- Hey guys! So my check engine light kept coming on so I did research and found out the purge valve went bad. I honestly wouldn’t recommend Pepboys or Autozone because I wasted so much money with them because they kept telling me other stuff was wrong when it was just the purge valve..
I’m glad I found this video before I went to Chevy And paid the $600+ they were trying to charge. $60 and 10 minutes of my time got the job done. Thank you.

@@iceangel8206 I went to auto zone and for the part almost a year ago. Unfortunately I don’t recall the part number. Sorry I couldn’t be more help.

I’m having the same problem with my 2017 Impala. My mechanic changed it twice and the check engine light comes right back on. I noticed he buys his parts from a part store and I’m thinking maybe he need to get the part from the dealership? It’s annoying for sure to see my check engine light on. He is a good mechanic and actually worked for Chevrolet years ago and he is older so he is researching what the issue may be. To be continued 😒😞

What kind of issues were you having when this problem arose? Code reader said I have the same issue… My problems are if I put too much gas in my care, like over 15 bucks, it acts like it wont start… Like starts rumbling like its gonna cut off smh
Your issue sounds like mine. Last 2 times I filled my tank my car goes dead and I have to get a jump start. They already ruled out the battery.

How did you know it was a purge valve? I was convinced I got bad fuel.
I looked at the obd reader thing and it gave me the code for it. I changed the gas cap and saw it didn’t take the light of so I changed the purge valve.

I didn't have a red clip either but if you removed the bolt and take off the valve you'll see how take off the clip

Auto zone does it free. I brought a lil code reset thingy from Amazon and sent it back after I reset the code lol

I had the car since 2019 .. It came on the same day I posted this video. I only have about 60k-70k miles. Super frustrating 😩

I just got my first check engine light st 75,000 KM's. Purge valve was making a loud clicking last winter. It went away the summer. I'm willing to bet it's the purge valve.
