It is a privilege and a wonder to be able to exist in the same era as her❤️
Amen

Truth.
Very well put!
One of the greatest artists from the latter half of the 1900s.
Glad to see she is okay - a truly unique and special human being.
She's truly a wonder, isn't she? Every once in a while I vet her out and play her all day.
It’s so great to hear Joni speaking!!!
Oh beautiful Joni, it's so nice to see you up walking about and talking to people. Your music has touched me more than you'll ever know. Congratulations on a very deserved honour. Xx
I was so happy to hear her speaking so clearly. She's a wonder.
Can't wait to spend the rest of my life discovering more of her music, a true poet
Dig into it. She's wonderful!
Yes, listen to every album and then again and again...every time you listen will discover something you didn’t hear before :) Enjoy!
She is also a very good painter.
@@rknrlgrl6146 YES!!!!
How wonderful that you like her, since clearly you are young, right? There's great music from all generations. But truly she has been wonderful, and so creative yet has remained humble. She's surprisingly, um, heavy here: but that's a privilege of getting old. She's So beloved. / Oops, I didn't know or had forgotten she had an aneurysm! Hard getting used to aging in someone I haven't seen recent images of. Have seen interviews, pictures when she's older but still from a decade or so ago.
Wonderful to see and hear Joni looking and sounding so good. A well deserved honour for an incredibly talented and beautiful woman.
Joni is everything this world should be. I love her soooooo much. Her music reaches beyond the deepest parts of my soul. I couldn’t live without her song “All I Want”
Totally agree. To be on the planet at the same era as Joni Mitchell is a privilege. Thank you Joni for all you do and are
Love her! She's been my favorite since I heard her music on the radio when I was in my early teens! Her range of music, lyrics and vocal have been genius!
So great that she was able to make it to the ceremony, and appears to be walking under her own power, after all she's been through. Long live Joni!
I totally agree with you. Can you imagine some of the music she might put out if not for her illness? Treasure what we've got, I guess!
@@larrysmfll1872 Come on, nobody lives forever!
I actually didn't know she was well enough for camera work again since her major health problem. This is wonderful
Her eyes are still so clear, bright, still so full of life . Joni's smoking took away so many more years we could have grown with her music. I would have loved to hear the music she would have written in these times. These last 10 years, so many of her peers continued performing....Crosby, Darrel Hall, James Taylor and many others. But she gave us enough music to ponder for a lifetime.
I totally agree with you. Can you imagine some of the music she might put out if not for her illness? Treasure what we've got, I guess!
@@larrysmfll1872 Well maybe you're right after all. But yeah, treasure what we've got! She said she smoked because she didn't want to be perfect, that one needs Some vice. She said that, or something similar. It's all part of her. (Maybe she's quit smoking now.. Maybe she Wants a break from "output".)
Great to see Joni well again, she is a living legend.
She deserves every honor and then some. Shame on Kennedy Center for not honoring her before, long overdue.
Been a big fan of hers since the beginning. Every album is a gem. I must have worn out a number of her albums back in the day. The album Court and Spark was always on heavy rotation on my turn table. Never tire of her songs...Congrats Joni, you so richly deserve this award.
"This Train" is a stone-cold classic. No wonder Prince rated her so highly.
Joni deserves any + all honors
Her music is brilliant
One of the greats over the years ❤
My goodness what can you say about Joni? An incredible example of being true to yourself in every facet of life. An artist's, artist. Her music has made this world a better place. A timeless genius. I'll never forget seeing her in concert in Cleveland Ohio, It's etched in my soul. All her guitars lined up, a gorgeous time with piano, and the hats!!!
Her eyes! Still bright and alive with the brilliance she has bequeathed to us over decades.
How very true! I am so sorry she stopped recording (until her illness put the kibosh on it). Once you get Joni, you've got her forever!
One of the most well spoken musicians I've had the pleasure to hear. Have watched Joni as she was interviewed many many times and she is smart as heck and always extremely well spoken.
It took me 41 years, but now I wholeheartedly am in love with Joni. The raw wisdom in her music is unparalleled.
Oh it’s so wonderful to hear her speak and be fêted after her illness. Long live JM!
I wouldn't want to miss this for the world.
She is the best songwriter in the history of folk and popular music, bar none.
like so many here ... it truly IS an honor to have lived along with her for so long. peerless is King Joni
Another super-talented Canadian!
I love her so much. Her music is just gorgeous. 💜
Same soft little speaking voice, sweet and shy. xoxoxo
Ms Joni Mitchell ❤️❤️❤️😊🙏✌️😎💕
I LOVE YOU JONI MITCHELL. I’m a stroke survivor too.
Bless you. I've seen people recover so well in time that I never knew they'd had a stroke. (Lots of work..) I hope you have good health.
Congratulations, Joni, and to all the other recipients!
This makes me very happy. To see her out and about, and ease at conversing.
Thank you so much for this recent footage of Joni! She looks and sounds fantastic. I have prayed every day for her recovery, since her stroke in 2015. Long live Joni Mitchell!
Joni you ROCK!!!!
