@Miriam Fease I had the same issue when I first tried in several different standing and sitting positions. Eventually I had to add a tiny bit of lube to my opening, then clean my hands and dry everything else. Then I had to lay down (on a towel just in case it took awhile) and it went right in. Like surprisingly quick. Worth a shot anyway.
I saw a thousand videos on how to use a menstrual cup for months before I actually got myself to use one. I have watched your videos a hundred times and I’m glad to say IT ALL REALLY WORKS!! Thanks to you I haven’t had a single leak in my entire cycle. NOT ONE SINGLE LEAK!!!!!! My period was cleaner than when i used pads; while tampons leaked 85% of the time (set aside the sharp shooting pain). With my menstrual cup, i was more active than my regular days; I sprinted, worked out, did all i can to check out the degree of “leakproof-ness”; and it worked like magic. I’m SO GLAD I could make it happen, THANKS TO YOU @Sarah Tran
Prajakta Godse you have no idea how happy this makes me to read this!!! Congrats to a smooth transition to menstrual cups!!! I hope you spread the menstrual cup movement! Thank you for coming back to share your successful experience! I hope others read this and gain a bit of confidence that they can experience what you are experiencing!! Wooo!!!
Sarah Tran the menstrual cup movement is definitely one of my life missions now. I live in India, and it’s a bit difficult for people (especially men) to accept ANYTHING inserted inside a woman’s body like that. Though things are changing now, and i have an extremely open-minded mother; so there is hope. Menstrual cups are one of the best things i have come across in my life; it relieved me from my cramps, rashes, itchiness, diaper discomfort, odour, disturbed sleep, and so much more just cuz it freed my mind from the BURDEN of being on my period. And one of the best parts is it’s eco friendly and reusable at a fraction of the cost!!! Menstrual cups are the coconut oil of feminine hygiene! 😂 Again thanks a ton for your video 😁🤗
You can do it with long nails if you put a glove on! (One of those white thin ones for cleaning, they are usually used for cleaning. Idk how exactly they're called but it's a neat thing for lesbians with long nails as well)
It was so comforting to hear that it took you five cycles to figure it out. My third cycle with my cup is coming up this week and I’m determined to get it, but I also want to go easy on myself if I don’t.
i thought the same, which is why i was hesitant, but the vagina is super stretchy and it might be uncomfortable but it doesn't hurt and there's always space
Gijay Sorez at first i felt like it was pretty tight too but it's not like you'll hurt yourself if you're careful so a bit of squeezing your finger around the sides to check that it's open is totally fine
Hot tip: If you have a sensitive bladder or general sensitivity, you should insert it with the folded part towards your back, so when it “pops” it hits downwards instead of against your bladder.
This saved me!!! Was struggling to get the whole thing in but when I was holding it upwards it just hurts but when I finally turned it backwards suddenly it went in, not I get it when everyone said pushed towards back! This is a lifesaver thank you!!!
I tried doing it myself last month during my cycle and I cried and was so frustrated. I watched this video today and got it the first try. Thank you so much!!
Pls help me out..I am unable to insert the cup comletely in..I am able to insert only a bit more than half of it. On forcing it inside,it pains.I would be grateful to u if u could guide me .🥺😞
Watched this vid, twice and tried for about 20mins (I have long false nails) however I wore for 8 hours and was completely leak free, my liner was dry, beginners luck or great instructions?!?
I bought a cup with the ongoing hype about menstrual cups... I tried for two days, I couldn't even get it half way, because honestly I didn't know how to insert it properly, or I didn't know what position the cup is supposed to be inside my body. Every video in UA-cam just says 'insert it into your vagina and you're done" ., To be honest nothing infuriates more than that sentence! I was almost on the verge of giving up when I saw your video, it's my third day today and I am going to keep trying until I get it right, thanks to you. Really! The part where u explain, hold the cup until the bend is inside and then slowly maneuver it with fingers.. that's the part I really needed to hear.. thank you so much, thank you for giving me the courage to continue trying!
I had already give up, I bleed so much during nigh that I give it a try again and wala!!! It work for the night and I’m here again. Second period!! So I’ll stick to until got it for good
Finalllyyy did it! I bought the cup few days back after alooottt of research. And yesterday i got my period. I tried twice to insert the cup but couldn't. I think it was because my flow on day 1 is always light and also cause vaginal muscles are tight on day 1. This morning I tried and got it in one go!!! Woohoooo! I tried the punch down fold, followed her instructions and also from other 1000 videos I watched. It got in first go. The natural lubrication and reminding myself to relax every second did the trick. I checked to see if there was the seal like she said, i guess it was cause it didn't come out. Though for a minute the stem was poking me, turns out i didnt push it all the way😂 it still poking a bit, I'll have to trim the stem and see how that goes the next time I have to reinsert. I'll keep u guys updated, wish me luck on my first day of trying the cup out!🤞🏼 Update: it's been another cycle since and honestly, it was so much easier then before in the latest cycle. I am still practicing, sometimes it doesn't pop open but practice makes on perfect so yeah. Also, i got tired on my 4th day so i used a pad and it felt so weird to wear one, it was wet and uncomfortable, comparatively with a cup... The only con with cup us that sometimes it doesn't open and taking out is abit painful, other than that it really doesn't feel like u r on ur periods.
