General tip: You almost never want to run double primary weapons. Special weapons are significantly more powerful, so you're missing out on damage output (especially burst damage for tougher-than-average-but-not-boss-level enemies) by not using one. So if your main weapon is Graviton Lance, there's probably no point in keeping an auto rifle equipped alongside it rather than a fusion rifle, shotgun, sniper rifle, etc. Also, when an enemy has an elemental shield you'll find your energy weapons more effective than kinetic at first, whether they're primary or special ammo weapons.
@@dpatriot4130I usually run with a distance PR, SR, AR. Close range a Shottie or handcannon (although sidearms can be great) and then heavy. Depending on mods and artifact.
I'd say run what your comfortable with, I often run douple primary and am normally top 2 dps in raids, sure there are times I run special, even double special but for best part run what suits your playstyle.
@@dpatriot4130 Another general tip, when jumping, remember there is falldamage, so if you jump from high up, don't doublejump too earlie otherwise you may die.
I remember how huge that first area seemed the first time. When you know it you realize it is like 30 seconds to get around all of it. Bungie are wery good at those tight map designs.
Yeah it seems so huge. I tried it solo first time, no prior knowledge of it at all and think I wasted an hour or so there. I honestly thought the Dungeon was done there. Still haven’t memorized the symbols but can easy clear it just by running around and watching the radar.

@@bibleotakuAgreed, burst glide is by far the best jump on warlock, affords you the best movement in majority of the game, air control and air time is literally irrelevant 99% of the time, and as the other comment said, strafe is best for heat rises and dawnblade because bungie messed with the jump mechanics a while back to balance burst glide

They used to light up to see where to deposit, but I think Bungie messed up something in the code and now they don’t even light up, which I don’t like.

New sub here my man. It's nice to see another fellow new light enjoying this game as much as I am. I've only been playing this game for 2 months and regret not trying and falling in love with this game earlier
Going in blind to dungeons and exotic missions is absolute pinnacle destiny fun for me. Btw those 9 and 10 min runs you were seeing were most likely checkpoint clears. People have been farming the boss for candy. Not that this dungeon can’t be done by speedrunners in that time but that’s my guess.
No way people need 9 minutes on a single checkpoint and bragging about it online xD. Check for speedruns Shattered Throne, there are multiple under 3 minutes.
As far as how its possible to do it under 10 mins, there are movement tech and some out of bound bypassing. In the 1st area woth the Labyrinth Architects, you can drop beneath the area from the outside and follow the vertical shaft down. Get to a certain spot, die, and you'll respawn inside the corridor. Same way with the orge boss, there is another out of bounds path that goes above the arena, allowing you to get past it. However, every area needs to be completed in order for the last boss to spawn. So 1 guy stays behind in each area to complete each encounter. Last guy just goes to the final boss. For movement tech, its known as skating, and require a sword with the perk Eager Edge, which increases lunge distance. The principle behind skating is animation canceling your sword swing, but still keep the momentum from it. Titans have to spend a super to use, if you mess up on Warlock you use up your Well. Hunter just use an air dodge on Stasis that recovers in 5 seconds, so its easiest for them. If done right, each traversal section can be done in less than 1 min, probably 30 seconds if optimized.
Was following your progress on this one. Throw me a meaaage when and if you get into the complicated stuff and need some backup. Edit, following you in game that is. We had fun seeing how many runs we could get in while you were still doing this one. You did good :)
Hey, a friendly tip from one warlock to another. I would advise you to use your glide at the end of a fall so you wotn get damaged. If you want to go the extra step, you could activate glide for a short time and then press jump to cancel it again, to then activate it before you hit the ground. This way you cover alot of ground while still not taking fall damage. You'll get a feel for it once you use it also in a speedrun it is basically jsut the running part, the bosses only take seconds
You did great in your first dungeon, the biggest boss is gravity, and someday we get to see you do your first raid. Now that will be your first real test. Keep it up friend.

So good to see you running it mostly blind. I find the routes and mechanics embed in your mind better that way. Happy to be a hand in any dungeons or raids and only offer help or a hint when you ask for it. AX Apollo#5328
That’s actually the easiest dungeon. A tip btw. Run a solar primary weapon when running a solar subclass to get the full benefits
Thanks for the advice!
Your Warlock is going to need major leg surgery 🤣
@@NonAbidingDude 😂😂😂 hysterical comment!
poggersss
love the first dungeon experience but i feel like your sherpa didnt give you any clue when you guys were stuck and also just didnt explain anything he did. he did most off the boss mechanics alone without letting you know what he was doing. but im happy that you enjoyed it. Dungeons are pinnacle Destiny 2 experience. The best content in the game. even better than raids because you can solo them if you dont have anyone on. Best experience is SOLO FLAWLESS a dungeon. that feeling you get after doing that solo without dying once is very nice. Specially your first ever solo flawless. you HAVE to do one dungeon flawless. Not even an option.
During the dungeon we had multiple connection issues which were obviously cut out, the timezone difference by time we reconnected it was 3am for me (hence why Brad also wasn’t there for dul), I done exactly what I was asked to under the circumstances, and did explain the mechanics to both of them during the time the connections were strained, don’t be so quick to judge, granted in exactly the same comment complaining about how bad I done for doing some of the mechanics your advising him to try a solo flawless dungeon after taking an hour to clear this in a fireteam so your clearly not the brightest…
Can you please use cover 😂
Good call out 🙃
Combatant power is 2009 because you are 2009 and you killed yourself with your gl
Ok, I’m 1972 I think.
@dpatriot4130 did your teammate lift you to 2009? When playing fireteam activities everyone is lifted to 5 below the highest member of the team
Platforming on a warlock.
