Bill Paxton was the only man to be killed by a xenomorph, a terminator, and a predator. Enough right there for movie hall of fame.

Thank you so much! You made my day with this comment! I just love watching a film and seeing everything that's on the screen. All the details, all the tangibles and intangibles and how it all comes together. The dialogue might be great but you need it conveyed just the right way by the character, the circumstances surrounding the moment, the music, lighting, sound mixing, etc. It all matters and I can't help but call it out when I see something great.
And yes I agree it's completely okay to show emotion. I know it will happen many more times with more reactions. As you can see, I laugh my ass off, get angry, annoyed, sad, all of it. And I love that films get all of that out of me lol! Thanks so much for watching and commenting! :)

@jessebatres6895 The Alien Series 1 & 2 are the best sci-fi oriented movies. The fact for me is Alien is a classic but Aliens is probably the best sequel to have been made. I've watched it at least 300 times over the years and it stands the test of time and you proved it👍🏽💯 so many times review reaction viewers don't get it or connect the dots but you were in it all the way. Every emotion you had and that's rare! I just had to add on to your comment and more showings.

I have watched numerous Aliens reactions over the years by now. In my opinion this is one of the best films ever made in movie history! And your reaction to it is one of the better! One of the most emotional! And it was out most joy to see your first time reaction to this masterpiece of a film that I have grown up with. You reacted to everything & everybody as Cameron intended. And you understood what you saw & what was going on. Trust me, not everyone does. I also enjoy that you paid attention to the score, it is legendary. And you also, like many other new fans of this film, could see right away that Aliens has stood the the test of time. It still holds up & still outclass today's pathetic films. As another reactor once said; "Aliens put modern films to absolute shame!" I think we all can agree on that. Welcome to the Alien franchise, friend. Now you can prepare yourself for Romulus just around the corner. I can't wait myself.

Thank you so much! I believe that this is the kind of film that stays with you forever. It's just flawlessly executed from start to finish. It's pretty incredible how a film that's nearly 40 years old just complete puts the overwhelming majority of today's films to shame. I would gladly hand my money over hand over fist if most films today were even 25% the quality that this film is. And yes, I can't wait to watch Romulus. Luckily I didn't see any marketing for the film before reacting to these and now I'm avoiding any trailers and marketing because I want to go in completely blind.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

It's worth noting Ferro was probably a veteran Marine pilot, who had been under fire too many times to count. In fact that's one of the things I love about this movie, is how we have female marines serving in the unit and no one has to call attention to it. This is just NORMAL in the USCM to have women serving in your unit, it's nothing exceptional. In fact, I think Hudson's "Mistaken for a man" crack to Vasquez is the only comment on gender in the whole movie.

The photo of Amanda Ripley (Ellen Ripley's daughter) is actually a photo of Elizabeth Inglis. She's the mother of Sigourney Weaver. Which was a brilliant idea so you could see a physical resemblance between the two characters. She unfortunately passed away in 2007.

The one thing about Ripley her character that I love is the yes of course she's a bad ass. But she doesn't need to kick a man's ass to prove she's a strong woman. She doesn't want to be a leader but she can take command when she needs to. What makes Ripley a great character is the people follow her because she uses her mind and experience she strategies even in real life that makes a good leader.

    • @jessebatres6895

I 100% agree with you! It's her leadership skills and ability to stay level headed and focused during such intense and stressful moments that set her apart. I also love how she takes command when necessary, but she also steps back and lets others step up to lead the way as well, like with Hicks. Just an amazing character! Yo subscribing, good job on the reactions! You upload long videos which shows you not scared of editing for demonization lol I know maybe because maybe you are there yet, but I love the long edits. I hate when reactors shred the crap out of their edit and somehow they get a 2 hour movie down to like 20 minutes, like yes i know you want people to go to your patreon but not everyone wants to do that. Keep it up. If you do get a patreon later im down for a 5 dollar option haha. Good luck in the long run hope to see more, maybe some suggestion polls or something too.

