    Dude the tip for removing the camber bushings at 2:00, such a good idea. That solves the exact problem for removing the 240sx rear lower control arm bushings. So tricky it’s almost like they never intended for it to be replaceable

    Sad thing is, it seems like the entire tool industry is not making tools that fit this to avoid all this modifications, I was doing this job today, lord. It's frustrating not because I can't do it, but because all the tools I rented can't do the job

    Not looking forward to doing this anytime soon. Tempting to just drop everything off at a shop even though I have a press.

      DIYGuys it does take some time , however much less messy than using a torch to burn all the rubber out like everyone online does !

  • @deseremere

    Try to do it with a Honda Element control arm where this bushing is at 90 degree angle. No freaking way to push with a press, the main bushing arm will be on the way

    • @NAUS2K
      @NAUS2K  6 років тому +1

      CNT just looked up an element control arm. Looks very similar to an 8thgen civic. It looks doable on a press like this for sure. I plan to do mine soon I'll shoot a video stay tuned

      @@NAUS2K I'm thinking now that cutting a tab with a saw like you did may actually work and you are right! Sorry, I missed that part and it is critical. I have to say however that on your video the side wall is about 4 times thicker compared to what Honda uses so it may be hard to put it on a socket. I did the compliance bushing yesterday with 12 ton press from HF, was easy except pushing it back straight, had to do about 15 attempts. The rear bushing was actually OK after 200K miles so I left it the way it is. You may check the video of Eric the car guy doing Element bushings, it is very popular and he had to struggle with an air hummer so I didn't want to even try. If you can film a video with Civic please call it something like "Honda rear control bushing replacement easy way" because there is no easy way for now people know :))) Thank you! ua-cam.com/video/fpaIvEN57Jg/v-deo.html

    burning out bushings is for people who have no idea what they're doing, or no tools. it weakens your control arms, especially aluminum control arms. it's not good. you did well.

  • @chrisdasher7116
    @chrisdasher7116 4 роки тому

    Of course u don't need to burn them out if u use a press numb nuts smh