LillieGhoul you could possible need a different shaped cup. I hear the lunette is really great but you should have pain. Also be sure to relax by taking deep breaths and exhale with a relaxed face. Sounds funny but it helps
So I’m three years late, but I had to buy a cup instead of pads or tampons in the midst of the COVID-19 freakout thanks to hoarders stocking up the the apocalypse 😭 I don’t think I’d have ever got the cup up there without this video. I wish you good karma, man!
Kathleen I just bought my first one, lAst month before all this craziness happened and I’m so glad I did because I wouldn’t want to go to the store just to get pads. I still trying to get use to it but is on,y day one for me.
Omg I also got the cup because of this covid19 going on. I just started freaking out about what if you cant find pads or tampons. But I've been wanting to try it out for a long time. I'm so happy I did. No toxic chemicals to worry about and safe for the environment.
I have officially mastered this on my first cycle. Thank you!!!! by the way, this might be helpful to some: I do the push down fold as well but I insert it upside down so the part that needs to pop open is facing down which makes it so much easier. I feel the top part is too sensitive to touch.
This is my third cycle using my menstrual cup and, even though I really love my cup, I did have issues with leaking here and there - especially overnight. I was looking for a few helpful videos and this one popped up. I started using this method right away (yesterday lol) and I've had no leaking yet. Not a drop. Not even overnight. I've had no issues so far today either and I'm pretty confident that I'll be good tonight as well. So glad I came across this video, especially considered how long ago it was posted. Thanks for your tips!
I still haven't been able to get the cup to work for me. It's really frustrating me because I tried your method but it doesnt seem like it's going in! It goes in a little bit and then it starts to hurt trying to push it in even more and then it pops open too soon and it hurts Dx! I don't want to give up but this is really really hard for me and painful :/ please help! My patience is running out :(
Sameer pookot i haven’t tried using my diva cup yet but many people are saying to try different positions and see what’s best for you. it’s different for everyone !
Squeezing the cup from the bottom is a game changer for me! I'm so excited. I was so frustrated and ready to give up when I searched UA-cam and came across your video and your tips work! Thank you so much! It was truly a Godsend.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who was going to give up. I tried the first day, it worked, 2nd, no and that was after over 15 tries. I'm going to try this method. Hope it works. Fingers crossed.
You changed my life. Honestly you have no idea how I watched this video like a year and a half ago and you were that friend I needed. I am now passing this video along to a friend that really needs help. Thank you
You mastered it the 4th time? I've been practicing for a year lmao. I refuse to go back to tampons but I am so sick of bleeding everywhere. hopefully this works
This video is 4 years old but I just want to say thank you for this. I've been trying with no luck. It didn't occur to me to actively relax my muscles!
Hey Sarah! I just wanted to let you know, I did so much research before using my cup the first time and I came across your video and did exactly what you said. This has been the best experience ever! I got it in comfortably the FIRST try! Thank you so much. Life changed! #menstrualfreedom Love you!
I am so happy to hear that! And glad that I could help where I could. Thank you for coming back on here to share that! I love hearing stories like this. 💕
ive watched countless videos on how to insert a cup, this video is the game changer....Thank you so much! This video is the only one that explained how to actually insert it with out saying "fold cup and put in" and the only video that genuinely got me to get the cup in me!!!!!
Beth well, let me know how it goes! If you have troubles removing since it’s your first time, I also have a video on that ua-cam.com/video/9ER80bNu_eM/v-deo.html. There’s also a non toxic method of cleaning them as well :)
I'm 15 years old and got my first ever cup today. I tried to insert it so many times but it didnt feel right and hurt like crazy. I just found your video and was surprised you actually explain how to insert it rather than just saying fold insert and bam your done. I got it on the first try after waching your video so thank you =D
@@anandisharma3828 I actually have a high pain tolerance so it doesn't hurt me that much. It definitely does hurt a little when you insert and push on the point to open it but for me it is definitely worth the pain because i don't even notice it for the rest of the day and unlike a tampon it does not hurt at all to take it out. Hope I have helped ;D
I watched this video for the first time probably 4 or 5 years ago. I’m SO thankful I did, because the cup is the only thing that reduces my pain! That, and now I’m an EMT working 12 hour shifts. I can work my entire shift with NO problems! No leaking, no fear of the cup displacing. Thank you!!
My 3rd cycle trying the menstrual cup. I’ve watched several videos and continue to do so but your tips have made more sense than any others. I came across your video last night and today was the first time I did not have leakage. So I’d say it was a success! Thank you for explaining things well!!!!
