  • Boeing is facing more trouble after two more of its passenger planes were at the centre of two separate, dangerous incidents, adding to the list of concerns about manufacturer.
One malfunction saw a plane’s tire burst during landing in Turkey, while the other skidded off the runway in Senegal.
Neetu Garcha reports on the latest scares, as another whistleblower accuses Boeing of turning a blind eye on safety.

Seriously, people need to chill out. I completely agree that Boeing, as a company, needs to dramatically redefine it’s safety culture with respect to how it designs and builds current aircraft, but every time there is an incident across the globe involving a Boeing aircraft, the media frenzy is ridiculous.
This plane was over 30 years old. The Fedex nose gear incident similarly involved an older plane. There is no indication a design flaw was involved in either incident - it could have been poor maintenance, pilot error, poor training - who knows?
Imagine if you owned a Ford Taurus in the 90s, and sold it to someone else. Then 30 years later you learn that the vehicle was still on the road, and had been involved in a fatal accident due to the brakes being in bad shape. Are you responsible? Of course not. Was the design of the brakes defective? No. Someone just didn’t do preventive maintenance.
When a ship sinks, or a train derails, notice we never hear about the model of car, train or ship?
