I'm really late to this, but I completely agree. I don't sew much, but I'll be trying this and if I make it through (lol) I'll make a few. So easy to understand these instructions! 😊
Jersey, and only natural fabrics such as cotton, knit fabrics are best as they are more comfortable and have natural stretch. You can use cotton jersey with a small percentage of spandex for stretch and recovery too - for babies that are crawling.
@@PrincessofKeys I forgot to mention that organic fabrics are also popular for baby wear - if you are making non stretch garments then organic cotton is perfect as it is soft and absorbent - have fun and you can find lots more info on my blog page at www.modeliste-creative.com
Here is the link to part 1 of the video where I draft the pattern using my baby onesie block, I hope this helps - ua-cam.com/video/_lU7Gtmxppg/v-deo.html
Good morning. I watch your video and the most I like you made mistakes and dont trim this from video.. we all do mistakes and its normal. I try sew bodysuit.. thanks a lot🥰🥰
Take a look in my Etsy shop - with this link - www.etsy.com/uk/shop/ModelisteCreative I sell basic blocks, so not technically patterns, so there is no seam allowance added, but that is simple to do. Many thanks for asking - Nicola
What is this exact fabric? I’m new to sewing and get confused on fabric. I love the look of it. Is it cotton jersey, cotton Lycra, polyester etc? Am I way off?😂 Sorry I’ve really no idea but I really want this type of fabric! It looks like it feels really nice. Thankyou 😊
confused by your advice to use longest stitch for staystitching? it is supposed to be a shorter stitch length, to stabilize the edge and not allow stretching.
A short stitch on stretch fabric will cram too many stitches into the fabric structure and make it stretch too much and become wavy so for Lycra based fabric less stitches, so that means longer stitches are best.
When you make sewing videos can you use to American words for things also? Like for poppers we call them snaps and the awl that you call something with a b. I would appreciate it because if I didn’t know what they are already I would be lost trying to buy them lol. So other people watching would understand you better too and also I plan to watch more of your videos so If I don’t know what something is I won’t have trouble finding it after lol. Thank you so much for sharing your experience
My pleasure!
loved this video and you explained everything perfectly. I would love to know the pattern name of this fabric, it is beautiful for this baby onsie.
I purchased this fabric in France quite some time ago, I am not sure of the manufacturers name, it is very beautiful though!
Great Video! Can you tell me what kind of needle did you use?
A stretch fabric needle.
I use a ball point needle or s stretch needle is great too.
I agree with the other comments below. Great Video. Thank you !!!
Thanks for watching! It is much appreciated - I hope to be creating some more videos like this one soon!
صباح الخير سيدتي الكريمة ارجوكي انا اريد ان اعرف القياسات عندما تفصلين بالباترون
I want to make one in an adult size
It would be exactly the same methods but on a larger scale!
Thank you again so informative!

🎉pls tell measurements and so cute baby Rompur thankful 💕
I am using my baby romper body block, you can find all the details in my Etsy shop. Many thanks for your message, Nicola
I would like to see how I could add an extension with 2 rows of snaps so it can be worn longer through more than one size.
I am sure that would be possible technically but may be a little bit bulky for the baby to wear.
I have a book on using snaps, ( it’s a snap by Jeanine Twigg ) they have a section on making a onesie snap extender. Maybe you could find on line
do you recommend always sewing and then serging?
It really depends on the fabric used, but serging is great if you have a knit fabric.
What kinds of fabrics do you recommend for baby clothes?
Jersey, and only natural fabrics such as cotton, knit fabrics are best as they are more comfortable and have natural stretch. You can use cotton jersey with a small percentage of spandex for stretch and recovery too - for babies that are crawling.
@@ModelisteCreative Thank you for the info I'll be on the look out fkr those types of fabrics.

@@ModelisteCreative thank you I'll have a look at it!
Thank you for doing this video, found it very helpful. You didn’t say how wide a binding did you use. I used 1 1/2”, I think it’s to small
You can cut a 2 inch strip and press/sew on half and inch
The width is really up to you and also depends on the fabric used and your sewing level, but feel free to experiment.
Very detailed. Thank you.

Hi there, thanks for this. any tips on how to detach the poppers, if you installed them incorrectly?
Ooops! I hope you managed to prize them off without damaging the fabric!
So cute! Thank you!
Thank you too!

how to draw the pattern please?
You can look at the first video in the series to do this.
Yes if you look at video 1 in the series on my channel you will see me making the pattern too.
Is this a new born size ?
It comes in new born to 18 months.
Thank you x
Yes. But the techniques apply to all sizes.

sophie francis it is a good quality cotton jersey, a thicker one than I would normally use, but ideal for babies.

Best not to cram too many stitches into a knit fabric, very true!
All six of my thumbs are full of pin pricks but I can do this!
Try clips - much better than pins for baby clothing!
Thank you amazing