Hi Sarah thanks a ton.. i was about to quit my menstrual cup and going back to pads but your this video saved my life. I bought MC and faced leakage issue due to heavy flow which lead me to use pads again. But after watching this video i decided to give it a try again and followed your tips. Its just so simple and perfect dear. You just fixed it in every aspect. Live to you god bless you. I respect and love my mother earth and am not gonna use pads anymore. Its my first cycle with MC and 4th day., i cant see any leak since 4 hours. Am happy that i finally achieved it. Beginners please dont stop if you face any challenges. Thanks again for what you do... Love from INDIA I am mother of 2 kids, heavy flow so opted large size with good silicon cup and yes it fits me right. No more leakage. Thanks to this girl for bringing my confidence to try cup again.
Thank you for the video. This is my second cycle with this cup, and having leaked again I was ready to toss it out. On a whim I turned to UA-cam for advice and stumbled upon your video and your tips; and so I marched back into the restroom with cup in hand. Thanks for the inspiration.
Same here.... I am also facing leaking problem.... The cup is not opening after attempting several times which causes pain to me.... I just worried about what should I do now, whether to use it or give up and go back to pad .....
OH MY GOSH THANK U SOOOO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO AND CUTTING DOWN MY LEARNING CURVE TO LIKE NOTHING!! i was watching this video on repeat couple times a month for 2-3 months before i started testing out the theory. just tried it for the first time this cycle couple days ago, the first time inserting was a little confusing, but now, 4 days into my period, i can confidently say i’ve mastered this technique thanks to you!!! the push down method is soooo clutch that when i put it in i don’t even have to stick my fingers up there to check if it’s suctioned correctly. i can just FEEL it suctioned as soon as i do it. and i’ve had NO LEAKS! even when i accidentally slept with it in overnight and kept it in for 24 hours it was fine. now i can’t imagine ever going back to tampons like i wish i had tried this out earlier. i’m telling everyone about it now i’m so hyped lol ur amazing ❤️
I am a mother of two, in her late thirties and I only recently found out about the cup, the use of the cup wasn't around when I was a teenager or even in my twenties none of my girlfriends ever used it, nor were we educated how about different methods for our menstrual cycle. I'm so grateful that my eldest daughter's generation are bringing more awareness, less shame, and normality to women's menstrual cycles and not to mention it's also bringing eco-friendly consciousness into the world. It's a little embarrassing for my age to be learning about this for the first time, but I found your video helpful well-informed and clear instructions on how the cup works. Thank you.
Thank you so much! It was my first time using the cup, and I got it in after the first try. Your video was really helpful! And I love using the cup. I did it in the bath tub, and your comment on making sure to first relax all the muscles was especially helpful. The recommendation of doing the kegel contractions while putting in and removing the cup, was also super helpful. I realize I don't have to pull or insert much with my hands, they are there just to provide a gentle tug or direction, but the big - V muscles do all the work. Thank you so much once again.
ok I have to say I bought a cup and after almost two days of leaking and watching soooo many videos I almost gave up. I came across your video and after watching it once got it and watching a second time mastered it. because of your video I mastered it so fast that I now love my cup and will never go back!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ACTUALLY PUTTING A COMPETENT VIDEO UP. haha by far easiest explanation I've come across.
I don't usually comment on videos but I really wanted to let you know how much this video helped me. I bought a cup about 2 years ago and I could never quite get the hang of it. Sometimes I would insert it and it would be fine but most of the time it would leak or it would hurt. When I got it in there good and I had to wash it out and reinsert, I could never remember exactly what I did the time before. I watched videos but I was already doing the things that were suggested and it still wasn't working out for me. I was so frustrated with it that I gave up and switched to period underwear after a few months. They work fine for me but recently I had to travel for a funeral. Unfortunately I was on my period and period underwear was not really a good option at all for the trip. So I went back to UA-cam and watched many videos on cups. Yours was the only one that gave me the instructions I needed to insert it effectively. Now I feel confident enough to start using my cup again. Thank you so much!!!
I just wanted to let you know that this video was more helpful to my daughter than the "official" one made by "DivaCup". There is no substitute for plain talk and personal expereince.
THANK YOU 👏🏼 This is my second month using the menstrual cup and the first month I was continually leaking and I became so frustrated with the whole thing. I watched your video and prepared myself for this month, and so far, leak free thanks to your tips. You’ve saved my sanity and my underwear.
I can’t believe I’m just now seeing this video. To be honest I bought the diva cup years ago and I hated it. I would leak every time. But I’m sure I didn’t master the method properly. I literally went back to tampons and pass because it was more reliable. I bought the diva cup again today to give it a try again and found your video to see if I could find a different method. It look about 15 tries if finding and trying to insert it how you did. Omg the last try just now was perfect. The key is the angle of the cup that you showed. It went right in and up and omg I am soooooo happy. I can just feel that I’m super secure and not going to leak. I just know it! Thank you so much for this video, this is seriously going to be a life changer for my period! Than you! For years I’ve wanted to master how to make the management of my period easier and leak free and this is it! The best video!
