How the hell does your emborchure hold up for 18 minutes
Let alone the growls lol when i try to do melodic growling like that for longer than 30 seconds i start gagging and homie is doing it for 17 minutes straight
Throughout the whole song it made me feel deprived of breath
Wait is he making all of the sound including the drums and vocals at the same time??
Yes he is. He's got mics on the valves to mimic percussion, and hums/yells into the sax for polyphony.
@@Tschungermeister that's crazy!! I was so confused at first cause I thought he was just droning a single note for 15 minutes lol
@@infinitegut plus he has a contact mic on his throat to better pick up his singing
It's always a pleasure to see him get that monster of a saxophone out and shake the roof
This music is truly special and has opened a channel in my soul. I can't put it all into words. Endless colors of emotion encoded into these vibrations. I live with a horrid disease that has rendered me useless. It has taken everything from me. I still have music though. My darkest moments in pain and suffering are made still with the power of music. The voices of angels and the groan of demons all in perfectly synchronous symphony of mathematic perfection! Music is the voice of our souls and those souls are all connected. The music of Colin frees my mind from the weight and hell of this world! I feel connected to the world and the sounds he makes with his sax are perfect audio analogs for our human emotions. Thank you Mr. Stetson you are a genius!!
Thank you too, for sharing this unique viewpoint to us.
This. Absolutely this. I am disabled and spend a lot of time bed ridden. I suffer from anxiety, depression, and PTSD. In Colin’s music I find relief on my worst days. Truly something special.
@@SimnovoriiLurve We all have a cross to bare I guess. I'm sorry, I know it well! I too have had to take on extreme depression, losing the ability to walk, work and some days dress myself come with some heavy emotion. Never being able to drive again was one that really dented my sense of self and pride. I'm sorry you are suffering and hope you find more music to free you from darkness! I'm proud my comment resonated with you! I battled depression and fear of basically everything growing up. I got through it. Don't let it hold you back!! Art was my life saver. Highest blessings and I truly hope you find peace!
Edit: PTSD is real and devastating!! It sounds like we both picked the tough school down here, we must be f*****g tough!
@@luke144 I don't know if you're alive or not. But I have something similar to depression too. I hope you get better.
@@helloworld7818 I'm still here! ❤️
Just saw him perform this at the Chapel in SF last night. Truly breathtaking. The video cannot capture how much harmonic richness is coming from that sax. Like a tidal wave of harmonics. If you have the chance to see him live, don’t sleep on it!
This might be the most incredible display of musicial talent I have ever seen in my entire life.
nice piano drop
As a saxophone expert, this guy might secretly be the best sax player of all time, and definitely the most original. The technique he is using for many parts of this song is actually insanely difficult.
Even though i dont care about sax players, Colin is a sight to behold. He is basically emulating an orchestra with a fu****g sax.
@Summonick2 Basically Aboriginal didgeridoo players have been using these techniques (circulair breathing, using voice in a wind instrument) for ages allready. Just check it for instance this didge player ua-cam.com/video/VaFl7tkVGZk/v-deo.html . Nevertheless Colin has created a truly unique sound on a copper wind instrument
@@marionow6227 right yeah, I’ve known of these techniques and their origin. Performing them
At a consistent level on the various saxophones he makes use of is truly remarkable; I’ve personally met and played with several of the best sax players of our time and even they are not quite capable of this sort of thing
@@Summonick2 When you see him live, you look for the other musicians. It is so hard to believe that it is one man alone who does it all. The circular breathing, didgeridoo-like, is incredible.
@@ComeOnAndSingMySong ah man, sounds so cool to see him live. It’s honestly incredible. There’s people like brecker etc that are legends, but this guy I honestly believe is like the strongest individual musician I’ve ever seen
I still cant comprehend how the hell is he playing one instrument yet it sounds like a whole damn band playing it
play and sing at the same time.
This music is so primative yet Fututistic at the same time. It would be so sick to use this music in the next DUNE movie.
Please yes
Bro.
Dune was the first thing that came to my mind as well
Unbelievable work. I've never seen a greater showcase to one's personal achievement and passion.
this is one of your best if not the best
Right
Agreed, it's a fucking masterpiece. It's on his latest record (along with the other unreleased piece from this very session) - I think it may be his best record yet.
