Just found this! I have as a Scotsman living in Turkey I visit Italy twice a year Bologna my base but from there all of Italy accessible. Learned some Italian and just love to wander around looking at art, museums and vintage markets and stores. Recently retired now planning trips every two months.
Interestingly I was talking with my daughter, who lives alone and travels alone, and realised that I had never done either 😮 So, starting small, I went away for 1 night to see an exhibition that I wanted to see, that my husband wasn’t interested in. A whole month alone in a city where you cannot speak the language is something else! Brava. I shall explore your course…
So nice to meet you here Jane. I have followed you with interest as we have much in common. I too am Scottish, lived in Italy many years and have auto immune disease. Now living in Australia with my two sons, husband and grandchildren. As a Counselor, I am particularly interested in self-care , I write..a lot! And travelled extensively with my husband ( usually to visit Family & friends) and having led a busy life, discover that I made little time for ‘me’. I love that you found time to rediscover and make readjustments to your lifestyle that gives you added vitality. Being intentional about what makes one happy is essential to a life well lived, sounds like you are living your best life, go for it! Thankyou. M💐
La Bella Napoli … you will love it! Lived close by for three years! Do walk The path of the Gods on Amalfi coast (but not in summer!). It’s tremendous and our 'go to' Boxing Day hike.
❤Such a lovely video Jane. Safe journey. You will fall in love with Italy and it's people! I always travelled and lived in different countries. But when I became a wheelchair user, I suddenly did find travelling very daunting, so I went in hermit mode for a while. Now nothing faces me, I have been stuck in a plane as they lost my chair, stuck in Paris as the lifts didn't work in the trainstation where I arrived and stuck in Rome in the underground. It is one big adventure ❤
Looking forward to the updates from Napoli! Was just looking at frescoes and tiling from Herculaneum this morning, online, thinking how wonderful to get there one day. Enjoy your time there! So much inspiration.
How wonderful Jane, so inspirational too, I’m a bit of a hermit myself and can’t imagine having the courage to do this! A beautiful area to go to too, I have been to Sorrento in the past. ( not on my own though! 💗👏🌟

Thanks Carla. It’s a beautiful area x
Well, now that I’ve worked my way backwards 🙃 I see you’ve mentioned Herculaneum & Pompeii. But also noted you mentioned scissors 😆
The scissors were very important! 😂
I admire your courage! And your dresses. And scarf. Where do you source your dresses from?
Thank you. Most of my dresses are vintage Toast (a UK brand), bought on EBay or Vinted. X
The scarf is knitted from wool dyed with plants from my garden. X
@@snapdragonlife Thanks. I like your style....
@@snapdragonlife Oh Jane! You are dangerous to know! I have just spent £200 on Toast items from Vinted....
Going for one month is a visit.
😂😂😂 probably very true, but not in terms of UA-cam titles!
