That drone shot at the 21 minute mark with the mountains in the background and vegetation either side of the trail is gorgeous. 👏 There are “professional” car review productions that employ a team of people whose final product cannot hold a candle to this video. Thank you as always, Sarah. 👍👍👍
Thanks! Aside from the drone piloting and exterior driving shots this is 100% filmed/edited/produced by just me.
@@SarahnTuned And it shows - the attention to detail shouts "Sarah" throughout! 🙂
@@SarahnTuned Yup! Part time assistance from Angel. Don’t forget to mention the creativity that goes into these productions and editing graphics is all you. Should you ever tire of putting your body through the abuse you experience creating your content you absolutely could start a video production business. Thank you again, Sarah. 👍👍👍
Remember Car & Driver back in the late 90s or early 2000s? The fact there YT channels producing content that blows what was on TV back then out of the water is 🤯
Was your famous side kick The Super Cake Boy flying that drone Sara? 🤔😁
I know car reviews of everyday vehicles don't get as many views but I appreciate you doing them. I don't need a new Aston Martin but I do need a reliable daily driver.
Hey I need that porche after it's depreciated and it finally affordable
@@calebwany8422 sure it'll be fun for a little while... until it needs repairs! LoL
0:14 - "And go give it the hot soup in the dirt" haha! Thanks as always Sarah - making New Hampshire proud!
it IS something that she actually does a full showing of vehicles and sees things the talking-heads dont. like how the rear drive shaft is steel vs the taco's alum piece. along with REAL numbers on specific bits and parts. thank you for that.
To be fair, in others defense; I’m not a journalist. I’d sound like a moron if I didn’t do things the way I do.
@@SarahnTuned Indeed, your delivery is stilted, carbon copy to a word: "braking is courtesy of so-and-so inch rotors..." The walk under and the "rally" drive are the high points.
Sarah let us know the things read 'J' in the VIN.
Beautiful!!!!
"We don't get the turbodiesel"
Thank you VW for messing things up for everyone.
Also, great camera work. It's better than others with crews of people.
No, VW has nothing to do with it, it is old legislation taxing small diesel platforms at 25% in an effort to protect American truck builders.
@@chele-chele there were small diesels from everyone, the "baby duramax" in the Colorado & Canyon for example.
VW's cheating which resulted in the Dieselgate scandal pretty much killed off small diesels.
Don’t blame VW. It’s the EPA. You can also thank them for us not getting the pickup Toyota sells in other countries that uses a lot of 80’s parts. I believe it’s the Land Cruiser 70.
It was coming, VW just put the deathnail into diseals for cars
It would be hard to name a diesel passenger car manufacturer that did not cheat with emissions. VW was caught first and then the rest were discovered.
I like that it has frame mounted rock rails. Mr T listens (at least a little bit) to the enthusiast market...
I really enjoy your vehicle reviews, Sarah. You have a nice blend of specs vs. subjective findings. Having the lift in the shop is a big help in adding value to the tech review, and your production values are terrific. Yours is one of my favorite channels. Keep up the good work!
Given that it includes that critical feature to control starfish from attacking traffic cones, this looks poised to sell well. The street acceleration and stability on the rally route indicate the suspension tuning and handling are well designed. Let's hope they have corrected the engine problems. Also the LACK of moon roof is a huge plus. I never use them and they are ASTRONOMICALLY expensive to fix if the seal leaks.
Love your sense of humor... 🤣
This is the most comprehensive and best review of this vehicle on the internet 😂 It’s the only one that looks under the vehicle, which is the thing that anyone who knows cars actually cares about. 👍👍 Give that hairy cardboard the hot soup! 😜
Your "Bolstering Assessment" is my favorite part of any of your reviews.
Ya ( • )( • )🤣
I wish toyota would go all in on this in the states I want to see a manual and a 70 series chasis cab version of this
I like the utilitarian lines of this beasty.
Look for a Gen 3 Montero and save yourself $85,000
@@S44BBOI 🤔Mitsubishi 🤔 Toyota
James May would hate this "Ew, plastic! Ew boxy!" but you like it for those reasons because it's functional. I respect you for that.
