Fantastic finish on the window frames - they look great. You make things look easy to make with your calm approach and straightforward building style. Very enjoyable series.
This is amazing! Can't wait for the rest of the series. You should do an extra episode to go through people's questions and most importantly the budget. Also would be nice to know what you would do differently if you had to do it again and where people with less skills or money could simplify the project. That last one might be difficult though. One of things I love about this series is the fact that it appears fairly simple and budget friendly.
Nice tip for installing the glass onto the foam tape is to spray the tape with glass cleaner before putting the glass up to it. It allows you to move it about until your happy with the position, and once the cleaner has dried it will still be stuck to the glass.
Nice job. When you're doing the windows for your shop, lift the glass units up off the timber with packers. A couple of secret drainage holes that come out under the cill would be good too. That'll help stop the seal on the units getting wet and breaking down. If you have any openers that are side hung, toe and heel the glass with packers to help stop the hinges dropping. 👍
Awesome work Matt, tempted to make some windows for my workshop and you might have just inspired me to do it. Keep up the fantastic content. Can't wait for next workshop banter episode 🙂.
Fantastic! I assumed windows really needed to be purchased, but you've shown they can be quite straight forward to build yourself. I'm not a fan of the upvc frames and sills so this is brilliant. Great series Matt, thank you
A really good clear and concise way to do windows. Similar to how I did mine several years ago, but mine weren't quite as refined. My next ones will be! :)
Excellent work Matt, I am very impressed. And I think you really felt the benefit of all those new tools. Great job fitting the glazed panels but I'm wondering how tricky replacing a window [if it gets broken] will be.
When I did mine it was very similar to the way you did it except I used glazing putty. You don't seem to see that used these days. Maybe it is because my windows were single glazed as we are talking 40 years ago when double glazing was not used that much in the UK. Thanks for posting.
10:38 You didn’t make the opening window frame casing exactly the same as before, it’s different as you don’t have the angled beading. Can you show more clearly the casing for the opening window please?
Hi matt nice work ,hope its toughend glass look for a kite mark in one of the corners.if its not you will need to safety film it. love the show best wishes chris
Why didn’t you just put the glazing tape right towards the front edge because 1/2 of that tape isn’t doing anything as there’s a void In between the glass and the rebate. Also if you moved it to the front then you wouldn’t have to silicone the whole as there’s no chance of water getting in there, also when you come to paint the windows again the paint won’t stick to the silicone. We also do wet glazing where we fill the void in between the unit and the rebate with silicone so no water can even get in behind the bead. Great work just some points you might like to hear as I am a joiner thanks
Very nice job Matt, I was expecting there to be lots of routing going on to rebate the frames, but your approach with the table saw and dowelled corner joints made it much easier to construct. The colour is lovely and the frames look really good, but was wondering when you painted did you cover the knots up first with knot sealer, then prime and undercoat? Just concerned how long the paint will last if it went straight onto the wood.
This is looking wonderful. I would think battery tools are great, except for maybe on a table saw it might be a little underpowered at times? Your videos are perfect.
Some of the reviews I saw for the Bosch table saw said that it was a bit underpowered. I guess it depends on what you cut with it. I have a budget mains powered table saw from Screwfix (years ago) and its woefully underpowered, will stall with anything slightly thick so am looking for a new one at some point. Some of the prices are eye watering though
£14 for 8 double glazing units! You overpayed Matt 😉😉😉🤣 what a steal! It will compensate for the extortionate cost of wood slightly Clearly you didn't clad it soon enough so it needed some plants in front to make it prettier in the mean time
Very professional work as usual , I am curious were you manage to find such good timber for the windows . It makes any project so much easier when the wood is actually straight and not full of defects , as in what is usually available in most DIY outlets . Best wishes and kind regards 😀👍👍👍
Greetings Matt, that was some outstanding work on the windows, they looked fantastic, did you use exterior grade PVA or the standard stuff? I would think your mym is very proud and happy with all the work you have done, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia.
Lovely job again! I'm watching out for some reclaimed windows for my project but will now broaden that search to include looking for some salvaged glass panes too. I've asked a similar question before: Is it just experience that tells you the pine will be stable enough throughout the changing weather?
So I did not realise that your parents live in Northampton , were you born here or did they use to live somewhere else ( I live about two miles from your parents house) which is why I am being so nosey !!

