I assume you mean the display. It’s a black and white LCD display typically those work better in bright light, they need backlight when in dim conditions. Which is good because mostly we not filming in dim locations, so the backlight will not be used much. If it’s like any lcd on a camera top display it reads great in fill sunlight.

I just bought one, and it doesn't change any numbers unless I turn it on and off again.
