Nice one Phil! Looks like a lovely day for a play with the RC. It looked to cope pretty well - as you said, trim some plastic off the steering and cut a couple of coils off the springs and it might be as it should have been in the first place! Good luck with the mods mate! :-)
starting to warm towards this now phii after seeing that running video am so on the fence right now let's see what your magic hands can do to this looking forward to the next video phil
know you got my notes last video, if you can peel them from rims get those tires really wet in WD-40 into ziplock bag a day, hand crush them all through the bag(s) every couple hours 4-5 minutes each tire. some cheap shocks about 5 mm longer with soft springs. ditch the weights on the body, wrap the rims with solder and tape (CA to start the wrap) between the tire beads. foam safe glue like used for EPP aircraft building is nice for gluing tires to rims, its a thick rubber cement type stuff that grabs good but still peelable, CA mounting usually rips the tire beads up some when removing them from rims. really DO like how it looks for the price, 15 bucks for cheaper oil filled shocks and 4-5 bucks worth of solder to use for wheel weight might be some great low budget upgrade action.
Yes, there are some simple things you can do to make these cheap trucks perform much better. I'll be playing about with a few things, and there sharing the results.
Not bad for what it is and the price. Certainly a good entry or kids first crawler. As long as people dont think there getting a trx4 copy they shouldn't be left with a bad taste from it. Vent the tyres that will certainly help.
I keep coming back to watch this video well done. price point its great ,I guess for casual offroading it would be good I see there are a few other model I believe a 1/8 scale Double E E101-003 that's about 200 dollars would be a good comparo .
Good price. I'm in the market for my first RC after having watched You Tube vids for a year. I'm subscribed to you, the Kevin Talbt gang, RC Sparks and Scale Town. I want a crawler, a basher, a truggy and a rally car. I may start with this. Hey, you're in the UK? It's beautiful there! Where I live, in Boston (US) in the suburbs, we have similar landscapes, and there's tons of BMX & skate parks. I want to Bash as well as crawl.
I'm in Lincolnshire dude, we have some nice Country parks around here. If you have any 'bashers' there is a decent Skate park & BMX track in Crewe, which isn't far from you.
An avid of your here. I recently got the HB ZP1007 the FJ Cruiser version of this Land Rover and I'm loving it. Just a question if you may, can I use a 2S Lipo battery on the stock electronics of this model. More power to the channel sir.
Fantastic test run, I think once you get your hands on the Mods am sure you will make it Hobby grade, I really like the look and I think it done Quite well, 👍 did you bring the mattress so you could have a lie down 😝 great video bro 👍😁👍
You wouldn´t really have to spend anything to get the steering travel sorted, and most of us probably have an old set of soft Tamiya springs or something which could go onto the existing shocks. It´s odd that HB Toys did 90% if it very well, then fitted a few very wrong components which make it feel toy grade.
Yes, I've already found some softer springs in my spares. But may fit some oil shocks instead. I spent along time in the sand, it was lots of fun! And if I was wearing my wellies, I'd have ventured further in to the bog :)
@@TomleyRC There´s nothing worse then realising that you`re going to have to ditch your shoes and socks to perform a barefoot rescue! I once had to do a rapid strip and swim to save my Graupner Silver Spirit speedboat after it rolled over and began to sink. I got to it just in time!
Del oh yeah.... why I always put styrofoam in the boats! the Graupner Cobra and ElectroVee are now brushless beasts. 5000kv 2840 in the Cobra for 2S, and a 2300kv 3670 in the EV for 4S running. now they're fast enough to be really fun.
@@TomleyRC Seems like a good base for someone buying their first crawler or similar & some low budget mods, like locking the diffs. Better suspension, fixing steering angle, perhaps go with a 2s lipo as well along with a slightly lower turn 540 motor like a crawler 45t motor instead of what I'm guessing is a bog standard 27t or 35t motor.
Remove all the weights, it will reduce flexing the body and replace the schocks with oil filled very soft shocks. Add more steering angle. Maybe this will help hehey
On a normal day i wouldnt say anything but this day is different. I dont know how a manufacturer can get away with cloning something as exact as the trx4. And it doesn't do half as well as a trx4 I can't say I agree with my kids wanting to come out and play with this one if it doesn't steer half as well as a normal RC. I'd be there all day repositioning the RC to steer well waste of time if you ask me. Thx for the effort.
I'm literally crying while watching your amazing video. I guess My dream toy will ever remain as a dream co'z no way I can buy for that thing. i wish I could have one. can you send me one of your used ones please? 😭😭🙏🙏😣😣
Looks like a fun truck as long as its fun no such thing as a bad rc
This car is very powerful!!
Too cool!
Very good 👍💕💕

Thanks again Mark. Gotta make the most of the good UK weather haven't we! haha
Pretty nice driving, man. Really great model! 😃
It definitely deserves the tweaks! 😃
Cheers dude 👍

Great test thing actually had a bit of power

Awesome that will be great so many rc trucks competing for the low end price point I have seen a few vrx redcat in the 200 dollar price.
Looks cool😛
NC MOUNTAINS ❤.👍
Definitely we wan't to see the adjustments and tell us if its easy of how you do that. I must admit you are a good youtuber.
Thanks dude
Nice! Any more with your large metal military truck coming?
I'm hoping to get the HG P802 out again soon, just need somewhere nice to take it.

I gotta start somewhere and this truck is it

Omg where do you live as you have the best areas for running off road
UK dude... 👍

Upgraded tires and suspension and it seems like it would be there as an overlander for sure? Thoughts? Is there an engine break?
Bro can u pls tell how many minutes can we use this continuously??
About 10-15mins I think

Are you planning on upgrading this bad boy in any way?
Yes, I'll sort the suspension and steering out first, then get softer tyres and probably stiffen the chassis 👍
Where we can buy this trx clone bro
Link in the description 👍
@@TomleyRC thanks bro
better choose rgt 136161 or this rc
How long did the battery last?
Hi. Thanks for the video. Would the tires be replacable with other 1/10 size tires? 12mm mount? Thanks
These are a 12mm hex wheel, but have adaptors for the hub's, so as long as the adaptors are kept, you should be good for some 1.9 wheels/tyres
@@TomleyRC Thanks. Liked and subscribed.
Cheers dude 👍
It’s not detailed in the way it off roads ok it coped but there’s no axle movement it just bounces up in the air over bumps

Yes, certainly has some potential. I think the chassis needs strengthening first, and then the mods you have said.

FTX Outlaw might be a better buy ?
Although I would expect it to break easily
is the louder hum noise normal on these when you accelerate to get over things
It seems to be the stock electronics. It doesn’t do it with the upgraded stuff
