  • I've been dabbling in sewing my own clothes for over 40 years, but this year I'm for the first time attempting to sew for my recently very changed body (yes, I gained crazy amounts of weight the past few years. It's a story in and of itself). With this year's hot Scandinavian summer being REALLY hot, I truly feel the night for lighter clothing, in order not to melt. Also, I think I use the sentence 'it's SO HOT' about a million times in this video.
The shirred dress did for sure have its ups and downs before this project was finished, but in the end I did make a dress I really like and am going to enjoy weather. And should there be any cool summer nights (one can only hope!), I have the perfect yellow summer sweater ready. Pattern is 'Flax DK' by Tin Can Knits (link below, not affiliated, just a fan), and knit in Sandnes Garn 'Line', a yarn that has been very popular in knitting podcasts lately. These two items will for sure have a place in my wardrobe to love. :-)
