Amanda, so sorry you’ve been ill and hope you are on the mend. Your filming, Lincoln’s drone shots, the music selections are just excellent…your home is lovely. The walled garden is especially beautiful this year. Glad none of the kitties escaped and hope no bat is making a home in the chateau! ❤❤

Suggestion: Do a rubbing (on paper) of the fireplace backing in your daughter's room. It's not hard to do and, if it turns out nice, you can frame it and hang it somewhere. Look for rubbings for relief sculpture for ideas.

My mother in law had a plum tree ( she lived in Switzerland). She would freeze her pitted plums and then in winter stew them slightly and put them on ice cream she had added cinnamon to. In the winter this was a great dessert, I enjoyed it every time.

I hope you feel better quickly. It's always a drag when you should be relaxing, aren't, and sickness forces you to--not the same as a true vacation. I love the wood paneling in your daughter's bedroom. Have you thought of just paining the wood itself the same green as the walls? Old painted wood paneling is so lovely.

So glad that you are feeling well enough to film and edit again. I was getting concerned that something catastrophic might have happened in the cottage! Not that Covid does not feel pretty catastrophic to us when we are in its grip! Hope you will feel GOOD when it's time to travel and will have a marvelous time with family and friends in the U S. Really interesting about the history of your property. I hope as you find interesting things about it you share that. I'd love to see what the old chateau was like. Your garden is doing really well. I've wondered if peaches can really be grown up here, I don't recall seeing any in my part of Normandy. Your daughters bedroom is going to look so nice when finished as the bones are beautiful. I woke up in the middle of the night several years ago to my ceiling fan going at top speed, then in my half asleep state I remembered that I don’t have a ceiling fan!!! It was a bat, yikes. I grabbed my phone and locked myself in the closet, called my son to come over and rescue me. He was able to catch the bat, set it free and free me from the closet. He said”Mom, it’s only a little bat!” I probably overreacted but it’s nice having your son come to your rescue and I made him an early breakfast!!! ❤❤❤

The chateau's (and old chateau's) history is so interesting. I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the locations .... So the old chateau was pretty much right next door to the present chateau, and it closed off the fourth side of the secure square of buildings? The old gate and carriage entrance are fascinating! You said you thought they were wooden doors, but might they have been iron? Imagining the owners holed up in their chateau/buildings/small courtyard, trying to survive on their walled garden produce and worrying about invasion from without -- that makes the heart flutter! I hope you're all better soon. Safe travels!

I'm so glad u r feeling better. Covid sucks big time. I had covid just before Christmas, got it from my 5½yr old granddaughter. She brought it home from daycare. It was not fun ❤

Lining paper is a great idea😊 may I suggest that you paper it from top to bottom, then length ways. I know it will be a lot of work but covering the wood that way should make it look much better. Take care and hope that you all are feeling much, much better 😊.x
