- On this episode we journey through the life of the former President of Nigeria with him - and we touch on his experiences in the Congo, in prison during the Sani Abacha Regime, and his thoughts on colonialism, neocolonialism and African independence.
The last 3 minutes of this Interview are so beautiful and Powerful. Thank you, Adesuwa and our great Father, President Olusegun Obasanjo! ❤👍
Thank you !
Baba I earnestly tapped from the grace God has bestowed on your Sir, you are indeed a blessing to this generation and we need to celebrate you now that you are alive.
Adesuwa, you are doing the Lord’s work! Thank you!! Well done!!
⚠️ Adesuwa, please find a way to bring Gen. Yakubu Gowon on your show while the man still breathes!
He has so much story to document for posterity, starting from the Jan 66 coup, the counter coup, Ironsi's fate, civil war years, post war, change of schedule for handover to civil rule, Murtala coup, his implication in the Dimka coup, life in exile, life back in Nigeria, interactions with Ojukwu post war and whatever else you wish to add 😉
I concur with your request, you have basically set the agenda 👍
Gen Jack' will ruffle a lot of feathers if he talks but it's necessary. Same with General Danjuma as well
@1anre it would be a great disservice to the nation and more importantly, to themselves if they still lack the courage to be candid at the twilight of their lives!
One assumes that Generals are courageous and fearless!
Let's see how it goes!
@adstix reverse psychology bully won't work on these type of men.
People in their close corridors have heard the stories of how things really unraveled and can tell us as it is, but we will hardly believe them cause it's not directly from the horses mouth.
My hope is that when they see clips like this from OBJ and the other OGs, it should ginger them to open their hearts up and share
@1anre if you never narrate your story, others will do so for you. And it is never guaranteed that third-party narrators will be 100% factual.
Gowon, Danjuma, IBB, etc. can either tell us while they still can or their families have to live with secondhand versions for eternity!
I think we have to deliberately avoid the use of the word "illiterate" for our parents, it will be more appropriate to use the expression not having "western/formal education" rather than "illiterate".
Our parents that didn't attend the western form of school are more intelligent than our so-called graduates, PhD holders and professors of today.
You have a point there
We really cannot do that because it is not yet crystalized that we have our own civilization, hence we will continue to call our fathers illiterate, when they had their own educational structure, what they teach for values.
My dad did up to standard six. He became our village secretary. Spoke seldomly but writes a lot. I usually watched him go through and amended his notes.
Thanks soo much Adesuwa from bringing these interviews to us. You're sooo amazing. Please, is there gonna be a Part 2 of this interview? It kinda feels incomplete
Thank you! we're working towards a part 2
This is very educating
Thank you Adesuwa for blessing us with this interview
A great man indeed, an elder statesman and an African icon
I really wish the audio was louder. 🥺
Very low volume!!!
Baba Obasanjo, very willing to surrender all the information despite been a General and a president, I still see great humility in him. Baba please Nigeria still need your support. do not forsake this country, help advice our present leaders the best way to save this country as you can see our suffering in Nigeria Thank you Sir.
do you have a patreon with bts?
And, some mannerless people keep on bashing this elder. His life is still a mystery to me. God is bigger than any adversity of life
Love the way it went….flow>>>>>
The greatest leader in the modern democratic dispensation. Sad to say, but in hindsight, Nigeria may have been better off if Obasanjo had gotten the third term agenda
Facts
I agree with fact that ex president Olusegun Obasanjo is the greatest leader of Nigeria new democratic dispensation, but I am of the opinion that third term attempt is one factor that is undermining his huge respect he should have been commanding in the country.
Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo patriotism and contributions to Nigeria 🇳🇬 is unquestionable.
He went through the rudiments! A very good role model for those with discerning minds! Some naysayers will see it differently because they're naturally myopic in everything!
your conclusion was exactly what we needed then
And he did well to get us someone of good character and admirable leadership in Yar'adua, unfortunately he died and the road became rough again.
pls work on the mic. the sound quality should be improved. Kudos Adesuwa
The thing about OBJ is that he smarter, more grounded than many of us give him credit for.
Well done to him
Great interview. Better video and sound next time. Splendid
God bless Dr. Ajuwon!
On how Adesuwa introduce OBJ: i don't know if that's the model she adopts for her program for whoever no matter the status that's ok. However bringing Icon like Gen. Obasanjo two time Nigeria president to the stage i think he needs proper introduction by you to arouse the interests of your viewers especially if you are expecting viewes across the Globe who definitely will need background information.
Powerful Interview - I am rooting for you Adesuwa. ❤
Come and take this thing away now😂 Icon!
Wow lovely
You’re doing well.
Africa my Africa
Why are we underperforming? Leadership!!! Wake up Nigerians.
POINT OF CORRECTION: Nzeogwu was a first class Major NOT yet a Lt Col., at the time coup or indeed ever in the Nigerian Army.
❤❤
Adesuwa you are meant to introduce him to your audience not asking people like Obasanjo to introduce himself. I feel its kind of disrespecful to ask Obasanjo to introduce himself. Especially for someone of his calibre who is well-known both in Nigeria and internationally.
did you know he is a village? if he did not say it by himself??
The girl Is doing very well, he has made obj speak about his root. So give her a moment.
@@aigbekaenosaigbovo8607 she is doing well but no Journalist has ever asked Obama, Clinton, etc to introduce themselves. The normal thing is to introduce your guest to your audience.
But that has been her style based on previous interviews of Fayose and Saraki.
She is absolutely wrong.
What a great Interview without a good journalist.....
Adesuwa, I believe the appropriate thing would have been for you to introduce this statesman appropriately. If you know history at all OBJ's name is littered all the history of Nigeria. From handing over to a civilian government (shehu shagari), to his role in quelling the civil war, to standing up to abacha and being jailed for it, and becoming the first civilian president of our latest republic. Common now introduce this man well next time
Aremu, baba iyabo, papa Don old, great man
We study history now though, even if it’s whitewashed but yeah it’s back in syllabus. I teach it
Since when please. In private or public schools?
@@popsonjaiyesimi7670 2 years ago I think. They just started it back. Only private schools sha
That sir please would u like to introduce urself make me laugh die..nice one shaa..is not dat deep..baba sef shock 😂.. he's not use to that route 😂
He's a good sport. He didn't let that deter him
Just imagine this babe mourn 😂
OBJ na lucky man
Ex-president.Point of correction.
Did you ask him about the Odi Massacre of 1999 or did you conveniently memory wipe that out?
He will not answer that lol 😅😅😅
Obasanjo is an igbo man if you are from bayelsa ibo man killed your people
@@oscarlight761 he will definitely answer. U no Sabi obj be that
Most people asking about Odi massacre don't even know what transpired.
@@anthonyajibolaomoruyi8054 they said they killed an army officer. So why not persocute the killer why promote a genocide.
You are not relevant sir. You where one of the most currupt presidents Nigeria had. Ghana must go president.
He is not relevant to you because Gen Olusegun Obasanjo is not a tribal bigot the way you would have expected him to be, ex president Olusegun Obasanjo is a great Nigerian and a good leader to us 🇳🇬.
@@anthonyajibolaomoruyi8054 🤣🤣🤣🤣 if you say so , the most corrupt president Nigeria had , of course you will like him cause you see a user , if hitler was in support of Peter obi , he would have been a saint in your eyes.
