@@JoaquinsMomma only if you already use one.😀 It's not for everyone, I know. And at first I was a bit scared because of the size, too. But I personally can really recommend them strongly (she herself does it, too, in another comment). I've been using one for 8 years now, and it was a quantum leap for my life's quality. Before using one I couldn't leave the house because of strong bleeding (1 super plus per hour or less). Since I use a cup I have not to worry about finding the next public toilet within the next hour. It was like hunger games only with menstruation.😂 I can focus on my daily business now for 6-10 hours. Even my period cramps are less heavy. And it saves a lot of money. After I found the right technique for me how to insert and remove the cup I never made a mess anymore. To remove it you need to use your pelvic floor to push the cup down at first, then grab the bottom with two fingers and squeeze it to "unlock" it while still pushing, and you're good to go. 😀 It's really all about the technique and using the right cup for your body and needs. It's important to use a cup made from medical silicone only, since they don't contain any harmful substances, and have a longer lifespan. I got great advice from a German Facebook group called "Menstruationstasse" to find "my cup". I guess, there are several English speaking members open to help if you want to give it a try. 😊
I bought a menstrual cup few months ago but i was too scared to insert it 😂 i tried a couple of times but i couldn't do it. Now I'm watching this video and so many good comments. Definitely going to try again.
I've always found removal surprisingly easy and mess-free. Insertion... that's the frustrating part. But given 12 hours of leak-free comfort, TOTALLY worth it,
The c-folding works best for me. But there are a bunch of folding techniques. You can find all of them on YT. You just need a little trying. I'm positive you'll find the best one for you. The comfort is really worth it.
I agree insertion has become the most annoying part for me now and getting the suction to properly work. It can sometimes take a removal and second insertion for me to get it to even stay properly which makes me get super annoyed and frustrated. I love the cup it brings me alot more peace than tampons but thats been the biggest caveat
Not too long ago I got an ad for pads, and wondered why UA-cam thought that's relevant for me. Then I see and put two and two together. Your skits are hilarious and I can't stop watching.
True true true. Absolutely. I wish I had all these content back when my period started for the first time. It took me a hell lot of years to get used to periods and everything and the society made it worse. But nowadays, we talk about it a lot freely than we did. And as you said, who could have thought about periods being funny😂 not me
I LOVE the menstrual cup though! Unless I'm cramping it's easy to forget I'm on my period until I go to the bathroom. The only issue is that I only feel comfortable dumping it at home cuz I like to rinse it before putting it back in. It definitely helps that it can easily last a whole workday without spilling over.
Yea I prefer to take it out more often to avoid the blood bath, but at work it's so invaluable. Rather just snap on a pad in case it overflows and I don't get a chance to remove it sooner.
@@humanityandmeit's called auto dumping and my understanding is it's based on fit so it doesn't happen for everyone. I think it does for most people and it does for me. It's nice because out and about it just empties itself and then there's less blood to make a mess when I actually take it out
I love everything about this. Run the jewels as the background music, the environmental friendliness of the product, the acting. Been a cup user for years. ❤
Menstrual cups are LIFECHANGER as a student with a packed schedule and with body dysmorphia. It took some getting used to but now I almost don’t notice when I’m on my period
Same! There’s a slight learning curve but once you get it they’re great. Edit to add: I personally use the Flex cup, I like the pull tab it has that makes it more tampon-like for the removal. It can be a bit messy if I go too long without checking it but if I put it in correctly I don’t even know it’s there.
So you cant feel it? Also, does it make a mess when you take it out? I have almost a phobia about putting anything in there which is one of the reasons Im still a virgin at 33yo. Ive never even used a tampon. But Im curious if you notice/feel it when it is in or if it is ever uncomfortable?
@@charmedlilsis1been using them since 2020 and just bought my second cup this year. -you wont feel the cup inside because you only have sensation in the first inch of your vagina. -there are a variety of sizes and firmness. Hard cups open better but soft cups are generally more comfortable across the board. -do the finger test. If you put your finger in how many knuckles slide in before and during your period before you manage to touch the cervix? If its super high and you can't reach it you need a bigger cup with a longer stem, if you can barely fit in a finger then go for a smaller cup with a short stem. -cups with stems can be shortened by snipping and filing the stem a little. -its actually not that messy unless you left it in too long on a heavy flow day. But inserting and pulling it out is a learning curve. Once you have that down, around 2 to 3 cycles, you are less likely to find it messy. -you can keep it in from 2 to 12 hours and even 24 hours. -you will understand your body a lot more, for instance when you are just starting your time the cervix drops a lot and goes back up by the end so you can actually accurately time your self even if its irregular.
@charmedlilsis1 if you can't use tampons, cups probably aren't for you (they aren't for me and I can tolderate tampons when necessary) Even when folded they are a bit bigger, and difficult to get in. Getting them out requires you to insert fingers at least a bit to pinch the cup yo release the suction
I think you're the funniest UA-camr in existence, you make me laugh so much every day, thank you for all the work you put into creating these videos, I love you ❤
2 Things I've learned when going to menstrual cups (purely fyi to help other women). 1, the suction of a cup CAN cause shifting with an IUD so be aware, be careful, and brake the suction seal with your finger to easier removal. 2, bear down. If you're having trouble removing the cup because it's "up in there", bear down with your internal muscles which pushes the cup farther down to a more reachable location.
Or try the discs. They’re a great middle ground between tampons and a cup. I’ve been using them for over a decade and you couldn’t pay me to use a tampon. 😂
Also if you happen to have spotting and leaking while using a cup you might have the wrong size or that brand just doesn't work with your body. Targets brand works better for me than diva. I truly thought I wasn't ment to use a cup because I spotted so much.
This! The first time I used a cup, I had one hell of a time getting it out! The cup that works best really depends on your anatomy, so it might take some trial and error between cups. I tried three cups and two discs before finding the right product-the Flex Cup is almost so perfect, but it makes me feel like I have to pee sometimes, lol.
Try a disk. Similar concept, but you don't have to guess the size and they're easier to get out. For most people they also empty when you go to the bathroom, so you just have to make sure you go to the bathroom every few hours and you're good indefinitely. I still wash mine in the shower, though. And they make disposable ones (which can still be washed and reused but give you more management options.)
I was hesitant as well but it will change your life, not kidding. There's a bit of learning curve but once you figure it out it is a game changer. Leaks can happen if you don't put it in correctly but 9/10 there are no leaks; there's no odor to worry about; after day one, I put it in at bedtime and don't take it out until bedtime the next night--literally set it and forget it; you save money and the planet since the cups are reusable--they're silicone so you use it, rinse it out and put it back in and then at the end of your cycle, just boil some water and then soak it for a few minutes to sterilize it. I debated trying it but after one cycle I was hooked.
@herm712 I completely agree with everything you just said!! They are seriously life-changing! I'm so glad I made the switch! It did take me a couple of cycles to get the placement correct (turns out my cervix points backward, so I have to place the cup accordingly), but I absolutely love it! I don't even dread my period anymore!
The way she uses everyday items and costumes is hilarious. The pink sleeping bag always amuses me. This human-sized menstrual cup is genius- trying to fit it through the "door," sitting and filling up with red wine. Hilarious. What even is that inflatable thing in real life?
Just wanted to let you know that I LOVE your frank discussions of bodily issues, tactfully told through character comedy. It's (pun included this time) bloody brilliant, it is!
Tips for getting it out!! First push like you're trying push out some poop to get the cup to come down. When you can grab the stem, pull a bit to help get it down more. When you can grab the bottom of the cup, pinch until you hear/feel the vacuum break. Then, just pull it out! Also if you're having trouble inserting it, wetting the cup with water can help. Blood acts like a lubricant as well, but water helps with the first installment of the period. 😊
@@ApartmentC6I use this trick too! Then I put lube inside me instead of on the cup bc when Iube is on the cup it makes it so hard to fold but if it’s in me it just goes right in. Period cups are amazing, I will NEVER go back!!
Flex has one with a ring at the bottom and the stem pulls in such a way that it releases the suction when you pull! So it's super easy to hook your finger through the ring & then you don't feel like your cervix is being hoovered out of you😮💨😂 highly recommend the flex cup!
I love my cup, even despite the bloody mess when removing it. 😂 It keeps me so much more comfortable than any other hygiene product. That makes it worth to put up with the mess... even and especially when my period is so heavy I need to empty every three hours or so.

