You guys should do a vid about “if I was stranded on an island which products I would want” something like that were you have to only choose one of each category of skincare product
I like the concept of having a "calming" side and "active" side of toners, it sounds like such a practical and effective way of managing your toner products in general (for oily-combo to acne-prone skin types, at least). Gotta try it out for myself
This could not have come at a perfect time. Fel I’m obsessed with you! You’re so positive and transparent when discussing your breakouts it makes me feel so positive about dealing with mine. A lot of your approaches have helped me 💖 sending love
@@acutepuncturist Mario badescu is so a$$ tho :( ur just spraying fragrance on ur face. I would say on days you want hydration just skip the toning step completely and use an additional hydrating serum like the hyaluronic acid one from the ordinary!!
If it comes down to one toner, for me I'd go for a hydrating one or hydrating with mild acid percentage that I can use everyday. But actually I think we really just need 2 and not more. One hydrating/calming and one for exfoliating twice a week.
NARS sheer glow foundation is awesome and it offers medium to full coverage and the formulation covers my acne and hyperpigmentation and it looks completely smooth. I don’t know how they do it, but I guess that’s why it’s around $45
I love how you tell us about your skin type. So your viewers will know if these products will be for their skin type. Instead of blindly buying stuffs thats not even for their skin type.

My all time favorite toner has to be rose water. It soothes and calms my sensitive, acne prone skin like no other toners. The heavenly smell of Rose is the cherry on top😊
Rose water is actually not good for your skin. And you shouldn’t be using toners that have fragrances(whether natural or not). Check out the UA-camr named Dr Dray. She has a couple of videos explaining how the rose water thing is just hype.
I use cosrx aha bha toner as my exfoliant then thayers rose petal as my hydrating and soothing toner. I started using this combination for a week *I think so* and find out that my skin feel so good. This is my first time using chemical exfoliant and yes for first 2 days it does sting little bit but it is alright. Plus less breakout for sure! Thank god I found Beauty Within. Thankyou
i love toner, it's probably my favorite product and step. i have normal to dry skin, but a lot of moisturizers that are 'meant' for my skin type... clog my pores, i prefer to use moisturizers that are 'meant' for combo to oily skin, and get extra hydration or exfoliating benefits from my toners, and do more layering to get hydration in my skin.
Thank you so much for this video, large pores has always been an issue in my family and I’ve been wanting to get a toner that can help with that. This was really helpful thank you🥺 also can you please do a video on how to look at the ingredient list of a product!
That's why the 7% glycolic acid toner from The Ordinary is always a good one to set aside and it's only $7. Which y'all have featured before. It should've been on that list. I'd also probably go with NeoGen over Peter Thomas Roth, although they DO have a great cucumber gel that I'm obsessed with right now. ELF also does a good exfoliating toner with AHAs and fruit enzymes and it's like $8.
I can only afford the Somebymi toner lol. However i love this toner so much. Last week my skin flared up and i have quite severe redness and acnes which idk why. So i decided to buy the some by mi miracle kit (it has 4 minis; cleanser, toner, serum nd moisturizer). And ive been using this kit for a week now. Im really satisfied with the result! My skin has calmed down a lot. My pores reduced and less oily. finally i made best decision to treat my skin. *(my skin has always been red due to PIE, it never really fades with using other product. But using some by mi, even my mom said my skin has become better with the redness) im so happpy!
Who else wants a video on where you guys get all the products? Is there a skincare sephora out there with lots of these brands? I just hate going brand to brand only to get one thing
Bai Queenie Lauban I started the cerave salicylic acid cleanser and a BHA toner. I started by only putting on toner every other night. I would start there and then build your intensity. Going all in might be too harsh...it’s best to let your skin get used to it. And I use the face wash 2x/day, if I wash it more than 2x/day with that wash it makes my skin sensitive. But 2x/day is good and doesn’t make my face dry or sensitive. I have acne prone sensitive combination skin.
I believe that I have hyperpigmentation. Since I did have acne before and now what is left is those red and brown spots underneath my skin. I’m really trying to get rid of them and I don’t know what products to use that are really effective Products I’ve used: 1. “The Ordinary” Lactic Acid 10%+HA 2. Tretinoin 0.025 Cream (prescription) 3. “The Ordinary” Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% 4. “The Ordinary” Niacinamide 10%+Zinc1%
Love Kale-Lalu-yAHA! I have the exact same skin type as Felicia and I usually default to this toner, almost daily. When I use more aggressive toners for my breakouts like REN or Some By Mi, I like to follow by a calming ampule, e.g. the one that girls recommended some time ago - Isntree Mugwort. I sometimes can't really tell if ampules do anything but this one has been great and I'll definitely be repurchasing it. Isntree brand overall has been such a great discovery. Thank you, Beauty Within!
Since quarantine, I've broken out a lot from stress and bad diet. I ended up ordering the Glow Recipe toner, can't wait to try it out! Thanks so much for the recommendations, Fel!
I love the Paula's Choice BHA Toner but I find it really expensive. So recently I've switched to the cosrx bha blackhead power liquid and I've been really enjoying that one.
I've been using the cosrx one for nearly two weeks now. It is so gentle that I've started using it nightly. But when I say gentle I don't mean that it's not very effective. Trust me. This shit's crazy. A day after using it I will notice new pimples which will come to a head and heal quickly. It's amazing. But yeah, it definitely causes purging. I thought I wouldn't purge because I've used it 2-3 times in a row without pimples growing but then it hit me like a truck. And also, it being a chemical exfoliant but still gives me a dewy look after 15-30 minutes of applying and waiting still surprises me. It's more hydrating than my toner ahahahh.
I personally didn't feel like the Paula's Choice ones is stronger. It hits hard in the beginning because that was the first bha I've used, but besides that the cosrx does the same job for me.
Hi, there are alot Asian beauty products in your mentions, I am so happy with that, I am Asian and your recommendations fit me so well. This time I want to bring up Be Plain, they are now on fire in Korean, their philosophy is simple, nature-inspired and NO essential oils. I want to recommend the brand to you as soon as I come across their packaging, it is going to fit really well with your Beauty Within's graphic design vids and photos. I bet you two going to like their Chamomile pH-balanced toner, because it is very soothing and moisturizing. But for the whole profile, their products is going to fit Fel more since you have oily skin, as I feel like, they are LIGHT. Anyways, the most recommendable product from the brand would be the Greenful pH-balanced cleansing foam, it cleans without stripping but still effective, gentle but shockingly cleansed, some feedbacks mentioned the cleanser alone clear their acnes. Love to you!!!
Paula’s Choice would probably prefer you use a toner, then the BHA Liquid. If I use a toner, it’s for a first layer of moisture, and the BHA liquid provides that.
I have definitely added some of these to my cart! Are there any videos specifically on sunscreen? Or could you guys specifically do one on sunscreen please!
Does Rowena do these kinds of videos too because she has dry combo skin and it would be really nice to see some products for us dry and sensitive and dry combo girlies.

