I really love how you show that you can update things in your space gradually and with thought instead of all at once. I think that there are a lot of videos available where people move or buy a new place and totally renovate it before moving in, which is not always viable or realistic.

It's so interesting...I'm also sleeping later. The other morning I woke up at 8:30! Wow! I usually get up at 6am. I do believer that our bodies "tell" us when we need the extra rest and thankfully, I'm retired so I no longer have to fight it. Love your new place!

I get all misty eyed hearing you speak about your two almost 18-year old kitty cats. My 20 year old Mister Fluffy died a while back and I miss him a lot. I've since adopted a new kitty, and love him so much- but there is something about getting to see your beloved cat grow old happily that I miss dearly. It was hard to realize his getting older also meant having to let him go one day, but man, do I love an older cat. All this to say - big hugs from me to Mini and Bonus. I hope they have many wonderful years left with you.
Once I got over the guilt, I realized that my best sleep in between 3:00 and 7:00 or 8:00 am. I no longer want to get up in the dark. I wait for the sun.
I started watching two days ago and since then I have finished three little projects I had been putting off for no reason. So relaxing watching you get stuff done. I’ve been in my new home for four years and I’m still working on making it my own….even redoing a few things I did when I first moved in just to get it the way it suits me now that I’ve been in the space fir four years.

I also love how you show us all of your tools and gears that some minimalists hide... it's perfectly normal and minimal to have all that stuff to get things done in a house! I recently renovated my house in the countryside and everytime I can I go there to add my personal touches. Though I liked the place you moved from much better, sorry. The new place seems tiny, dark and with very little storage space. The patio you had was fantastic. Also, your attention-to-detail calms my soul! I find your living style very relatable. I am in the process of trying to emigrate (from the U.K.) to Sweden, where I hope to spend the rest of my life. Sometimes the process is so mentally and emotionally draining, but these videos help me to envision my life out there and keep me focused on my goal.

Benita, Putting the customized mat up against the balcony doors is a great idea. It serves as a place to wipe your feet, place wet shoes, a cat scratching mat and it may block any cold air that wants to leak into the apartment. You most likely already thought of this, but in the future, when the mat needs to be replaced, you could use the back of the the old one as a template for cutting the replacement mat. Doing this will save you from having to remeasure.

Nice to see all the things you are doing to your new apartment. Love the bedroom drapes. I too had drapes and then went to blinds and miss my drapes so much. I had the black out drapes from Ikea. When you show us your drapes, can you show us the rod you installed. I am seriously thinking after seeing your drapes to go back to that idea. More cozy for sure. Thanks for the Ikea ideas just to upgrade things a bit. I like your new bathroom vanity handles, mine too, are so old fashioned and like the ones you purchased. Can’t wait to see more. Oh GENIUS...!! I would never have thought to cut the coconut fiber mat to fit the patio door threshold and step area...!! It then becomes a kind of step-tread carpet/mat, finished out perfectly so the eye sees all the clear edges and the pragmatic needs of wiping wet paws is alsoa joy to behold...!! Oh, the nesting phase of moving is so much fun. You have all your stuff. You're in the space. You know how it works. And now you can fine-tune. I agree - it's almost thrilling and so satisfying to uncover what the best way to use the new space is. Benita, I've only been to Stockholm once but when I was there I stayed, for a month, with a friend who was renting a house in the Royal park! He called it his Hobbit house - it was a converted small barn that backed into a small hillside. As snug as it sounds and utterly delightful. I wonder if you'll find it on your walks.

Sometimes the process is so mentally and emotionally draining, but these videos help me to envision my life out there and keep me focused on my goal.
That sounds quite stressful. It's not the easiest to get a residence permit here unfortunately.
@@BenitaLarsson The most stressful part is that I have sacrificed a stable home and job here in order to be free of ties and able to visit Sweden easily (for interviews etc). I am very determined though, so just need to keep the goal in focus!

Benita, Putting the customized mat up against the balcony doors is a great idea. It serves as a place to wipe your feet, place wet shoes, a cat scratching mat and it may block any cold air that wants to leak into the apartment. You most likely already thought of this, but in the future, when the mat needs to be replaced, you could use the back of the the old one as a template for cutting the replacement mat. Doing this will save you from having to remeasure.
I’ve had them in all my homes and they’ve lasted me the time I’ve lived there both indoors and out but thank you for the tip!

Nice to see all the things you are doing to your new apartment. Love the bedroom drapes. I too had drapes and then went to blinds and miss my drapes so much. I had the black out drapes from Ikea. When you show us your drapes, can you show us the rod you installed. I am seriously thinking after seeing your drapes to go back to that idea. More cozy for sure. Thanks for the Ikea ideas just to upgrade things a bit. I like your new bathroom vanity handles, mine too, are so old fashioned and like the ones you purchased. Can’t wait to see more. Oh GENIUS...!! I would never have thought to cut the coconut fiber mat to fit the patio door threshold and step area...!! It then becomes a kind of step-tread carpet/mat, finished out perfectly so the eye sees all the clear edges and the pragmatic needs of wiping wet paws is alsoa joy to behold...!! Oh, the nesting phase of moving is so much fun. You have all your stuff. You're in the space. You know how it works. And now you can fine-tune. I agree - it's almost thrilling and so satisfying to uncover what the best way to use the new space is. Benita, I've only been to Stockholm once but when I was there I stayed, for a month, with a friend who was renting a house in the Royal park! He called it his Hobbit house - it was a converted small barn that backed into a small hillside. As snug as it sounds and utterly delightful. I wonder if you'll find it on your walks.