Yes! I always tell ppl to trim the stem until it's comfy. Try it with the stem first and then trim it down. I cut mine completely off. Don't need it. It's super easy to remove with or without it
My cervix is so low I literally don't need the stem LOL I trim and trim as I use until it's comfy and almost always trim the whole thing off. I've been using almost 10 years and only have bought 3 cups total. First was a Diva cup that did NOT work for my anatomy. Next after literally months of research was a Luna cup bell shaped and that was literally perfect. That one is about 8 years old and nearing the end of its life but I still use it. I have another brand smaller bell for super light days as well.
Remember to break the seal of your menstrual cup before removing them to minimize pressure on your cervix and uterus. Pulling them out without breaking the suction has been thought to contribute to pelvic organ prolapse! Stay safe! 😊
Wait sorry how do you break the suction? Is it like normal everyday items that you just squeeze to releave the suction or is there something you need to do.
@@Sydney0421 I'm not the one who posted this comment, but what I typically do is pinch the bottom of the cup between my thumb and forefinger to deform it a bit to break the seal, and then pull it down and out. I find it comes out very easily. I do worry that if it's too full the pinching may cause it to overflow, but that hasn't happened yet.
Best thing ever for me. I had to change pads every hour for the first 3 days (tampons every 2hrs) because of my PCOS but I got chaffed real quickly from either pads or tampon strings. Also hated feeling a wet pad touching me when clots came out. Cups had me covered for like 3-4hrs. I didn't feel as scared about leaking but I still wore a thin pad just in case. I could sleep and not worry about flooding my bed as much. Absolute glory for me.
Get the flex cup! They're much easier to use because they have a pull tab to break the seal. I've had one for about a year and it has been the best cup I've ever tried.