lol it hurts so much when i try to get it in (it doesn't even get in, but it hurts already). i was thinking of giving up but this girl right here told me not to give up. I'll try again. thank you
Hey Sarah...you came as an angel while I was trying to master the menstrual cup...I was on my 4th cycle still leaking on some days when I found out your video....your point on contracting the muscle while inserting worked like magic...It seemed that I might have opened the cup inside but I wasn't contracting my muscle and somehow that was leading to leakage(my cup is more on the softer side)...ensuring the cup is open while its half inside along with contracting the muscle worked like magic...apparently many vloggers mentioned about push down method while removing the cup but only you talked about contracting while inserting it and it changed the game for me! Mastered it in 4th cycle...just like you... haha...thanks a ton dear
Omgosh even though this video is 4 years ago I am so thankful of your tips and video. I have watch quite a no. of videos when I ordered my cup and yours stood out the most. My cycle finally came and I just did a ‘refresher’ on your video for my FIRST insertion. IT WORKS LIKE A CHARM. I guess I’m one of the lucky ones who gets it at one go. Literally. Once. I was surprised it worked so quickly and I took it out just to be sure. And it works again!! After feeling it ‘pop open’, can’t feel a thing after pushing it in. I’m stoked!! Thanks for this helpful video! It has helped me so much and I’m sure it will help other girls too! Other ladies who can’t seem to figure out, don’t give up!!
Sarah, I have to say THANK YOU because you made day 2 of using the diva cup for the first time MUCH less scary/confusing than the first day. I feel much more confident now and am still only in cycle 1.
This is the best description of insertion I’ve seen. I bought a June cup a few months ago and couldn’t get it to open. Well come to find out you only insert it about half way before you try to get it to open. All other videos make it seem that you push it all the way up then twist which is not at all how it’s done. The fold and method of opening in this video worked the first time I tried it. I had been ready to throw out the cups but now I love mine so far! Thank you for a perfect explanation
thank you so much! i’m a young teen who uses tampons during the day and pads at night but they’re terrible for the environment. i was never able to use my cup but this video was the most useful one yet! thank you this probably changed my life
I never ever ever respond to YT videos, but I haven't even made it out of the restroom yet and just had to leave a comment. I literally had a giggle of relief following your steps, because it made the entire insertion process a breeze and gave me so much confidence!! Ladies!! The contraction while pushing is GOLDEN advice. Thank you soooo much for your video!
This video was so helpful that I got the first insert for this period right and I got the removal right thanks to this lady. No one else has been able to explain the process so well
Thank you for this informative video. This month is the first month I try Lena cup and I almost gave up after the first day, I had to stopped my night out to switch to the back up tampon. The next morning I googled and had found your video and this method absolutely works for me, i didn’t get any leak since then! It is very selfless of you to go through 5 cycles to help somebody success on their first cycle. Thank you!!
Thank you so much. I feel like I've been alone in not managing to 'pop' it open in there! I've had my cup for YEARS, and I just haven't managed and half given up... I will not give up yet.
I have used the moon up for 4 months and until seeing this video I have mastered using it without worrying bout leaking .it's the best video around to explain how to use it.thanks alot
All I have to say is...thank you!! Im on my first cycle trying this on day 2, and it has just been difficult. With your instructions I feel like everything is going to be ok lol. I just used your instructions and reinserted the diva cup and so far so good. I also cut the stem and already it is so much more comfortable. Thank you again for this awesome video
Thank you for your tips and tricks, it does help so much. I even still debating in the beginning, “should I cut the stem or no? Will I be able to pull it out if I cut the stem?” After watching your video, I have the confidence of cutting it and it feels so much more comfortable. On top of that, it feels so much easier to insert and push it up with no stem and doing Kegel like what you said. My first trial with menstrual cup was horrible, because I got the wrong size and it is super not comfortable. It took me around 2 months to search and find a good cup and build my trust again on cup. Today is my first period using cup, and I’m on my day 2 today. So thank you so so so much for helping me with your video.
I was almost ready to give up and searched youtube frantically. Went through a few other videos and came across yours and it worked like magic. Thank you so much. I shared it with my friends, hope you don't mind.
I just got my first Menstrual cup and GURL WHEN I TELL YOU THIS VIDEO HELPEDDD bru for real tho this was my first day using it and I leaked a lot turns out the cup was unfolded on the inside I’m so glad I came across your video I’ve been leak free for 3 hours now SO DAMN HAPPY
I’m super late to the party. I’ve been using the Femmycyle (which is amazing) for the past two and half years. However, I left my cup at my parents’ and thought I’d buy the June cup, since it’s only $6, to use until I visit my parents again. I’ve never used a traditional cup and I literally sat in the bathrooms for 30 minutes watching all kinds of videos trying to figure out how the heck to get it to properly open. I’m not used to that since the Femmycyle isn’t meant to fully open. THANK GOD for your video because it was the only one I found that actually helped! I appreciate this video so, so much!
My second try w a cup in 10 yrs. Didn’t really try last time. Thank goodness I can UA-cam search everything now and thanks for taking the time to make this video. Ciao
I'm about ready to toss mine away. I've tried different folds and lubrication and can't get it to slide in without it hurting. I also can't get it to insert further in than the opening. Not a virgin and tampons don't hurt but this menstrual cup is defeating me. I keep pinching myself when I try to turn it because there's no room to feel around. Anything else that might help?
