I’ve had my 17L for about 5 years now. Absolutely adore this pistol. Just slapped some good sights on it and called it good. Prolly about 10k rounds through it atm
I elected putting the Dovetail Innovations adapter plate on my generation two Glock 17L prior to the Glock Store coming out with their similar one The Dovetail Adaptive plate puts the rear sight in front of the optic. This is similar to the Glock Store's Combat MOS cut out that they do. I will be ordering a plate from the Glock Store to compare the two types. Lenny: Thank you for pointing out the deep cuts in the 17L, as I never thought about that.
Those relief cuts look like they could make a difference in handling. As a gun enthusiast, I appreciate the innovation, but I wonder if sacrificing the option for an optic cut might limit customization possibilities for some shooters.
The 17L has been made since before anyone ever heard of putting an optic on a pistol... Not so much a sacrifice, as the design is older than the trend.
Can you offer the 10 Day optic milling where you can drop it off with an appointment to mill the slide that same or following day pick-up. Instead of shipping off the slide?
Sorry Charlie, no Mr Magoo optics for the G17L Listen to this man. Stop whining, stop rumours. Add a green fiber optic front sight with a black serrated rear sight. 🎯 Bullseye time ✌️🎯
it's a shame they didn't include an optic cut option. Would've been a great addition for those of us who prefer to customize our setups for better aiming precision.
just an update for people with gen3 g24, mine DOES NOT have the cut outs in the rear of the slide and can inFACT be cut for optics. i have a g24 so im not bs'n
Hi Lenny, first Thxs for all the videos you post. It’s extremely helpful. My dream would be a long slide in the 48 size. I wonder how it would look and handle? The 17l Love the g48 Thx
This is a very, very informative video. I did not know this! I’ve wanted a 17L for quite a while. Looks like it’ll have the dovetail mount for a 507 Comp.
I'm not sure I understand about the Glock 41. I have factory MOS version of that gun with a holosun mounted with the same old plate system you'd find on any other MOS Glock. Can you explain further?
The difference is he's talking about milling a gun out, and you're talking about a gun that came from the factory already cut... The slides are not the same.
A 34 is not a 17L, 24, 40, or 41... The slides are not the same between any of the gen3/gen4 guns he mentioned, and a gen 5 34 (that has nothing to do with anything he said). And the gen 5 34 slide isn't even "very similar" to a 17L or 24 gen 3, or gen 4 40 and 41.
I hope they make it... but... It's been 15 years since "gen 4" became available... And you still can't get a 17L in anything but gen 3. With such low production numbers, I doubt they will ever release a gen 5mos version of the 17L. They've talked about it for years, also talked about bringing the 24 back, and making a carbine.
What do you think of the Glock 17L? There's a rumor they're about to release a Gen 5 MOS version soon...
Hope to see it.
Yes please!
Moist
I saw it on Lipsey’s on the FFL side and the normal buyer side
Have a Gen 3 17L and a 24c. Love them.

You know I don’t even give a crap about stuff like this but Lennie is such a compelling speaker and salesman I watched it anyway. 😂
Awesome. Lenny sporting a Glock mat. I never knew the 17L and 41 had those cuts but makes sense.

G17L was invented way before optics. Move along now to a pistol intended for optics.
Just sent my slide in today!!
Part of the reason Glock slides suck. Zaffiri precision all the way
I have a G17L and a G24, and thankfully, I have zero interest in mounting optics on my handguns.
your best bet for a red dot for the glock 17l is the leupold deltapoint micro
Lenny is the MAN!
17L sending them hot
Why not just add more window cuts or ports along the front parts of the slide to reduce the weight? 🤷🏾♂️
17L is one of my favorite. That longer barrel.
seems adding the weight of an optic would make the slide to heavy to cycle 9mm ammo
Can you offer the 10 Day optic milling where you can drop it off with an appointment to mill the slide that same or following day pick-up. Instead of shipping off the slide?
DoveDOT’s time to shine!

Listen to this man.
Stop whining,
stop rumours.

I don't know too much about science, but couldn't you fill those voids with some JB Weld and go to work?
it's a shame they didn't include an optic cut option. Would've been a great addition for those of us who prefer to customize our setups for better aiming precision.
The 17L is older than the trend of optics on handguns. They didn't just opt out, the gun was just made before optics were a thing.
If you have, or want a 17L with an optic, there's always Zaffiri precision.
There are other companies that will mill out the slide for the 17l, jagerworks and others
What about the glock 17 gen 5 (no MOS)
The ONLY reason to buy a leopold microdot
Super excited for the Gen 5 🤘

Gen 3 wins again

The 17l
Love the g48
Thx
I guess a dovemount is the only way to put a optic on a Glock 17L?
Yes!
You can ACRO cut a 17L, but obviously that limits your options.
This is a very, very informative video. I did not know this! I’ve wanted a 17L for quite a while. Looks like it’ll have the dovetail mount for a 507 Comp.
I don't need no stinking factory optic cut slide.

Sorry but that info is incorrect. The g34 gen 5 is very similar. You mill it for mos cut, and use a c&h plate. Works just fine.
A 34 is not a 17L, 24, 40, or 41... The slides are not the same between any of the gen3/gen4 guns he mentioned, and a gen 5 34 (that has nothing to do with anything he said).

Do you have a Coby’s style holster for a 43x MOS and TalR-6 attached?
That’s Fobus
Just put a G17L barrel on your G34MOS.
Ew.
Give it 6 months and mos version will be available....
I hope they make it... but...

34 doable?
Yes.
WE WANT A 19L!!!!
Yeah… it already exists now. It’s the G49. There’s also been slides available for the last 7 or so years to do that.
@@generalneylandGBMFO
No it’s not, it’s a 19 grip with a 17 slide, hence a 19L
@@byronh77who cares 😂 it’s all pretty much the same exact 38 year old crap with a slight difference here or there.
@@luckymanham302 why are you butt hurt?
@@byronh77 why are you a shill?

Gen 3 Glock 22? How much does it cost to mill and what optics you recommend? Haven't used any pistol optics yet only rifle red dots.
ZP Glock 17 Gen 3 17L slide is RMR compatible