It's really all about the technique and using the right cup for your body and needs. It's important to use a cup made from medical silicone only, since they don't contain any harmful substances, and have a longer lifespan. I got great advice from a German Facebook group called "Menstruationstasse" to find "my cup". I guess, there are several English speaking members open to help if you want to give it a try. 😊
I’m watching this because I’m about to be on mine!
I find it funny her videos apper when am on my period day or close to it.
I bought a menstrual cup few months ago but i was too scared to insert it 😂 i tried a couple of times but i couldn't do it. Now I'm watching this video and so many good comments. Definitely going to try again.
All the blood jokes I can’t-
I love that people make jokes about periods, it makes me feels so much more open about it.
I've always found removal surprisingly easy and mess-free. Insertion... that's the frustrating part. But given 12 hours of leak-free comfort, TOTALLY worth it,
Girl same! Like, it takes me a minute to take out and 10 to get in. I still don't get it, lol.❤😂
@@reciterbunni4052 it's worse when you're foolish enough to be wearing false nails during your cycle.
You're not supposed to leave it in that long though, are you? You can still get TSS
I think I’m going to use your channel to homeschool my daughter about biology. 😂
Not too long ago I got an ad for pads, and wondered why UA-cam thought that's relevant for me. Then I see and put two and two together.
Your skits are hilarious and I can't stop watching.
The BUBBLES!!!! That is SO FREAKING ACCURATE 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Love how you make periods funny. Who would have thought that could ever be possible ❤
Use a flex disc! Self-emptying and you never have to worry about that!
I sometimes had to do it on my long days at the hospital, it was tough but I got used to it, I cannot insert back without washing, ever
@@skeleczarI didn’t realise discs are self emptying? How!?
@@humanityandmeit's called auto dumping and my understanding is it's based on fit so it doesn't happen for everyone. I think it does for most people and it does for me. It's nice because out and about it just empties itself and then there's less blood to make a mess when I actually take it out
As a guy, this is hilarious lmfao - I’ve never even heard of a menstrual cup, so that’s interesting. Your sense of humour is peak 😂
Ooh good to know!
@charmedlilsis1 if you can't use tampons, cups probably aren't for you (they aren't for me and I can tolderate tampons when necessary)
Even when folded they are a bit bigger, and difficult to get in. Getting them out requires you to insert fingers at least a bit to pinch the cup yo release the suction
I love these shorts! They are hilariously relatable 😂😂😂😂
She’s fucking hilarious. She doesn’t make it gross. It is a testy subject but she still manages eloquence.

@@christinehoughton8591 Yeah, it really is :)
Problems I’ll never have because I can’t even put it in

I LOVED my cup. Made life bearable and reduced dysphoria by a huge amount. Also not having to worry about waste etc. when travelling was priceless.

you’ve literally summed up the reason I’m still debating with myself over whether I should get a menstrual cup or just stick with pads and tampons
Go for it!!! MCs are the best! Just make sure you choose the right one for you. ❤
As a recent convert, your lady bits with thank you. Period pant are also amazing
The hissing... I cant omg! I'm dying! You're videos are how I picture it to go! Definitely ACCURATE! 😂😂
The way she uses everyday items and costumes is hilarious. The pink sleeping bag always amuses me. This human-sized menstrual cup is genius- trying to fit it through the "door," sitting and filling up with red wine. Hilarious.
What even is that inflatable thing in real life?

I love these…. Her videos are sooo on point 😆
I always love watching your videos. You always manage to make my day and cheer me up.
I’ve found hot water softens the silicone and make it easier to insert .
You explained that perfectly.
@@ApartmentC6I use this trick too! Then I put lube inside me instead of on the cup bc when Iube is on the cup it makes it so hard to fold but if it’s in me it just goes right in. Period cups are amazing, I will NEVER go back!!
It's not that it get stuck, it just hurts like Hell to pull out.

I love that period is treating the cup like it’s a hot tub
Flex has one with a ring at the bottom and the stem pulls in such a way that it releases the suction when you pull! So it's super easy to hook your finger through the ring & then you don't feel like your cervix is being hoovered out of you😮💨😂 highly recommend the flex cup!

@@rose2dimplesI would worry about putting bleach on anything that goes inside of you! Thank you for doing a cup skit. I've been using a cup for a few years now. Although I never get to the 12 hour mark, the cup is great.
Yeah! Me neither, I have to change it in 6 hours tops the first 2 days, otherwise it will start leaking, I wonder if I got the wrong size, but I have never given birth, so I'm not sure haha

Thank you ... I always wondered about the period cups. This was a perfect depiction 😂🌹
The first time I used one, I didn't trim the stem, violently sneezed and managed to fold the stem up into myself. That resulted in a very uncomfortable walk and an awkard gp trip 😂
Oh nooo
The stem is meant to stay so you can pull it out easier 😅
Personally I like discs more than cups.
@@samanthacallaway2276 I know that but the whole base of the cup folded so the base of the cup/top of the stem ended up pushing on the opening of my vagina. I could feel the end of the stem pushing on one side internally. Total freak accident, very uncomfortable, the nurse was astonished when she had a look lol