Wow, omg,I love the rooftop shots with the horizon lock on the rally stage. It really gives a sense of the terrain. Thanks for the content, from reviews to weeks of robot spaghetti, I love it all
Remember when we also got cows in the videos. Those were good cows. Well some were good cows, some were sassy. I miss those cows.
Yes, the cows were great. In one video, Sarah pulled over to help a Gila Monster cross the road until safe.
In general, the reviews Sarah conducts are both informative and entertaining. If anyone is interested in purchasing a vehicle her channel is an excellent source for in-depth information. What would be nice is her getting the opportunity to review more performance based vehicles as I think she gets a kick out of it and the audience does as well. The rally stage is a good example of this.
Great to see proper 4x4 styling back 🎉🎉
One of the great things about your reviews is the nuances in how you describe things on a vehicle. For example, the fact that the suspension on this is great off-road but the tires are a very poor choice for off-roading. Or the way you describe understeer/oversteer happening. I get such a better sense of the vehicle from your reviews. Great job!
Wow Sarah something different about you and I got no complains!! :) just the best channel for car reviews period!
Simp
@@user-yn4cn3el5qI think you meant simD lol
@@quick906 😂😂👍👍
@@quick906I come here for these guys in the comments.
Image on the left at 9:14 is the Diesel motor! Sorry mate, that's just for us Aussies! Bonus fact - The Prado has always been called the "Landcruiser Prado" in Australia however its treated like Anakin Skywalker at the Jedi council, "You are on this Council, but we do not grant you the rank of Master (Landcruiser)"
You don't have the exclusive, the diesel version is sold in many other countries. In some, like Portugal, it's even the only engine available.
@@module79l28 The diesel is the ONLY engine available in Hilux and Landcruiser Prado in Australia and has been for quite a long time.
@@johncanalese588 - And what does that have to do with what I wrote?
19:28 Wait, it’s a haul ass button!? I’m pressing!! Great job as usual!
And again, Miss Sarah’s outfit colour matches the subject of today’s automobile review…I wonder if it’s planned…😂
It takes a very cool person to get tire squeal on dirt.
And there's one of them doing exactly that in this car review.
Just the greatest channel and content creator 🙂♥️
In the Middle East, the 2025 Prado is offered with the 2.7 4 cylinder and 4.0 v6. The USA really needs the 4.0 in a base model for people that value simplicity and long term reliability.
Yes, that would be nice.
Sarah, I love watching your reviews and th builds you are working on.
You keep progress going despite running into issues.
You are doing a great job, and you look amazing!
Keep up the great work, but remember, take a break occasionally so you don't get burned out.
A little bit of "me time" without pressure to get the next video out is refreshing.
The graphics in your videos are top notch. I feel like I'm watching a highly produced video with a huge crew supporting you. Good job!
I had two LC’s in the ‘70’s, FJ40 and FJ55. Both rusted away from Wisconsin road salt. We had a lot of fun while the ran. I put a 350 Chevy in the FJ55.
The way Sarah goes around the hardware checking measurements, I would be fearful of not measuring up ;) Cheers ~~
Notice that she is always measuring the diameter and not the length.😳
This is the Best Review of the Land Cruiser. Congratulations.
Indeed
You are easily besting any other off road reviews you have done in every area of performance, comfort , speed and agility this magnificent machine is so good it even suprised you and your noisy equipment lol
The air vents in the back seat are the air intakes for the cooling system for the hybrid battery. DO NOT BLOCK THOSE!!
Yes everyone knows that who's ever had a prius, well responsible owners. I always had to tell people to clean out the filter and not block those vents LMAO
@@nicholasbabeaux2052 My comment was directed to the young woman giving the presentation, who thought those vents were to keep her tush cool….
The last two minutes of this review were so relaxing.
So much emotional discussion of this vehicle, this is the first meaningful walkthrough of this vehicle I have seen, I like it!
Only someone who has bent their own brake lines would appreciate the factory work! Great review as always!
