THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I don't know why I can't stop overwatering. I plan to stop by my garden supply outlet to get a couple of those water testers. HUGS!
Thank you! This certainly helps. Right now, Central Florida, USA is reaching 94F temperatures.I've been in doubt of whether or not I'm over watering or dehydrating my red bell pepper plant!
Another excellent answer to the thorny questions of gardening. South Florida's erratic Volume of rain means a rain barrel is a must here to ensure your water supply is on tap when you need it. The other option, municipal water, can get too pricey!
@@TheRipeTomatoFarms Future video suggestion- how to set up a rain barrel. I bet most people make the same mistake I did & don't know to elevate it so the watering can fits under the spout. Also, the need for safety- no good to have 450lbs fall over on someone! (Sorry, I have no idea how to convert the weight for the rest of the world!)
@@TheRipeTomatoFarms I keep getting gnats I use promax in the red bag, keep it in a sealed tub, after two months I have gnats even tho I don't bring anything from the outside. Any idea as to why? Do they reproduce every two months? 🤔😐
Thanks Jeff. Quick question here. I notice that the leaves on my string beans are becoming speckled yellow. I know that there is a problem.what I don't know , is what is the problem. Can you tell me what it might be?
@@TheRipeTomatoFarms I think you are right. 👍😄 A few ways I gave them a good watering and then boom a couple of hours we got rain for hours and hours.. shouy have taken the in, they are in pots
Off topic...Strawberry 🍓 runner plants i have 3 of them. Can I clip them n repot them? If so when is the best time to clip them? Do I leave outside on the patio or do I bring them inside and placed in front of a window ? Thanks 😊
Hey Catherine! Strawberry runner video tomorrow at 9am! Although its more describing what they are rather than what to do with them. Here's a potting up video that should help you. As soon as they get root nodules on the bottom, they can be placed in water. Some go to soil right away, but I try to get roots out of them first.: ua-cam.com/video/qBEeDWanjTw/v-deo.html
So the popsicle stick is like a toothpick in a cake to test centre cooked or not 👍👍👍
It totally his! Ha ha I should have made that analogy in the video!!
Thanks for another great and super helpful video; they really brighten my day. Not all heroes wear capes.
Cheers Vanessa, thanks so much for watching and for the support! 🙂
Proper watering is probably one of the most overlooked issues in gardening 😳. Thanks for the info 😃
You're so right!

I normally just dig a small hole a couple inches down and check. I like the popsicle stick idea too!
Thanks for this, I bought one of these from your recommendation and I am really pleased with it. Simple for me to use which is what I like.
Good to hear Maggie! Happy growing! 🙂

Its definitely a tough time of year to keep everything hydrated, including ourselves!
Thank you for these videos. I'm relatively new to gardening and I find your videos so helpful ☺️🙏🏾

Totally agree Patricia.. And with this crazy weather, it's only going to be more and more important!

Do you need to check a bunch of spots or just one?
Thanks
Hi Diane, I try to check a couple of spots just to make sure, but sometimes one tells you enough.
Another use for my used popsicles sticks, gonna try it
Awesome way to recycle!

I'm trying to figure out, if my plants are overwatered or have iron chlorosis. I think both are an issue. Thanks for the tips.
Love these camera angles haha
Stupid question but are you supposed to put the moisture meter down that far? I’ve only been going down 2 inches with mine..
I think I've killed a lot of zucchini from overwatering. They turn yellow at the ends, and don't mature.. 😳
You, me, and a million other people, LOL!