Increíble. No pensé que estuviera tan recuperada. GENIAL.
Poet painter composer musician singer with the voice from the heavens the ultimate artist queen Joan lucky to have lived when she done her her thing. They'll be listening to her incredible music and singing in the centuries to come with the amazement she did to to all of us much love and respect from all your fans in Australia Joni talent as big as the sky💘
Why did it take decades to honor this uniquely-gifted Artist is beyond my understanding!! She deserved 7 of those awards IMHO.
I’m glad she is alive and well.
I can't tell you how happy it is to see and hear Joni. I never thought this day would come after that brain-attack, but I should have known better. She's a woman of steel and of heart and mind....(see what I did there). She's so badass. Vive la Joni Mitchell!!!
So happy to hear her speak again!
Joni. I love you! Victoria from Argentina.
Such an influence on me as a songwriter. A unique, truly a genius in the TRUE sense of the word. And must have been so hard as a woman back in the 70's amongst all the males in the industry ... Happy my song "Love is on the way" being sung at the same event to honor Better midler. Another game changer in my life!
I'm glad you wrote this, I didn't really know about you: sorry! (Just your average ignoramus [me].) Will look forward to hearing your song to honor the divine Ms. Midler. Congratulations on having such a stupendous career, how wonderful and lucky.
Thank you, Joni ❤️
What a queen 🙌🙌🙌
Wow it's so good to see her. haven't in a long time.
Jonie is looking good, those viking blue sparkling eyes.
She looks amazing! What an amazing survivor and human being! Long live Joni!
She looks great! Joni is a tough woman
An absolute legend.
THE greatest singer/songwriter/musician of the past 60 yrs (too bad Robert Zimmerman!), in multiple genres ranging from folk and pop to world and jazz... Thanks very much Joni, for being the soundtrack of so many of our lives!
You know, the bit about being the soundtrack of our lives is so true. I put on any of her albums and it takes me back to the years of its release and the surrounding years waiting for another to be released!
Yes, she deserves a Nobel/Pulitzer as well! But anyhow, she's so wonderfully wise and modest: I remember her being upset at hearing that some of her songs were being taught in school, as some kind of literature or poetry, I guess. She was objecting, saying that's not substantial enough: concerned about the quality of education! She's right, too: how can quality creativity like hers occur if the quality of what goes in is diminished? (She and Bobby Z. were Both clearly well read.) Her modesty is So admirable, though!
My absolute love! JONI!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's wonderful to see Ms. Mitchell. I love her music, and her voice.
La música en máxima expresión gracias 🇦🇷
Joni: has contribuido a que el mundo sea mejor con tu obra. Todo el Planeta te debe tributo. ❤❤❤
Her music/voice is exceptional!

Rick is his #1 fan..i myself might be #2 man..cheers
watch his video on his 3 hour dinner with her. I'm soooo jealous!
@@davidburgess3882 such a great storyteller man!
Pleeeze…go listen to all her recent Rhino releases: Archives Vol 1 and 2, then The Reprise Albums and The Complete Geffen Recordings. I can’t get enough of her. She once promised an autobiography-I think this is it.
❤
Behold. Genius
she looks and sounds amazing. Time to
give Mr. Metheny a call and get back to work. 💕
💫⚘🌸Joni🌸⚘💫
She sure aged gracefully.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙌🙌🙌
where's the full video!?!?!?!
She sounds great! She seems to have recovered from her recent health crisis. 🥰
Where are the full clips? Are there any tribute performances?
Saw her and Chad at the Sippin' Lizard coffee house on the south side of Flint Michigan mid sixties. Had to lie about my age to get in, imagine,,,real beatniks, hippies with incense, wow said I.
Who is that man next to Joni ?
You’re not jealous are you?
Absolutely the personification of talent... Her folk songs were awe-inspiring background music for that turbulent time of protest by anti-war generation... Cape Town was a hotbed of agitation on UCT campus... I was taken by friends studying Social Science to this very secretive/clandestine meeting in Jameson Hall (1968) Clint Eastwood - "Paint Your Wagon" was being shown but midway abruptly stopped & the singing of "Nkosi Sekeleli Afrika" & Blackpower saluting took Centre-stage...
Whenever I hear Joni Mitchell's songs the poignancy is too much... Or Simon & Garfunkel... Or "Let It Be" by the Beatles (which was viewed as the Anthem of UCT by protesting students) at that time...
she's amazing. glad she is finally speaking up about the terrible but idolised men of the 60s and 70s. she has every right to say the things she is saying and crosby needs to learn to shut his stupid mouth (which he should have already learned from insulting the women his bandmates cheated with instead of insulting his bandmates).
I've listened to her albums and can't find even one song I've ever liked.
Did you mean "even one song that you haven't liked"???
She definitely has her own sound and style. Her paintings are wonderful.
Jesus is king
Joni paid a complement to another WOMAN in the music industry?!!! Shock!
Don’t smoke 🚭.
You know
Establishment "great honour", means 60s artist, bought and paid for.
Joni Mitchell Priceless ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