Yes. The 1GD-FTV turbo diesel is one proven engine compared to the 2.5 and 3.5 liter turbo hybrids. The GD is the engine of the Hilux, Prado, Hiace, Innova, and Fortuner, not to mention the 70 series Land Cruiser. It gets superior fuel economy over the legacy 3.5 2GR-FKS and 4.0 liter 1GR-FE V6s while delivering better torque.
14:55 - you make the message go away by hitting the back button on the steering wheel. that's why there's the icon on top-right of the message popup.
And then it comes right back again, hence why I mentioned it.
@@SarahnTunedyes. Even our 2014 RX will not stop the messages no matter how many times you press the go-away button.
@@SarahnTuned It's like an advert on my computer. I have another Toyota and they share the same code and I find it super annoying.
@@SarahnTuned ugh, must be sooooo annoying! lol
The 2.8L diesel is definitely the right engine for it, most desirable. Glad to get it over all the emissions crap in Europe
Great review, I agree on the price. Toyota is getting crazy with their pricing. Appreciate the humor as well as well.
Been waiting to see this review from you.
You never fail to entertain😂.
The only issue is they put the traction battery in a really stupid location. If you wanted to camp out and use it as a camping generator for some appliances the location makes it hard to put a fridge or anything heavy in the trunk area.
Liking it for something as simple as "Give Us The Diesel!"
I don't get why people are not going crazy about this, the lack of diesels and fuel efficiency in NA. A car like this one should have a Diesel engine, able to get you pretty far and back @10:25
Outfit is rocking it. Perfect choice for the review. Those tires are not much for off-roading.
I always appreciate Sarah's gratuitous supply of information within the graphics and narrative given with each auto review on this amazing channel.
I love a heavy duty double wishbone suspension construction with no leafs.
Tires squealing on dirt just like the early James Bond movies 😊
Haha, yeah. I was surprised that this is even possible. We always laughed when in these 1970's American movies all the cars had their tires squeal on dirt.
Is it because of the road tires? Are off road tires in america softer? Where I live (sweden) summer and winter tires is a thing and when dirt roads get hard as concrete in the summer tires squeals when braking hard. Our summer road tires even less offroad looking. Don't think I've heard winter tires squeal.
Just about everything about the Landcruiser is off-road oriented except the tires. I don't know why this vehicle doesn't have all-terrain tires.

Easy enough to change.
They know vast majority will never see edge of pavement.
Drove an old style FJ-40 for 13 years. No radio, air, carpet, nothing. Loved that thing till it rusted to pieces.
Any new video from Sarah brightens up my day 🙏 always great car reviews. The Euro Land Cruisers look the best, really retro modern style.
Thanks, Darlin'. I SO needed cheering up!
Harry Cardboard?! I went to school with him!
You’re not doing car reviews… you’re doing vehicle evaluations… you are the 🐐 no doubt
Great review. I agree, I'd rather have a Japanese built vehicle too. My now 20 years old Japanese built Toyota suv at over 300,000 miles still has no rattles or squeaks and drives like new.
Hands down the best review on the LC. Pointing out so many IMPORTANT tech items and much more real life driving applications that no other channels have on YT. A+ thanks!
Starfish!! Launch!! Attack cones immediately!! LOL, I love it.
Sarah does it again! Squealing tires in the dirt. I'm glad you're still bringing your penguin friends along for the ride. That's one of the features in your videos that makes them so heartwarming. Keep up the great work.
I liked that you compared this Land Cruiser to the FJ Cruiser.
Those were cool vehicles and this hopefully bridges the gap that vehicle left.
I love the quality of your videos, entertaining and informative. Live for your enthusiasm for mechanics.
Can we get a series of you reviewing all the forerunner generations
I seen lot of car reviews, this one is best i have seen "details" ❤thank you.
That 18:36 vent is for the battery cooling. Liking these more and more.
I've been looking forward to this review. I really like what Toyota has done with this new Landcruiser. The 1958 edition would be the one I choose, just change out the tires.
