1:21 Spindrift (All This I Do For Glory) 12:36 Behind the sky (WWWTWWftS; performance version) 19:31 When we were that what wept for the sea (WWWTWWftS) 24:53 The love it took to leave you (Unreleased; Glory II?) 34:05 Safe with me (WWWTWWftS) 41:20 A dream of water (New History Warfare Vol.2) 45:24 Strike your forge and grin (Unreleased; Glory II?)
No one can copy him because his approach involves performing several extended techniques all at the same time, and it's physically difficult and exhausting. Notice how fit he looks? Besides being a great musician, he's almost as great an athlete - and he HAS to be to play that stuff.
This is incredible. Newb to Colin's work, help me here...all the sax playing is live, yes? But the reverbed vocals (at the 6min+ mark for ex.) are triggered? By someone else? His feet? Or he's singing as he plays? [I don't think so]. But what a beautiful, superhuman, [but also sooo human] sound. So wish I could have made this show. :( But thank you so much for sharing it.
It is entirely live, acoustic (regular mic on sax bell + contact mics on sax and his throat), and all him. No audio effects, no looper, no backing track, no one behind the curtain. Nothing triggered - except our amazement and joy that such an original talent exists on this Earth.
El mejor saxonista de todos los tiempos, grande Colin❤
The way he is able to make it sound like Doppler effect is happening despite him just standing there is so astonishing.

@James Hardacre I think you're probably right; in my mind, that's what In The Clinches is as well.
Now that the album came out, the first unknown is Behind the sky and the second is Safe with me
@@magicalhippo Thank you for not only pointing these out but also alerting me the album is out. Currently listening. Holy fuck the catharsis.
@@EvE-zenbymr the album is awesome
@@EvE-zenbymr yeah the track really sounds like In the Clinches with a long intro. Behind the Sky just might be Colin's hardest track, more than Brute
Top 10 concerts of my life
Saw him in Portland last month, still think about how powerful it was to this day.
I joined a friend who was going to this concert when I visited Victoria... ended up being the best live performance I've ever experienced.
All hail our lord and Savior Colin Stetson 🙏
Best Sax performance ever. While the visuals could use a touch more magic, the music itself is absolutely mesmerizing.
That show was a spiritual experience!
Better with a bong
His performance of Safe with me is transcendental
Genius of extended sax technique. Rare talent.❤
I saw him in Belfast and it was astonishing. They say imitation is the best form of flattery, but no one can copy him!

So good to watch this... Awesome as always! Please release "the love it took to leave you"!!!
Can't believe I missed this :(. Somehow passed me by. Thank you kindly for recording. Thanks Colin.
Pure sonic magic
Beautiful beyond words

He's singing in to his sax while playing. He's unreal!!
@@jesperankarfeldt He also has a contact microphone on his throat, which catches his vocalizations.

Amazing. Aer you using a looper or is it a backing track?