SpillMyHeartForYou so I don't have first hand experience (I'm trying out a soft cup before I commit to a long term cup) but I've read a lot of reviews. have you tried getting a smaller or softer one? I've heard the diva cup is very hard but others are softer. precious star pads reviews a crap ton of cups and talks all about cervix height, cup hardness etc. good luck!
I use the cfold method and I release the fold once I know the lip of the cup is in because it hurts like a biatch if you release BEFORE that. THEN I turn the cup and feel around to make sure it's fully open (the cup is still mostly outside of you while you're doing this). Then I bear down while pushing the cup up despite her advice to contract. After bearing down your body naturally CONTRACTS as it goes back to neutral. That dual action has helped me and once the cup is all snugly in I'm good. It also took me several cycles to get it.
So, weird tip, but here goes. Open your mouth and relax your jaw muscles, then focus on your forehead. This relaxes the vagina muscles. I know it's weird, but if you're anticipating the cup insertion, you might be tensing up. Especially if it hurt the first time (now you're expecting pain, so you're bracing for pain). You can also try a smaller cup, and I would recommend the "7 fold", it seems to be the winner with smaller openings. Last tip, try sitting if you are squatting or squatting if you are sitting. Everything I read said to squat, but once I switched to sitting I was golden. (Legs VERY far apart either way-like to the point where it's almost awkward) Once you get the first part in, make sure to "bear down" like you are trying to have a bowl movement. I hope that helps. Good luck!
bishopsgyal "Then I bear down while pushing the cup up despite her advice to contract. After bearing down your body naturally CONTRACTS as it goes back to neutral." That sounds like a great tip, thanks
So I just came across the video and I’ve had a mooncup for years and I found the process of insertion and getting it right so difficult recently I thought I need to give this a go again. I’ve had enough of pads and tampons! I followed your instructions and I’m pretty confident got it first go. Only time will tell but I will be following your steps going forward. Thank you because there are hundreds of videos but I have found this the best instructional video ♥️
I kept having that issue where it sinks down throughout the day until I can feel it. I had no idea you were supposed to flex then push it up!! Incredibly helpful video :D
This video was the difference between me quitting on the cup and loving it! Still getting the hang of it but such a huge difference in being comfortable.
Thank you so much for doing this video!! There are so many times I have said I just can't do it, but I am going to try these methods!! So glad I found your channel!
I tried for one and a half hours and it didn't work out, I thought I couldn't do this... But when I saw your video, I understood that everyone cannot do it perfectly for the first time itself, so I decided to try until it fits... Finally, I fixed it! It's was uncomfortable for some time, after that I got used to it... Thankyou so much for the video and the explanation...✨
OMGOSH! This was a life saver. THANK YOU! I've been fighting with this cup for the past 6 months, after trying in 2016 and giving up, and your method actually worked.
Thank you so much for this video. Your tip on wetting the cup before insertion REALLY helped. I'm still having issues with getting it far enough up and fully opened but I can go about 6 hours before it starts to leak. Since this is only my second cycle, I won't get too frustrated.
I got mine last month and was so frustrated with it, but near the end of my cycle I found your video and decided to give it another go next time. I've used it this cycle with your method and I haven't leaked ONCE! I love it! Idek how I lived without this now!
Wow. THANK YOU! I am so thankful that you posted this video. By learning from your trial and error process I have been very successful on my first cycle! Looking forward to being free of tampons from here on out 💕
Last time I tried the cup, I was in SO MUCH PAIN. I’m so happy that this time I got the cup in on the fourth try! Never felt more accomplish right now. Thank you so much!!!
We men, who work on DIY (Do It Yourself) jobs, sometimes run into problems too, not that kind. When this happens, we remember the saying, "When all else fails, read the instructions."
Today was my first day using it. I expected it to go smoothly, but I leaked. However, I've got some hope now after seeing your videos :) Thanks gorgeous!
+Yaske01 Ah! well I am confident you'll get it!! and when you do, be sure to come back and tell me how awesome the cup is when you get it right! :) haha
+sarahhtranTV Well, I tried again after seeing your video and I leaked again. Well, maybe I will get the hang of it in a few days, or next month :D hopefully
Thank you so much!! I have never seen more confusing instructions! I got the honey pot. I’m 44 so I’ve been done this road before with the diva cup like 8 years ago. It ALWAYS leaked and my flow was so heavy that I had to empty it like every 3 hours. It was hell. But I’m trying again bc I can’t stand the guilt of using regular tampons anymore!! That’s my story!! THANKS AGAIN DO MUCH for making it a task that no longer was unsurmountable!
Yay thanks Sarah! I was purposely saving this video for my next cycle (which happens to be today) so I'm super excited to try your technique! I shall report back soon :) and also I struggle more with pulling it out. Would love to hear your tips on that!