There's this moment where it hits you that there is no actual choir or backing vocals or drums of any kind and that Colin's the one making those sounds.
That's the moment you realize that this guy isn't just some jazz musician.
Sounds like ritualistic tribal dance. The second half is amazing!
Can't wait for the album
Homie playing drums on brass and I’m like 😳😳😳😳
Never seen anything remotely close to this guy!!! 🥊
My favorite song off of this performance. The way the trepidations of his breathing seamlessly weave into the second part with the percussion at 9:28 makes me feel things that are hard put into words.
Watch out Zimmer, Stetson is coming for you 😏
Your music was just featured in an outro of a video game series for a UA-camr your talent will be recognized friend and will be spread across my personal circle
@@LazarusBell jfj Elden ring
I literally discovered this masterpiece through JFJ's Elden Ring video
I’m real excited for this one to release!
This composition have cleaned my soul so deeply.
when colin hits you with the bum TA bum TA bum TA bum TA
this is intense.
im telling my kids this was the epic sax guy
I’m waiting for this to be released.
Guess what
I saw this live at Hackney Round Chapel and it was the most intense experience i've ever had. Breathtaking.
He has been possessed by Paimon, of that I am certain
Your music always inspired me in my work, thank you so much for creating.
I've no idea why this was never officially released. It's amazing.
This track and "The love it took to leave you" will be on his upcoming album
@@9spheresaw him last night, and holy shit I can't wait for everyone to hear the track "The Six" when it's released
@@axelg5 its so goooooood
good news babey
Welp, I know what I'm going to be listening to, on a loop, for the next decade.
A cure for my ears
With these earbuds, I can FEEL the vibrations of the sax across my body, my gosh, this guy is a musical magician
the experience of seeing him live is beyond description; you feel it in your bones
Just revistited this and tripped balls for 20 minutes. Thanks man -- the way you actually perform the sounds we're hearing is so insanely cool, giant kudos.
100% it's like a psychedelic trip while being totally sober.
I cannot wait for this to be released
It's out now - hope you enjoy! I certainly am.
@@el_mal_de_ojo I’m listening to it as I type this comment! Stetson can do no wrong. Beautiful album. Glad to be in like-minded company :)
finally released. uururrghhhhfff wowww wowe wowie wow wow. yeah
Blessed to see this man live for the third time tonight, first time on acid, planned to perfection: dropped 2.5 tabs at 7:15PM, the comeup was with the supporting act, and hit the peak with Colin's utterly sublime performance. Cannot be explained how absolutely mind blowing, on whatever drug you want or even better, totally sober, the experience is. Union Chapel acoustics were perfect, a truly truly truly special performance.
God bless him . I fucking love this guy
i fucking love this guy
I swear i don't know how he can make a sax sound like something robotic, and also like if there's much more instruments.... damn he is just so creative and talented
Really good circular breathing man!! Serious skill & talent!!! Thank you for YOU!!!!
Wonderful performance.
His music has something spiritual
What a style
Does this man have any lungs
you learn some bad ass breathing when you're in woodwinds.
He does have lungs, he simply grew another pair of them
He just runs on a compressor
So beautiful. The technique he has is awesome.
Cruzando el río Estigia..
Unbelievable
I hope he unlocks the sound force so he can show us the way!
i need this on apple music
Amazing Beehive buzzz, could listen to this for hours!
Imagine this guy opening for Meshuggah. The perfect blend.
💯👏❤️🎷
he sounds exactly like a lawn mower outside my house in the beginning
what a hunk
Truly remarkable
I was going to like this but there are 444 likes and I don't want to ruin it.
And on a bass sax of all horns. Jeezus
massive
Some heavy shit 😂
I feel a lot of waves like the aphonic voices, it's very impressive, hats off to the artist

Браво! Такие как он- побеждают электронную музыку!
your music is straight up fly brother
Meditative. An absolutely incredible musician.
Oh Collin..You are not of this world..
I would love to hear studio version.
i think i would still like the raw sound of this version better
This is insane
F@ckin' hell!!!🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