Good effort. Nice to see you added the drip. Most amateurs don’t do that.
Thanks for the shout Matt! No guarantee of actual squareness implied or given… 🤔🤷♂️😂👍
Square enough for my needs

really enjoyed, thank you and stay well from Wilburr from the Wilburrness of Maine
excellent window job one thing never strangle your hammer lol atb
brilliant..I wish I'd delayed building windows for a summer house until I'd seen this. they look really good.
Thank you Daniel

Great work! One of my favourite episodes. Thank you
Thank you very much
Nice one Matt! thats coming along superbly. Deus!

Well done Matt. Those sealed units were an incredible find!
Yes a great deal
Great brownie points in the bank Matt - hope they pay interest when your workshop build takes place! Great video as usual. Keep it up
Thank you Ant
The shed is coming along quite nicely. Keep up the great work Matt!
Thank you
You've done a super job there Matt. Great result seeing them fitted in situ. Looking posh already. Tony
Well done Matt, they look awesome! And those 8 windows for 14 pounds! That's a bargain!
one word, inspiring !

I follow you from your first video. This is the best job you have ever done. Congratulations Matt!
Thank you very much
Great job man!
That is a cracking job. 👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾
Really loving this series so far Matt. Very Well done
Very professional looking job there Matt. The project is coming along very nicely and great to watch it progress.
Thank you. It’s getting there
Great job👍🏻
Another great video. I’ve got some similar glass units in my shed waiting for exactly this kind of treatment! Thanks again Matt!
Thank you

Good job, like the green color on the windows
Thank you
Nice job Matt
Brilliant job looks really neat and professional

Quality work 👍👍
Thank you
Some flashing tape I've seen before is designed to stretch so that you don't have to cut it at the corners.
Fantastic! I assumed windows really needed to be purchased, but you've shown they can be quite straight forward to build yourself. I'm not a fan of the upvc frames and sills so this is brilliant. Great series Matt, thank you
I agree. I don’t like the look of UPVC either
Pretty nice work, Matt! It's looking great there! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thank you very much
Great quality video matt. Think you may have inspired me to do something similar very soon!
Thank you

Best video I've seen for windows!
Coming along nicely - thanks for sharing!
Thank you
Brilliant job.

Shouldn't be to bad, i would probably use screws on the inside to make it obvious, or use conventional wood beading.
Brilliant job that! They look great 😍👌

You could, apparently not recommended for some sealed units. Another reason is it takes an age with linseed putty before you can paint..
Hey, nice job!

Looking good Matt, great project
I can feel a work shop bench extension video coming on to incorporate a Bosch table saw…. 😁
Thank you
Nice job !!!!

Brilliant workmanship. Did you not want the windows to be eye level when standing inside?
Want to see out while sat down

Love the videos....did you buy the sealed window units before you built the shell of the shed?
This is looking wonderful. I would think battery tools are great, except for maybe on a table saw it might be a little underpowered at times? Your videos are perfect.
It has plenty of power
Some of the reviews I saw for the Bosch table saw said that it was a bit underpowered. I guess it depends on what you cut with it. Can you please tell me the name and size of your workshop tent please?
What size wood are you using to make the opening window frame that holds the window?
£14 for 8 double glazing units! You overpayed Matt 😉😉😉🤣 what a steal! It will compensate for the extortionate cost of wood slightly
Clearly you didn't clad it soon enough so it needed some plants in front to make it prettier in the mean time
Yes I should work quicker

@@Badgerworkshop interesting I will give them a look for my next project , thanks for your reply . Kind regards as always 😀👍👍👍
Where do you get your Braces from ?

How many sheds/cabins have you built in your life? It looks like you know what you are doing :)
Quite a few now
👍
so what happens to your trend miter saw?
I still have it
👍👍👍
Do you sell the ply square clamps Matt ?
No 10 minute workshop does
On Peter’s ETSY store - link from any of his videos
I would of brought them IAS speakers they look in great condition
I did not see them
@@Badgerworkshop I'm like a magpie I love going these kind of places but my wallet doesn't lol
i guess the glass was bought before the build
I thought that too. Or he was incredibly lucky on the size.

The windows look great but it does look to me that you have made life very difficult for yourself if the glas breaks and you need to replace it?
Thought it was going to be an apple-shed but its all windows 🤣
Poor Trend miter saw, got owned by Bosch!