+Jenn Rogers good point! I didn't even think about that! In a nutshell, what I do is stick the index and thumb up... lol and grab at the bottom of the cup, pull it down slightly closer to you while squeezing and then wiggle around to break the seal. If that doesnt work, stick a finger there against the side of the cup and push the cup flat to break the seal (i find this difficult) and then pull the cup out. If it's stuck and you can't grip it and you're just tired at this point for attempting so many times, squat to the ground and grab at it.
Jenn Rogers i pinch the bottom of the cup until it breaks the seal and it usually comes out very easily after. You have to get a bit of air in there i can sometimes feel it and then i know to pull it out.
I just wanted to thank you for your amazingly instructive and simple to follow videos. I am 50 and have just bought a Mooncup and I decided to watch some videos first before trying it myself, yours are the easiest and clearest to follow by far. I've had a couple of tries and they went well but I'm not 100% sure it fully opened, I think it did but I could feel a slight indent near the base so my next try I'm going to try pushing down on the tip of the fold as you suggest. I'm actually kinda disappointed that I've just discovered these and wish I'd been using them for years. Thanks again, great videos and I've subbed.
I had another practice earlier & once it was in and I'd pressed down on the fold tip & twisted, I found that contracting my muscles & pushing up a little then bearing down & then contracting again fully opened the cup & created the seal. I heard as well as felt it so now I wait to give its maiden voyage next month!!! Thanks again for the amazing video & everyone else who left good tips in the comments.
On day 2 using the cup and had nothing but leaks yesterday, have been googling and came across this video. Explains it so well thanks I am deferentially trying these tips.
OMG I LOVE YOU! I was about to give up completely until I watched this. First time I followed your instructions it was a bit iffy but when I tried the second type of fold it was perfect. THANK YOU!
So glad I found this video. Just got mine yesterday and the first two times per pamphlet instructions were a major fail. Then I found this video and the removal video (because removal was more traumatic) and nailed it the third time in both insertion and removal. Your months of trial and error has given me success early in my first cycle. Thank you so much.
Oh my goodness Sarah! Thank you!! I've had to reinsert so many times the last two days! I didn't have leaks yesterday, but it kept coming out, and I'd have to push it back in over, and over. Today I had leaks all day, as well as having to push it back in. I was about to give up, thinking they just didn't fit me right. But I decided to watch some tutorials first. Yours was the first one I, and ONLY one I ended up watching. It's in ALL the way now! No leaks, no slipping out! Yay! 👏🏻 Thanks Sarah! thanks times a million girl!! 👏🏻👏🏻
Someone please help me. I've been trying inserting the menstrual cup but when I am halfway, it hurts so bad and I end up pulling it right away or still try to push it in but the pain is unbearable and I give up on insertion. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I already followed instructions such as to relax the muscles down there but still no good result.
Thank you so much Sarah! I tried 3 years ago thousands of times to put that thing in and didn't make it, I gave it up and suffered 3 more years without cup!! Today I tried your tip! It worked! Thank you so much! The position is also so important. I had to squat completely.
I really want to know if it's normal to "feel" the cup inside you the first few tries. Honest answers please. I tried to google and all the answers were like 'technically, you're not supposed to feel it if done right' but sometimes theory isn't always real life and i want to know the truth!
nashnasri this is my first day. I can not feel the cup inside of me once it's in. I bleed very heavily. After I had it on for 2 hours, I can actually feel the cup coming down. I went to the restroom. It was still up there but just a lot lower. I think the weight of the blood brought it down. Anyway, if you feel it, maybe it's not high enough and/or it's not opened all the way. Push it up in there. I already love it so much!! Good luck
amberacealyssa thank you so much for your reply!! i didn't give up on it and tried again for my next cycle and i realise that cutting the stem really helps to make it more comfortable :) now i don't feel it inside anymore unless the cup isn't fully opened/not properly suctioned. thank you
nashnasri oh great!! my period didn't bother me for the first time LOL. I didn't leak at all, and thank you for mentioning you cut the stem. I kinda felt it AFTER I wrote this comment to you. So now I'm gonna trim it and I hope next month will even be better...so THANK YOU :)
When it's in wrong not open all the way and the wrong size you WILL FEEL IT! Otherwise you shouldn't feel it too much at all is what I've read online. Me personally, I am at the early stages of struggling to get it to open up inside of me. Luckily I found this video. This is my second try.
I could not master the diva cup to save my life. It was incredibly painful and difficult to insert and i constantly leaked and could feel it while it was inserted. Ever since this tutorial, I've been able to nail it every single time. Its AMAZING. Thank you so much for this video, Sarah!
