I wanted to love Arcade, but it has some weird glitchy looping issue. Where a sound will loop as it should for a bar or two without any issues but then out of no where the sample will suddenly stop and play again but not on cue as it should and does with every other plugin I use in FL. It honestly makes no sense! To the point where I'm convinced it's just a bug or that their samples are not the BPM they claim to be. If anyone knows what I'm talking about and has any kind of fix for that problem, please let me know! I'd still love to use it! I've owned it for over a year and literally NEVER touch it because of this looping issue I'm talking about. Further example. Say you have a long drawn out pad kind of sound and you play it from bar 1 through bar 8. It's an 8 bar loop. Well it'll sound great for the first 8 bars, sometimes even the first 16 bars, but then suddenly once the song gets to say bar 33 (the start of a new loop) the loop suddenly shifts and fucks up and because of that, now the sound is no longer at the right BPM with the project. Get my drift? Anyways, help would be lovely! I've been producing beats for 20+ years and have literally produced thousands of instrumentals... it's not like I'm a beginner over here!
I love how you use Output in this video. It's an interesting concept. A VST like Serum gives you a lot more control over the sound but takes longer to get the finished product, whereas Output Arcade gives you quick access to a huge range of sounds with a little less control. However for idiots like me, the level of control that Arcade provides is more than enough. I've let me subscription lapse - I may go back after watching this and being reminded of what it can do.
I'm really liking some other products with similarly-limited primary controls for the same reason. If the sound/instrument player is well designed, the most important controls are mapped to the primary interface and you can tweak everything that most users will need. Plus, there's the option to dig in under the hood if you want. I'm thinking about certain NI and Arturia (and other) instruments that make making music /fun!/ This looks to be in that same vein. So, I wouldn't say that the limited control is for "idiots." They just allow for getting a good result with minimal fussing and fighting.
Does this read my unfinished song adding bass and drums in sync no ducking matching best key harmony melody style genre or it’s just samples and midi software? Why I can’t just use samples and midi for free clicking through just like arcade.
I always appreciate your enthusiasm, Chris! Arcade sounds incredible and a worthwhile addition to an ambient musician's arsenal, but I'm disappointed it's subscription-based.
@@TeslaOsiris I agree with the comment of mister TeslaOsiris that the "subscription-based" can be a turn-off... for me anyways. @@martinleduc3210 I agree too many companies trying to force subscriptions they need to offer both, while this does look nice I don't like the forced sub model cloud based type stuff no thanks they need to sell it as a sep plugin and you buy what you need or forget it. I had the 30day trial and subbed for a months but not really used it back then, think I will re activate it again, the new sounds they added are pretty cool
Love this channel. Following your link there's no indication what's the monthly cost of subscription beyond the trial period. But maybe I'm missing something. Keep on keeping on!
Those patches sound like a sample of anything random with a massive amount of reverb and or delay with some arpeggios here and there. I like there RnB and Hiphop stuff, thats dope and less effects on plugins as possible because I want to put My own effects on them.
Nice stuff. The peak you've given into the library makes it seem like an ambient or drone producer's dream. In some ways, the workflow reminds me of NI's Komplete environment but much better organized. The only thing I don't like is that it becomes yet another subscription. I'd rather either do it like NI or Arturia or even Free To Use Sounds where you buy in at a point and can add a la carte, or choose to upgrade en masse when your needs (and wallet) warrant. I realize that those examples are different products, but they all share a similar business model as far pertaining to sales. And, I do well understand why developers like the subscription model from a business standpoint -- revenue is more consistent so you know where your next peanut butter and jelly sandwich is coming from. Cheers!
You said you were playing in C, but arcade was pitched locked to Fminor....does this mean I can play in any key & arcade will play whatever key is pitched locked? I ask because I can only play in like 4 keys and they're all major. This would be a gamechanger for me, as playing in minor keys & most of the major keys is pretty challenging w/o much music theory knowledge.
Hey, i was thinking, is arcade good for sci fi music, soundtracks , music for games? then i come toyoutube and i saw u did a video on it.... immediately insipred, thank you, i'll resub right now
I used to use Arcade all the time. The sounds are great but there is a biiiiiiiiiiig drawback… If you don’t keep the libraries or your subscription, you are hosed if you ever have to revisit projects. This basically forces you to resample constantly just to have the audio to fall back on. On the whole…I think Native Instruments Expansions are better value and you get to keep all the samples associated with them.
I don't care for Arcade because of a weird looping issue I deal with when I used to try using it, but I'm about 99% sure you keep every sound that you download/use from Arcade even if you decided to no longer pay for your sub!
Thing is that it’s constantly updated with new sounds/samples/loops, so not sure how that would work in a buy one time deal. €10.00 a month isn’t exactly extortionate.
Sure it is. Says so on screen (includes paid promotion) right up front, and he tells you it's a sponsored video. So yeah, it's an ad. But does that really matter? He's upfront about it. One of the differences I've noticed with Chris's videos is that, in a great many cases, he continues to use the products he promotes in subsequent videos and projects. I see so many other channels where the product is on and then gone, never to be seen again.
