 reason people stay in the trash brackets they are in

AGGROS: Aggro to secure cs, you can also aggro it to your tower if the lane is unplayable
If the lane is good or decent you may be able to push the wave right around 2 mins to get the lotus
If the lane is bad and you cant have the lotus cause you cant for some reasons the stop trying to get it
basically try to secure cs and stay alive
Mid game to late game : THE TIME YOU SHOULD HAVE MAELSTORM OR BATTLEFURY RIGHT AROUND 15 MIN
Split pushing is the key for his team when forced tp you can either kill the one who tp if a killable support and if a carry tp's you can tp to def and win a fight
This also goes for losing game
If you have the item that comes after bkb you can solo rs
Cutting creeps on a lane that your enemy is trying to push so that they cant push (i just learned this just by watching this video)
In teamfights you should watch pain dota's video on teamfights
used to be archon, after watching ur videos i became legend in 1 week
I just applied some of the advices and won a game as AM. My second game as AM 2-0.
Dud, this is so frustrating to watch this guy type "go end" when he griefs so fucking hard. Cant believe this is an archon pos 1 player
Bro i stay in 3k mmr for 2 years. I swear 99.9% of carry dont go for Wand and branches when facing BB or any hero. This guy is exceptional😂 id expect this Itemization from crusader or a drunk person
LoL, Dude found 148 mistakes in 34 minutes game. So sad for this AM :D
This really helped i played 2 am games after this and got 2 wins with 2 mvps
How to do when I play 10 games..9 game my enemy mid level 11 my mid still 8..and score 0-8
if you're 3k and start with those items on AM.. u do not deserve to be even 1k.. this not even 1k mentality
Great video man, really good advice! Also, I really want toxic people like this AM flamed to the maximum 😂
Can someone explain why you drop the branch and then use wand?
Because it heals you more. Let's say you have 400hp with branches and wand heals flat 100. You drop the branches that lowers your flat overall hp. Now you have let's say 300 HP without them. You heal more flat hp then u add the hp multiplier (branches that give +1 strength) and have that extra hp already healed up.
100/300 > 100/400 . Hope it made sense.
@@doryuzhenx6763 Thanks makes sense now.
i really dont get how am is in that rank, i cant get out of guardian and this guy makes me cringe, and i dont feel like i have ever encountered a "smurf", the hardest games usually go straight into fighting from laning phase and end early because the other team has incredible coordination then it feel like the whole team are smurfs, but those are rare, its a team game your team can lose you the game easily when they just suck because they are so easy to bait, not even miracle can carry feeding trash
The problem is worst when you only play support
Me with 10 hours of dota okay.
Pain knew this guy was gonna die 10 seconds before he did everytime 😂😂😂
Bro ur just best coach😅❤
What region is this? Why 3k dont know creep aggro😂
surely not sea, skillgap too high for 3k
Even guardians at sea know creep aggro lol
Only Heralds doesn't understand creep aggro, Guardians/Crusaders/Archons just know what aggro means and they aggro creeps horribly, Legends actually knows how to aggro creep wave once, but they don't understand that they should do aggro multiple times for a single creep wave into a tower, ancients knows creep aggro almost perfectly but they are bad at trading hits with enemy heroes while aggroing, kinda similar what legend players do. Also Legend players doesn't buy smoke for some weird reason, just a reminder... 🙂
This is most likely NA server. Here in NA even some Ancient players have 2 braincells
I have learned not to expect too much on low elo games. Just do it.
which region is this from? how is the 3k bracket in this region so clueless?
3k is suppose to be for people who already knows basics like creep pulling and lane equalization.
both sides were playing bad and equally clueless about creeps aggro because non of them did it.
@@kausarmeutuwah8304 damn. I'm 1.7k in SEA too but I rarely lane or support someone who's this clueless. I'm playing against people whos a lot better than this guy - not always, but there certainly are players who knows what they are doing, at least in the early game. xD
Why do low mmr cores think they should never buy obs and sentries??? It's Insane how many crusaders cry about supports not buying wards when it's 50 gold.
great content, now I understand I should blame myself more XD
How to carry a off lane that died 15 times and says safe lane noob
Hi there. Great content. I’m a casual player, mostly playing turbo 95% of the time and 5% rank.