I been using the cup for 4 months and here is what I have learned. the cup insertion must be past the pelvic bone and the trim is left out. I used to squat and insert it but many times the cup opens before i got it passed the pelvic bone, so I have to push it in a lit bit. Then by pinching the base I can rotate it easily. This way I know the cup is in its right place. From now on I just lay down and it enters very easily. It can go very high so I just pull down the trim till I feel it cant go down no more. I hope this helps somebody
I am that somebody 🥺🥺my cup won't open when I squat or even stand. The hole is just too small for my finger to fit in when the cup is inside. So I can't actually tell Whether the cup is folded or not. I just got my cup and been trying for days, I almost gave up till I saw this video. Then your comment. I can't thank you enough. The cup literally slid in once I laid down. It wasn't painful and for the first time I am confident that the cup is open. Thank you so so much

Seriously same. I’m using it for the first time and I was balling my eyes out last night cause it kept leaking and wouldn’t open correctly!
Tabatha Conn but this vid helped a lot!! For me it’s easier now
This is the only girl who can actually explain it rather than saying "then insert, and your done" Thank you!!!!
Glad I could help!
Ikr, I'll going to try it. Everyone say, fold, push it in, twist and you are good to go. No I'm not, it failed to open.
@@brendakabanda2181 my issue exactly! I came back to UA-cam. I only need my cup for like a day or two. Sometimes I'd be good.. others not so much.
I knowwww omigosh
Again thanks a ton for your video 😁🤗
Which one do you use that doesn't leak at all?
Totto Chan i use WOW Freedom cup. I don’t know if it’s available outside India. You’ll have to check it out 😊
Plz tell me which field of theenstrual cup will you recommend for the one who use it for the first time
Short nails are a must
First full day with my Lena cup and I said that this evening...my nails must be short during my period cause insertion and long nails do not mix!!
I do it with long nails..ik the struggle
You can do it with long nails if you put a glove on! (One of those white thin ones for cleaning, they are usually used for cleaning. Idk how exactly they're called but it's a neat thing for lesbians with long nails as well)
Nasya Tan I bite my nails guess I’m sorted 😂
sunny philosopher Its called latex gloves
It was so comforting to hear that it took you five cycles to figure it out. My third cycle with my cup is coming up this week and I’m determined to get it, but I also want to go easy on myself if I don’t.
How do you girls even have space to feel for the cup inside you? Lol I feel I never have space for my cup and fingers at the same time.
same
i thought the same, which is why i was hesitant, but the vagina is super stretchy and it might be uncomfortable but it doesn't hurt and there's always space
Gijay Sorez at first i felt like it was pretty tight too but it's not like you'll hurt yourself if you're careful so a bit of squeezing your finger around the sides to check that it's open is totally fine
Maybe you have fat fingers
I try to drag it down a little then reach with one finger and press it to the cups edge then i just pull it out. It can also help to squat.
Hot tip: If you have a sensitive bladder or general sensitivity, you should insert it with the folded part towards your back, so when it “pops” it hits downwards instead of against your bladder.
This is so helpful! Thanks
This saved me!!! Was struggling to get the whole thing in but when I was holding it upwards it just hurts but when I finally turned it backwards suddenly it went in, not I get it when everyone said pushed towards back! This is a lifesaver thank you!!!
So glad it helped! 🎉 I had to try for literally years until I figured that out. Wish someone would’ve told me ‘cause it HURT 😂
I tried doing it myself last month during my cycle and I cried and was so frustrated. I watched this video today and got it the first try. Thank you so much!!

Watched this vid, twice and tried for about 20mins (I have long false nails) however I wore for 8 hours and was completely leak free, my liner was dry, beginners luck or great instructions?!?
Pray for me, I'm going to try it. I did it the first day and was good, I failed completely on the 2nd day. I'm going to try out today.
Brenda Kabanda how’d you do?
But, I'm using pads rn
I'll keep u guys updated, wish me luck on my first day of trying the cup out!🤞🏼
Update: it's been another cycle since and honestly, it was so much easier then before in the latest cycle.
First time user and thanks to you, I've been one of the lucky ones who got it on her first go!! So stoked. Thank you!
+H Loretz YAY! Congrats! :) I hope you love it!
Um Hi. I know it's 2 years later but did it hurt a lot? Because it hurts me so badly, plus it doesn't even pop open
Lucky you! I saw her video after I put it in my first time lol now I’m laying on my bed scared I did it wrong
LillieGhoul you could possible need a different shaped cup. I hear the lunette is really great but you should have pain. Also be sure to relax by taking deep breaths and exhale with a relaxed face. Sounds funny but it helps
LillieGhoul maybe you need a softer cup? :)
I did the same thing!
Omg I also got the cup because of this covid19 going on. I just started freaking out about what if you cant find pads or tampons. But I've been wanting to try it out for a long time. I'm so happy I did. No toxic chemicals to worry about and safe for the environment.
same here!!!
Kathleen 😄😄
I have officially mastered this on my first cycle. Thank you!!!! by the way, this might be helpful to some: I do the push down fold as well but I insert it upside down so the part that needs to pop open is facing down which makes it so much easier. I feel the top part is too sensitive to touch.
thank you!
I used this method! Total game changer!!
You genius
Hmm I might try this. Always looking for new methods! Thanks 😊
Ah yeah because when you try to check the top part then you are touching bone and your pee canal right? So it's uncomfortable or even painful...
