Ok, how can I get one of these to put into my GTM kit car? I am ready to put a DCT into it. Please provide info as to where I can buy a unit along with the required controller.
Considering that there are more C8s out there than all other DCT-equipped sports cars combined, I'm not surprised their issues were more visible. But I thought GM had worked through all the bugs.
@@spdcrzy That is a wildly inaccurate statement. There are in fact not "more C8s out there than all other DCT-equipped sports cars combined." BMW has been using DCTs for over a decade, Audi has been using DCTs for over a decade, VW has been using DCTs for over 20 years, Mitsubishi put a DCT in the Evo X, and there are numerous other applications that have been using this technology for years. The issues that the C8 corvette is experiencing is a GM issue, not an issue with the DCT technology.
@@bitzer8722 The C8 DCTs handle WAYYYY more torque than any of those DCTs. The one exception to this rule is the DCT that was made for the Veyron - the DSG had pitiful torque handling capability. Have you forgotten that BMW made the move to the ZF 8HP specifically because they couldn't figure out how to get the DCT to hold any more torque? And even the 8HP can only handle so much, too.
The early 2020, 2021 cars had issues with the DCT. Current cars are relatively problem free. There will always be a few issues but no where near the numbers they were seeing in 2020/2021 and no where near the numbers some other brands are seeing.

I hope GM releases an unencrypted controller in the future and offer the DCT as crate component

Nope. These transmissions are not reliable.