BTW, at 14:55, the camera operator has awesome taste in sun protection hats
Was thinking about trading in the 4runner for this but ended up with the 5th gen again. I can’t believe how cheaply made the Land Cruiser is. The feel of how light the trunk is gave it away. NOOOO THANK YOU!!!!!😂
WOW!!!! Congratulations Sarah on your success in the car world that is watched on the Internet. I remember watching you day one and had to watch you grow. Keep the work up and have a great time
Hey Sarah, excellent review so glad it is a good vehicle. Also, as luck would have it the forerunner is also made in Japan. speaking of luck no luck with the Land Cruiser Penguin already gone, in my defense the video was up for over a half hour I’ll have to be quicker next time 🙂Have a great one as always.🐧🐧🐧👍
Hope you get your hands on a 2025 4-Runner. Can’t wait! 😊
30 degree dirt approach with street tires no problem is fairly impressive! Cool review. But if that thing breaks in wild in any way whatsoever, say a stream crossing dislikes electricity and batteries, well, it would be hard to get going again. And it’s a Land Cruiser pointed at the wildlands, etc, so that sort of possible system complexity and fragility might be viewed as a bad thing.
Yeah, saw one here the other day with the turbo diesel, no DEF, no drama.
Great video Sarah! Built in Japan is still better than elsewhere…in my personal opinion also! 🥰
My favorite car reviewer, all the info you need delivered an a quirky and fun format.
Stylish, mid-century tweed upholstery on that ejecto seato, cuz.
Great review 🤔 do you measure everything. 🤔
You are hilarious.😎
A proper review requires getting nasty in the vehicle for performance measurements.
love your channel
I can't believe they sent you a new Landcruiser with highway tires on it!?!? What were they thinking!?!? *(update)* I posted that comment the minute I saw the vehicle, only to see that you end up making the same bewildered observation later in the video. I'm glad you agreed with me, Sarah.
Genuinely jazzed about the old school fabric on the seats. I'm also glad to see that manufacturers are offering smaller displacement options for the bigger and more fancy models. I'd do anything for the 2 door version 🤤😵
Play games with the first aid kit was hilarious 🤣
I regret selling my moms ‘72 Landcruiser. That thing was a beast. 4 speed manual, no AC, and an all steel tank of a frame. The only vehicle that I regret not keeping.
Looks like a great off-roader despite the little electronic annoyances. Also Arizona looks like a good place for rally
.. I might be late to the game. ..but regardless of where you came from to who you are.. You're awesome and have one of the best auto content on YT. Keep it up!
I just bought a 2022 GX 460 because it's in Japan. The build quality is exceptional!
Now that you are done reviewing it.
Can I borrow it 😂😂😂
😁
After what you said about the tyres I wasn't expecting it do that well off road, no worries didn't struggle at all, and looked quick on the rally stage.
The quality difference between Japanese built and USA built cars isn't a feeling. it's reality. I've owned several Japanese built cars and have family and friends who bought models from the same brand, but built in America and the fit and finish, attention to detail, etc has always been better on my Japanese built cars. They just care more and it shows.
Another great review, thank you. Looks very similar to the Defender Octa (UK), though that comes with a stonking V8
The 1:6:90 Rule states that the raw materials required to manufacture one battery electric vehicle could alternatively be used to make 6 plug-in hybrid vehicles or 90 traditional hybrid vehicles. (Toyota)
2.7 2tr-fe engine is dead, doesn't move at all. I have a TLC Prado 2005 with this engine. Although, I've driven 200,000 miles with no problems. Extremely reliable, but slow
I believe I am the target audience for that SUV. Exactly the configuration you want. Terrific review and great insight into this vehicle.
I do my best to focus on the stats, specs, and car stuff; but today I have to say it. Great job on the nails!
I compliment you on your choice of music to test the sound system for this review. And the new graphics for the hill climb segment are sweet.
Disable those attacking starfish!! 😂😂
Hi Sarah, A while back on a vid you mentioned a company in Tucson that gave you excellent alignment work.
I cannot seem to find that video. Please what was the name of that facility....Thanks......

Great job on the video Sarah! Thanks for making it.
I want one. This review here and Sarah's no bs thumbs up respect for it... that's exactly what I needed to hear.
Another great review Sarah.
Overseas we wish we had the option to get the gas engine instead of only having the diesel option.
Agree about the safety stuff it gets old real quick having to switch all that stuff off every time you start the vehicle.