I love your guys' content! Fel! You should make a vid / include in a vid like this about what kind of serums/lotions go well after using said toners!!! I have a very similar skin type. I'd love to know your immediate skincare routine when you breakout 💕
Really love the idea of using an acid based toner during breakout days and then switching to a hydrating one when the skin feels dry or irritated and then switching back to the acid until the acne is gone. But in one video, Felicia told us that we shouldn't switch products too often so I'm pretty lost. What should I really do now?
How do you pick between an exfoliating toner vs an exfoliating cleanser? Do you use both or just one at a time? When would you choose a exfoliating cleanser over an exfoliating toner if at all?
Okay I’ve been using my toners completely opposite. When I get acne, I use my calming toners and when the acne has cleared I use my ‘active’ toners to clear the scarring and blemishes. Should I be switching it the other way round? 😅
Which one would you highly recommend for acne combo skin for daily/night time use? It's alot of toners to choose from lol. I have tried many toners and products and doesn't seem to work or it works for a while and then stops.

One of my favourite is ABP by Purito. The consistency is a little bit like a gel, again with AHA, BHA and PHA and Centella. Amazing even for daily use as the percentage of actives is not high. For urgent, terrible situations I am going with Glamglow Supertoner - amazingly effective but contains alcohol, so it is extremely potent. I am with acne-prone skin and have no sensitivity to anything (except litchi extract).
I would also recommend the Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Toner. Its a K-Beauty brand Its formulated with a high percentage of Centella Asiatica + they don't contain any fragrance. And their packaging really reminds me of Glow Recipe. Minimal, elegant and its in a glass bottle too.

i used the purito toner and had like a massive breakout, I was using it 6 weeks in case it purge but it wasn't it just kept on getting worse. I had like small bumps around chin and mouth, my cheeks got red and broke out, at one point it was really red and inflamed. You might want to check the ingredients before you buy the toner if you have oily skin
I have combination skin with blackheads & whiteheads, large pores & pigmentation but I don’t break out. Is the some by mi ok to use? Is it safe for breastfeeding moms? How often do i use it in a week? The paula’s choice booster, can u use it with the exfoliating toners as well? Thank you!!
Do you apply moisturizer after applying the tonic and the pads with salicylic acid? The video was veryyyy rich with information, especially for someone like me who is starting with skin care 🤭😍😍😍 And one more question... How many times per week I can use the toner Some by mi?

i used the purito toner and had like a massive breakout, I was using it 6 weeks in case it purge but it wasn't it just kept on getting worse. I had like small bumps around chin and mouth, my cheeks got red and broke out, at one point it was really red and inflamed.

I have combination skin with blackheads & whiteheads, large pores & pigmentation but I don’t break out. Is the some by mi ok to use? Is it safe for breastfeeding moms? How often do i use it in a week? The paula’s choice booster, can u use it with the exfoliating toners as well? Thank you!!

an idea i would love to see content wise is a video of products featuring more uncommon/new ingredients arranged by price or intensity/percentage... like watermelon, cactus water, deep sea water, rice proteins, coconut water etc. I really want to find more products with cactus for sure!! Thanks for all the content you guys make for us
Go for the Huxley products, soooo good and not super expensive
