I tried this combo again today on freshly clarified hair, I learned a few things. All trial and error, but this is how I learned to make it work for me. • Use a fine amount, work in big sections. I find that if you do smaller sections, you’ll find yourself using too much, which makes the hair crispy hard around day 3. But use too little and it dries frizzy on day 1. • Allow the hair to air dry at least 10 minutes before going under the dryer. This allows the hair to drink up the product. I use gator clips to stretch the roots and keep the hair down. But always blow dry to stretch it and set it. • Avoid rewetting the hair until wash day. This might be hard, since these pricy, botanical products are water soluble and evaporate with time. BUT, if you allow your hair to dehydrate until wash day, you learn when to wash it.
Kinky Curly has been my go to. It took me a minute to try, now I'm afraid to try anything else and pray my hair doesn't reject it at some point. Your hair is beautiful. Similar in texture to mine but yours is so much denser. I'm older so hormones do a number on you. Thank you so much for sharing.
I love how after you style your hair with such care, you just let it be! You don't do too much like pulling, tugging or over styling it. you leave your hair to let it thrive. it looks fuller and longer every video 👍👏👏
Thanks! I cut out some bits if me over raking my hair. I do struggle with that sometimes to the point of causing tension on my scalp. I've taken heed to that and am trying to avoid it. Thanks for watching!
You have given me the courage to try kinky curly! People always hollering about how it flakes. I didn't see one flake in your hair. Curls turned out beautifully 😍 Enjoyed the video, nice low music, not alot of unnecessary talking, you showed every product and different days afterward. Loved it!❤❤
I LOVE kinky curly Knot Today and curling custard. I've been using them off and on since 2008. I try other products, but I always come back to them, it's all I use for my wash and go now. I find that if I scrunch oil into my wet hair right after I apply the custard, my hair is soft after I dry it, and has little to no crunch, but is still defined.
Saaaame!! I had no idea how to properly use it until I big chopped. Before then, it was a definite no for me because it was just so expensive for not enough product. But once I had short hair, I learned how to work it in and ever since then it’s been a match. That’s a good tip. Thanks for sharing!
@@PreppyFay12 Hey! I looked it up, and is Walmart the only place that sells Bee Girl Custard? Some of the other websites look sketchy. I prefer to go in and purchase rather than order, but if I have to order, I’d like to know where you bought it.
In case you haven’t noticed I’m binge watching while doing my henna gloss 🤩. Loving all I’ve seen thus far, taking notes and I even shared your channel with one of my sisters who just did the big chop similar to your 2nd video. I feel like I’m about to take this journey with you and this time around I’m ready!!!! TY 🧡🖤
Well I tried kinky K today & I'm hooked, the definition and less shrinkage is the truth! On my driest spot in my head I had to add too much of the custard but that's the only flaw & the price
Do it! Consistency is key. The more your hair is styled in a wash and go, the more hydrated your hair becomes. Your wash and go's look better and better with the right products and technique!
My curls are very similar to yours (a little looser in some areas) so I decided to try this product combo and I loved it. My hair feels so soft, light and moisturized. I would definitely use them again. One question, how often do you oil your hair/scalp throughout the week? Thanks!
😍😍😍 I want these results but never seem to want to take my time 😩 I rush the process. Your vids make me want to slow down and be more intentional. Next time I wash my hair and start rushing it I'm going to ask myself WWBD #whatwouldbrittanydo 😂
I totally forgot to mention! It's been over a year since i've used the Kinky-Curly duo. Custards are my favorite when it comes to consistency, but UFD curly magic still reigns supreme 👑 Using the Knot Today leave-in helped my curls clump for the Custard similar to the UFD Supercurl and Curly Magic combo. I knew I'd use a lot of the Curling Custard (it being $16.99 for 8 ounces makes it easy to avoid 😅) However, I love the results. When I do it again i'll order the 16oz and try to take smaller sections to avoid using too much of the product, but I'm in no rush lol. I did this wash and go on Monday and my scalp and curls feel good. I'm moving towards once a week wash days again to see how my scalp handles it.
@@BrittanyMia Do you wash your hair every week? I really love how your wash and gos turn out. I was just telling my daughter every time I see you do your hair it looks so relaxing and I want to do my hair! That would be crazy because I just finished my braids! 😂
@@yvonnehoward7825 Yes, once a week! I used to do twice a week when my hair was shorter and faster to style. Every time I get braids I’m ready to take them out at the end of the week 😂
@brittany Mia New subscriber here!! Would you say that this was your best wash and go thus far? And what’s the freaking name of the 1st song? I can’t find it anywhere!!! So soothing!!! 🧘♀️

So glad to hear! I love the kinky curly combo. Sally's is having 25% off on the products so take advantage 🤎 Thanks so much!
the key is to dilute with water. add some to a spray bottle and use a small amount of gel. its very potent thats why a little goes a long way
