I agree with all the others, that alligator trick would have saved me a lot of frustration over the years. The pickups sounded great ! They look cool as well.
A set that went under the rug was the Dimarzio Pandemonium set - Nita Strauss I think. They were in a guitar I bought off a fellow and they were very versatile, tight but ballsy. Definitely unique and great pickups but didnt sell too much.
Awesome video, I have Dimarzio Dark Matter pickups and its the first thing anyone notices when they see that guitar. Those covers are always a sweet addition to an already great sound. These new ones would be a good upgrade for one of my other guitars.
Amazing! This will most definitely be my Christmas present to myself to put in my Majesty since I'm not super in love with the Illuminators that are in it at the moment.
It cracks me up that DiMarzio still gives you those long ass springs and screws with short legged pickups (like the X2N). Cool that that give you phillips and flat head, though.
When it comes to Artist pickups, I would Love to see a comparison of the new vs. the previous gen pickup(Rainmaker/ Dreamcatcher vs Crunch Lab/ Liquifire..) Since it is all about the artists ear, what is different now vs's 10 yrs ago.
@@tiagoramalhais5493 I had totally forgotten about the Illuminator Set. It is very confusing, but at least it's better than the print media only days when it came to figuring out hardware specs.
Yeah, I have a really good lab grade Gauss Tesla meter that tells me the polarity, and magnetic field strength. You can make a decent Gauss meter with a Hall Effect sensor and coupld of small op amps to drive a meter. It won't be useful for accurate numerical values but it will work great for comparison purposes and it will cost about $9500 less. You can make a nice one for under $100.
?? Love those pickups Phil … have you ever tried adding drums to your rig ? Have you seen the Rolland HPD or SPD? Great for looping! I’m intrigued by looping ! I haven’t got a rig setup but that might make a good instructional video. ❤
They sound relatively low output- which is nice, low output always sounds better to me. I would rather have low output pups and then hit my amp with a boost or whatever if I want to get heavy- than have high output pickups I'm constantly having to turn way down. I don't know why but, low output just sounds better.
Nope, sorry Phil, nice as they are, i've not yet come across anything to match my set of Bryan Williams 73 MSG Double Neck pups. They are just magnificent. Get yourself a set, demo them, you won't be sorry!
Man, that alligator clip tip! Priceless. Thank you🤘
Yeah it is. Oh man, I have installed so many pickups and lost springs that shot across the room. I am totally doing that from now on.
We came in for copper, guy gave us gold!
Great tip on alligator clips. Neat trick, and time saver

Nice pickups. Big DiMarzio fan. Thanks for the review and the alligator clip tip!

Boy! You sure have come a long way! Guitar playing that is, you can hold it together...well done! Nice pickups 2...wow!
Once you hear that Soldano, you know immediately where George Lynch got his sound. But man, those pickups sound great!
Looks like i DO have an upgrade for my Majesty.!!

Wow, those are sweet sounding pickups!

great tip with the roach clips.
Thank you for the spring tip.

Dude, that alligator clip tip has me like 🤯. Love your channel. 🤘
That alligator trick would have come in handy yesterday lol. Wow never thought of something like that
They sound great. Thanks for those clean tones, I always think that's important. Tasty playing there as well.
Dude you have some excellent chops!!! Those pickups are gnarly. Thank you for your time. Love the videos.
I threw a set of those in a cheap Ibanez RGA. Big improvement. I'm surprised these don't get more attention. They aren't high output.
Sounds fantastic especially that Slo module
love Phil's metal side!!!
They really are well balanced and warm tone. ❤️ Blues. Even for Metal it’s a home run. 🎸🎸
Gorgeous cleans
Cool pickups. Got that Scorpions, Mathias Jab vibe 😎👊✌️🎸

Yes, at this point there are 4 signature Petrucci sets from Dimarzio ... Confusing to say the least
@@tiagoramalhais5493 I had totally forgotten about the Illuminator Set. It is very confusing, but at least it's better than the print media only days when it came to figuring out hardware specs.
Those sounded excellent for ceramic pups.
Alligator clips…I never would have thought of that. Thank you, Phil!
Great tip thanks, the pick ups sound great, thanks for the fantastic work
I use either SD 59 or Dimarzio super distortion. never needed anything else.
Thanks buddy
Happy anniversary
I can think of several of my guitars that would love to have those! LOL Nice...real nice!
Hey great sounding pickups Phil . Great sound on the video to.👍

How do they differ to the illuminators?
Nicely done Phil!
can you make a comparison with ibanez quantum?

Man, I realy like when you go hi-gain!
Dude you gotta try the Dimarzio filtertrons. Way more aggressive sounding than the TV Jones stuff...
The alligator clip trick is almost as good as the light layer of dish soap on lego bricks before applying the stickers.
Those sound great 👍
Well I was going to ask Ola if it would chug but Phil gave it a lil chug.
SOLD!!!
These sound great

Love that guitar, thanks!
Are we just going to ignore that Godin electric nylon in the background there!? I'd love to hear your thoughts Phil!
that Dreamcatcher is a lot less expensive if you dont order the pimped out cover. same pickup is 60.00 less
That Soldano module sounds good.
Cut a third of the spring off?
I need those...
Ceramic FTW.
Thanks for the content.
Nice!
I think it sound awsome
Smooth 🎸
No geeky mesures?
Those sounds very nice
Nice celan Tone
Very nice pick ups might sound awesome in a semi hollow ? Andrew UK
Honestly, it sounds like a humbucker. Like nothing that particularly stands out about it's character at all
They're about bling, and I think they're ugly - I say that as someone who has been buying Dimarzios since 1979. Still have my 79 Super Distortion.
I'd love to put these in my 2016 Majesty
Phill... you had a 7 string when you busted out the pickups. Thought maybe I had dranj too much
They sounded amazing then you kicked on the soldano and 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
Those are awesome! We
I have a guitar waiting for these
Just haven't bought them yet
That was really cruel, man. Now, I'll be feeling naked and vulnerable every time I pick up my Strat.😢😶😔

"Tech Tips," Phil.
make it rain
sweetwater won't ship to canada.
DiMarzio will though :)
Pick up orientation makes no difference.

This video is the best thing that ever happened to my cat. Now she has a new idol😘