    • @jessebatres6895
      @jessebatres6895  Місяць тому

Thanks a lot brother! Yeah it's hard to take out key points of the film that progress the story forward. Sometimes I'm like "damn this is a long video" after I'm done editing it lol! And true at some point I think the channel will qualify for monetization once it hits the amount of hours watched, but I definitely don't want to sacrifice the in-depth videos. I've actually managed to keep them all without any copyrights, which is good. Later down the road I'll have some fun things that will be connected to a Patreon, and I'll definitely have some suggestion polls available. Ultimately, I'm going to do film reviews as well so that should definitely be less risky of videos being demonetized. In the end, this is fun as hell so I get a lot of enjoyment out of it! I really appreciate the support and encouraging words! It means a lot man!

I saw this in the theater the first weekend. (I was sure it would be good, having watched Cameron's The Terminator!) The next week I took my sister and friends to see it (second time for me, of course!). When the ship took off at the end, the couple sitting right in front of me rose to leave!
I said (in an ominous voice), "Sit back down! It's not over yet!" The two half-turned to each other, likely thinking I was the director's insane brother, and lowered themselves back into their seats.
At the end, they turned around and thanked me. Had they left, of course, they would have missed the actual climax.
I informed them that I couldn't let them leave and miss the best part!

Its good youre watching the special edition. It goes into more detail on her extended sleep and what she lost as a result. If you notice, the face-higgets looked bigger in the liquid, but when chasing Ripley and Newt, they appeared smaller. Water will produce that effect.

Fun Facts Time: Counting the Special Edition, no fewer than four members of the cast of Aliens were voice actors on Starfleet, a British made English language version of a Japanese Sci-Fi marionet series, that ran on British TV between 1980 and 1981. Mark Rolston, who played Drake (The big, gruff blonde Marine with the Big Gun) was the voice of the tubby comic relief character. There would also be a rock album inspired by the series, produced in 1982 by Brian May from the band Queen, alongside his good friend Eddie Van Halen, since May's son was a huge fan of the show.

@@jessebatres6895 Then you're going to love these.
Aliens was shot at Pinewood Studios in the UK, where the original Star Wars and the early James Bond movies were shot. A lot of the actors, were locally cast British actors.
The scenes in the atmosphere processor, were shot at a disused power station outside London. After shooting had wrapped on Aliens, the sets they built for the Atmosphere Processor were left in place and two years later were still in very good condition, so when Tim Burton made the 1989 Batman movie, he reused the Atmosphere Processor sets, as the Axis Chemical Factory.

I have, but man I wish I could wipe my memory clean to see it again for the first time! I think later down the road I'll do a "15+ or 20+ year later rewatching" set of videos where I rewatch films I haven't seen since I was a kid, which Predator is one of them. It will be interesting to see how different I feel about many films I watched as a kid compared to now. But when that time comes I'll make sure to make it clear that I'm rewatching films and it's not a first time reaction. I'll never put out a fake reaction because I think that cheats the audience. Sadly, it seems there's a few reactors that take that route, and I'm just like "Ok you're a girl in her 20's/30's and this is the first time you're watching Titanic? Sure okay." lol

the 1980s is when they finally nailed making FX look real! Really shortly after, in the early 90s CGI came out and looked real! The liquid Terminator in T2. The dinosaurs in Jurassic Park. But something happened shortly after where most movies today the CGI is very fake. Rushed? Bad art directors? Who knows. It doesn't help with movies like Fast & Furious where most of the time the cars are CGI.. when a real car could easily do most of what we are seeing on the screen.

I understand CGI is here to stay. However, there should be a nice balance where the really crazy stuff that's basically impossible is CGI, and they should make a strong effort to make everything else practical with real stunts and tangible objects. I hope and pray that at some point get to that fine balance. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

Characters ar amazing but this series is about xenomorphs in the first place. And Alien 3 adds many great ideas to the Alien lore and the creatures. Nowadays all Alien based novels, films, video games, comic stories use these ideas. I used to hate Alien 3 in the past, now I love it as much as the first two. The Alien franchise is an extremely hostile place. I'm surprised some people expected a happy ending. That's not a romantic comedy

I'm sorry, but Alien 3 is an abomination.

      ...
I hate Alien 3 with the burning of a thousand suns. 😂
      (EDIT)
I do agree the series is/was about the Alien.
Trying to keep Ripley/Sigourney relevant was the downfall of the franchise.

The Dark Horse comics from the 90's are EXCELLENT if you're interested in the "rest" of the story in an alternate semi-canon universe. (the Alien and Alien vs Predator sequels/films stole many plot elements.)