Do you know why am I(Legend ll)playing against Ancients and Divines in turbo games?
maybe your skillset is within ancient or divine bracket.
Turbo games contribute to hidden mmr. If youre doing well theres a good chance u will face higher ranked players in unranked games
@@elmagnificow8494 Nice insight bro
What region is this? This guy realy in legend? Fuxk im in herald
Tell me how do you win when your team have 3 carries; luna pos 5 (farming jungle from start) spectre pos 3 (tower hug all the time) drow pos 1 (get bullied in lane) and u're playing pos 4?
You cant win but you can play better each time and eventually you will be in a team with players as good if not better than you..
You cant win, move on and go next. Become better to get out of your mmr bracket so you'll no longer get teammates like that
The single biggest thing that traps players in the trenches is a distinct inability to LEARN FROM BETTER PLAYERS.
Mirana had some errors true, but damn this AM is horrible at laning.
Bro we are same medal but skills are different. That medal belongs to crusader bracket if he plays in sea server
39:10 - 39:40 also gained 1k gold just by split pushing
eh. so many points are easy to make, laning phase, the mirana peformed VERY low harrass. She is ranged? Knowing about creep timings? While AM is LH under tower, Mirana just soaking xp - GO contest the BIG camp pull. Sure, room for improvement for AM but it's a team game and Mirana is laning like a 1k.
this video is brilliant
dota is like chess. the beauty of its infinite depth is so damn overwhelming, but it makes you feel like the worst idiot on earth, once you made the obvious blunder and saw it immediately.
aah thanks man but i do everything still i am stuck at 4k i dont know how to get out of this legend5 i badly wanna go to ancient
i thought legend players already know laning basics
lets be real its usually the teammates fault in lower mmr. rarely soimeone understands dota
I feel hurt. It must be true
lol... I should probably get a coaching session.
This guy is cooked, four of your team will die and enemy team will end game in a low mmr pub, this shit works in five men stacks or high mmr and even in those games executing it takes amazing amount of skill
trust me i knew all about it but i want to know about aggro concept like i prss on enemy hero but sometime creeps will not come to me and also they just come to me for 1 or 2 sec and just back to again creep waves this is i hate things xd. anyhow it's a good video very informative i use this tech many time nd i got 5 slots items in 28 min as a safe laner
you shall never buy recipe in early game untill you have free slots
4:50 meanwhile at 2.6K russian orcs on EU server don't use any info they just go unga bunga.
no way this guys a 3k mmr player.. this guy is a guardian
also, notice that this guy is attacking Bristle Back at the back instead of his front LOL
I hate those toxic players, that says "go end" but keep trying to play the game. What's the meaning of saying it? It doesn't help anybody at all.
jeezz you are like PhD in dota man..
Can u do video for offlaner?
1:30 what the fuck are u talking about he did't ask who he will lane against or what he should buy he is asking wtf can he do with 4 trolls in his team that refuse to win
He can buy quel blade when bounty pick up
Why even pick AM at 3k mmr and below? That hero is shit esp. if you dont have proper team and facing against a strong offlane.
I'd like to see a similar video with a less terrible player as the focus
If you are picking anti mage and you don’t have battle fury by 17 minutes ofc you are gonna lose
We all know everything's u said is true but the games with supports dying 40 times in 30 min are hard to win
dota is very very complex, a 5k player will see 3k as complete garbage, and 8k player will see 6k player as trash. theres no end to it. legend is the worst bracket to be in. its the deepest trench to get out of.
TLDR:
Legend is trash tier but it's way better than Archon.
No way this is 3k mmr the guy definitely boosted. The only people whom ive seen started at magic wind with 2 branch are below archon….
Ursa and AM, 3k confirmed because I am 3k
i'm stuck in 1k mmr for 3 years wtf am i doing wrong!?
ursa off is the real reason he lost XD
He literally stated so many things Am could've done better and you still blame it on another player. No accountability, that's the number 1 reason people stay in the trash brackets they are in