My patience is running out :(
Are you sure you're angling it the right way? Maybe you're just pushing against a wall?
Same thing happens to me
Same here. This method was very painful for me.

Hi Sarah thanks a ton.. i was about to quit my menstrual cup and going back to pads but your this video saved my life. I bought MC and faced leakage issue due to heavy flow which lead me to use pads again. But after watching this video i decided to give it a try again and followed your tips.

After several fails, watched this video and I tried again and it worked! Thank you so much! Love, from Nigeria!
"While it's halfway out" omg my 103820th video and she's the first person to have said this!
ok I have to say I bought a cup and after almost two days of leaking and watching soooo many videos I almost gave up.
This is amazing! I am so glad to hear this! Thank you for sharing your experience :)
My huge goal for this year is to master the menstrual cup

Try the half diamond fold smaller insertion

I just used your instructions and reinserted the diva cup and so far so good. I also cut the stem and already it is so much more comfortable. Thank you again for this awesome video
Thank you for your tips and tricks, it does help so much. I even still debating in the beginning, “should I cut the stem or no? Will I be able to pull it out if I cut the stem?”
After watching your video, I have the confidence of cutting it and it feels so much more comfortable.
I started wearing my menstrual cup yesterday and I've had absolutely no leaks! Thank you so much!
I was almost ready to give up and searched youtube frantically. Went through a few other videos and came across yours and it worked like magic. Thank you so much. I shared it with my friends, hope you don't mind.
YAY! I GOT THE HANG OF IT!!! :)
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽😁
👍👌 awesome video!!
hey do you use your canon t3i with a different lens or the one that comes with it?
Stock lens! 18-55mm, I have a 40mm but it's not ideal for filming in this set up.
+sarahhtranTV
thanks again!
Lifesaver I watched four videos and none were as helpful as yours! Straight to the point thanks so much
I just got my first Menstrual cup and GURL WHEN I TELL YOU THIS VIDEO HELPEDDD bru for real tho this was my first day using it and I leaked a lot turns out the cup was unfolded on the inside I’m so glad I came across your video I’ve been leak free for 3 hours now SO DAMN HAPPY
Ciao
I’ve never used a cup until my last cycle and your video alone is what helped me go through my whole cycle with only one leak!!!
I've heard the diva cup is very hard but others are softer. precious star pads reviews a crap ton of cups and talks all about cervix height, cup hardness etc. good luck!
SpillMyHeartForYou yeah i would try another one as well
I use the cfold method and I release the fold once I know the lip of the cup is in because it hurts like a biatch if you release BEFORE that.
You are a lifesaver! Your demonstration works like a bomb! Thanks a million. My faith in the cup is restored thanks to you.
thank you sooo much for this video. i was truely experiencing the struggle.
Oh my God after 2 years of having the cup. You are the only one who explains it so clearly. First time using it to day. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
This video was the difference between me quitting on the cup and loving it! Still getting the hang of it but such a huge difference in being comfortable.
THANK YOU. i couldn't even insert it but the way you folded it worked for me. i was literally about to give up, this video was a godsend!!!
This works!!! Shes done it!!! Thank you so damn much!!! I’m sharing this with everyone!!! Let’s make this change!!!!!
That was the easiest and best explain instructions I’ve heard. It took me less than 3 mins.
Thank you so much for doing this video!! There are so many times I have said I just can't do it, but I am going to try these methods!! So glad I found your channel!
+Darcy Pellicano Yes do not give up!! :) be patient you'll get it! I hope these tips help you out so let me know :) x welcome to the YT fam!
This has helped me sooooo much! Got it on the 3rd try! Proud of myself! You’re the best!!
I can't get mine in 😭 it keeps popping open and coming back out and it hurts!
I'm sore 😭
Did you mastered it?
Same I can’t get it
@@maddybrown7586 I have been able to insert it, not well placed, but it is a step. I recommend you insert it all the way round (if that makes sense)
@@maddybrown7586 perior attire's videos says what I mean if you want to check it out
Beka Jadyn thank you so much! I’ll check it out!
This is really good info, I almost was in tears lastnight because I want this to work so bad! Your first technique so helpful
Wow.
I’ve just got the cup
And I’m having trouble getting it in also, watched the video so I’ll try your method tomorrow I’m hurting now from trying it. 😟
I'm on day 3 of my cycle and I found this video incredibly helpful right after I watched it I tried it and your tips definitely work, thank you!
I think the cup is bigger for you... I mean you might need a small cup
did it work for u now or did u just stop using it?
UPDATE: hey guys, it's all good now. thanks for all of your replies.
@@susieannedoromal1291 how did you resolve the pain issue?
Yes I feel mine all the time... trying to figure out what is wrong I can't live like this!
This is literally a blessing. Could never get this right but this helps so much. Saved me a lot of tears and toilet paper
AHHHHH I already bought a menstrual cup weeks ago and I just got my period and I'm scared of trying it
I could not master the diva cup to save my life.
Thank you so so much
@@kindyngode1952 omggg same here, do you mean just lay down on bed and insert it?
