Down the road you are looking at a more complex engine to repair and lots of parts that could fail
The cloth seats in the base is the BEST, now if only it had the option of a sunroof/moonroof!

No one spends this kind of money to immediately take off road. Same reason why you usually only see older JK Rubicons or newer Sport model Jeeps off-roading. People only take cheaper things to where they can be damaged easily. This, defenders, hummers and new 75+ dollar Jeeps are all parking lot kings that’ll be offroaded by their second or third owner. If Toyota wants to make an afffordable off roader again, I’m all ears. But this is a joke.
YES we DO spend on new SUVs like this and take them directly off road! Lexus GX460 and GX550 included! 😃

The DIESEL answer ….. Toyota doesn’t make their own diesels and never has, Yanmar makes them and they don’t bow to the emissions crowd. Yanmar is in the states in tractor and marine only. No Yanmar is a shame because they’re outstanding but I’d bet the price tag would be even further staggering.
That front ugly plastic bumper is horrible. What an over priced joke.
