If you are one that grows indoor plants, i would recommend to opt for organic, vegan and peat-free compost, as well as organic liquid feed that does not contain sea weed due to radiation in the seas, i believe. When I lived in Oregon we had 4 huge rosemary bushes growing in our yard and we could not get rid of them when we tried one time, but then I started using it in a lot of foods we eat. We had plenty of rosemary all the time. We gave it to our neighbors too. I never watered the rosemary or anything except occasionally I would trim it when I worked in the yard. It grew all year round even in the middle of Winter.

I had grown green onions outside (bought at grocery store, directly sown root bottoms to soil) and they provided for about 2 years until a windy storm completely destroyed the entire pot.
I'm trying again, indoors and they are growing even faster this time. It's been 3 days and they are going crazy. I already had a grow light for some houseplants so green onions are just chilling in the corner of my dining area that is slowly becoming a tiny jungle in the the desert.
    :)
Indoor gardening in very, very rewarding, but word of warning, quarantine new plants before you bring them in with the others. It took me a month to save my plants from fungus gnats. Haha

I do the "single file" method with my indoor herbs. For things like dill & cilantro I do succession planting so I've always got a pot or two ready to use.
Basil is a great indoor plant that keeps producing over & over. When the plants get 5-6 sets of leaves I top off the upper 3 sets & put those into a cup of water to sprout. Those become my next crop of basil plants. Lather, rinse, repeat for endless basil...and pesto, which is easy to make & stores in the freezer indefinitely. 😋

Honestly, I tried looking at other videos and (no offence to the other content creators) they were just people not targeted towards me and were more showing off their expensive garden than actually giving me information. Your videos were perfect, made me feel that as a middle age dude I can also be a little more into nature.

When I saw your video, I got motivated again to grow basil. I bought seeds and soil potting mix. I will try your way in growing basil. Thanks a lot for your very detailed steps in growing herbs.

We are in U.S. Zone 4a Our parsley has come back every year for the past 6 years. The dill has spread from its raised bed to the yard and the edge on the driveway. You should smell that after I mow lol! I think the original seed was planted 8 years ago. I started sage this past spring from seed. The seed came from Italy and is supposed to be good to minus 30 degrees F. It was from the Piedmont area. I had started the same seed many years ago and the plants lasted about 15 years then they died out. I took cutting off my 2 rosemary shrubs to save buying them again. I hope it works...never have done it before. I did 6 rose bush cutting too for my wife...we'll see how that turns out too. A Huge thumbs up for this vid. I always enjoy your knowledge. Take care!
