Undoubtedly a fine recording, but before you say the genuine art of singing does not exist today, do yourself a favour:: listen to Lily Pons sing Allelujah from Mozart's Exultate Jubilate and then listen to Regular Muhlemann sing the same thing (both available on You Tube) and see if you do not re-consider your opinion.

The tone is too white, the legato is broken by aspirates (Lily Pons' trademark), the ornamentation, particularly the cadenza, is excessive, the trill is half-baked at best, YET she is irresistible in tonal beauty, artistic phrasing, pinpoint staccato, and high notes. One of the mysteries of my 53 years of listening to voices. Thanks, Edmund, for sharing this.
Meltzerboy....explain what you mean my to white. She had a lovely vibrato. In the beginning she did not aspirated notes. I'm thinking some conductor wanted more articulation. In live performance the critics said she had a golden sheen to her sound.
@@jimbuxton2187 She had a beautiful voice, no doubt about that. But the tone did not have much color to it, that is, it was essentially monochromatic although crystalline and lovely.

This is great singing unfortunately we do not hear any more!
