Best transmition I ve ever had. The car glides smoothly in day to day driving, and on the other hand, changes gear really fast in sporty driving and its not lazy in low speeds, like lots of dcts and most of Volkswagen groups' DCTs
I am just amazed, completely blown away. So many processes, so much automation, so many moving parts, such high precision, how do they do it? i mean where does one start? Hats off to german engineering, the world would be so much poorer without it.
I have one of these on a 180D and it is superb. I also have one from VW group on a 1.0 petrol car and the difference is in the smoothness when in manual shifting gears. The Mercedes DTC allows a smooth manual downshift while in the VW there is always a bump, so I need to use brakes to counter this.
I hope MB have much more luck than Getrag with “powershit” and some ZFs Magna (getrag) broken DCTs 450/470 owners around the world and help AISIN and Jatco spreads the boring and laziness AT/ CVTs
Not a mention of the slipping clutches and failures on here so i thought i would mention it also some recalls and software updates i have 7spd dct and it slips in reverse so no its not a perfect transmission do your research before you say it is 👎👎👎
The real genius is the engineers who set all the machines up. And testing the line and teaching the workers it must be quite the process.

It's no different inside GM or Ford or Toyota or Most every car factory today.
