One thing I love about your channel is how simple but extremely well thought out the projects are. I’ve got every component you used in this video in my garden shed, never would I have thought I’d be able to use them to make some really professional looking shutters.
Thank you very much
I wouldn’t do yourself down Matt. That was a clever idea and nicely executed. In fact it was just up my street using what you had plus a couple of fixings. The toggle idea was very neat.
Thank you. The toggles do work really well
Love the toggle clamp idea. Very clever Matt.
Digging the new style of shooting Matt! Bit closer up? Bit more confident? Dunno, but it’s working. Always enjoy your videos but quality definitely improving too.
Great project. Aesthetically speaking the clips were a great addition. Love the look of it all together.
Great project, I'm very impressed with that, thanks for sharing! I hope the slats don't warp and bend over time! All the best
This idea is amazing Matt 🙂 Well done
Great build. I've tried unsuccessfully in the past with much slimmer slats but you've solved a couple of problems I had so maybe I'll give them another go. Thanks!
There is definitely a lot to work out when making blinds
Nicely done!
Thank you
Great work dude.😃😃
Started watching, thought 'something's different!'... nice haircut Matt 😎
Thank you
Great design, Matt! And it really cuts the glare down. I love your ingenuity and intuitive design as well as your presentation. Thanks!
Thank you very much
They look great! And I really like that they’re easily removable. Really enjoyed this build and video - and your general style of planning/changing plans as the project progresses 👍 And I know I’m a little late with this but it’s great to see the new workshop outro, too 😁
Thank you very much
Fantastic idea .. will be doing similar for my own workshop to keep those prying eyes from seeing in
Thank you
Brilliant 👌🏼
Very cool ❤❤
A bit of lube always does the trick Matt! Especially when it’s homemade by Keith! 😊
They look superb Matt a really good job and another enjoyable video.
Thank you very much
Brilliant work, Matt! It turned out amazing! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thank you very much
Nice project Matt - they are especially useful for controlling light whilst filming. That's one of my problems so I guess I should make something similar. Thank you for the inspiration.
Thank you. They should definitely help
A really good idea and if you pack the tool rack off the wall you could still use them
That’s a good idea
Love this Matt, it also gives me a brilliant solution to an odd sized window I need a blind for.
Cheers fella ✊
Thank you Paddy
Really good idea, great job as always mate 👍
Thank you
They look great. 👍
Thank you
Nice job. I wouldn't have figured it all out as easily as you.
Thank you
Great video 👍
How bout vent in the ceiling for that saw dust
I could do with something similar. Great video as always Matt
Thank you
👍👍👍Thanks
I really like the way you can open and close the blinds
Thank you
Nice job! Hardly any vids on UA-cam about making shutters. I made some saloon doors a couple of years ago an had to wing it.
Thank you. I struggled to find information on the subject
Hi Matt, that looks really great on your windows, we have shutters on all our windowx, and they are great, best regarcs from a Kiwi living in Australia 👍👍👍👍
You probably get much more sun than me here
Very ingenious, Kind regards. 😀👍👍👍
Thank you
Nice!
Thank you
A simple design but brains behind ❤
Thank you
Once again proving you have a great mind for taking problems and simplifying them. Great job. The use of eyelets and brackets I really like. I even watched your Brilliant ad. I did a HNC in mechanical engineering some years ago. Maths and physics heavy, which was a struggle as a mature student. Any woodwotker could benefit from understanding of some mechanical and engineering principles I think. Even if the maths and physics might be going a bit far!😉👍
I would love to better at engineering. It definitely comes in handy with woodworking
Great project! Good that you kept the problem with the sides in. I really like those parts because we all struggle and get new insights during a project.
Will you be making a new storage solution for the chissels?
Thank you. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with them yet
Those blinds work pretty well, Matt! Well done!
Maybe woth some "nicer" hardwood you could make these for your house as well!
Thank you. Yes I might think about some for the house
Matt, Very nice job and very do able. Onya mate !! (That suspicious chap hanging around the shop looks kind of familiar !!)
I would not trust him
Thats an ingenious solution Matt, and very stylish they look too, glad you were able to adapt the design as you went along without having to start from scratch !
Do the tool holders fit back just as before or do you need to space them out a bit to allow for the shutters ?
The toggle clamps are a great idea, simple but effective !
You made me chuckle when you twisted you cap sideways at the end, but what would have been even funnier is if you could've got Keith over to act as the burglar ! 😉😂
Although I'd imagine he's got more pressing considerations at present !
Yes I think Keith is quite busy but would have been funny.
I’m not sure what I will do with the tool holders. They might need to go on another wall
would have made one side white, to repel sunlight when closed, try to keep the heat out.
They look pretty cool 😎 Matt, now where did I put my chisels?
Thank you
If the eyelets on the edges of the boards were screwed into the corners of the boards, sticking out at 45 degrees, then the slats would close completely straight and be able to touch each other for blackout or not-see-in purposes.
People could have already have called the police if they saw you record that thumbnail :D very nicely done, as usual 👍
I did wonder what my neighbours would think
Matt, I did think you would fit some nice lace nets and Austrian Blinds. Can't win 'em al I s'pose Good stuff though. Bob (Weston super Mare)
Thanks Bob
👏🏼🌟🙏🏼
Snazzy haircut? New T-shirt? What’s going on?!
Had my summer trim
Works well, I thought this would be a world of 💩 with many problems. I am going to that bloke, I would have gone with white as it reflects light and therefore would have allowed more light in, but hey it is your project not mine! 👍🏻
Thank you
