    Rudisha set the record in an Olympic final while front running the whole race, this current crop of 800m runners are amazing but still 0.2 away with both a human and light pacer. Just highlights how crazy Rudisha’s record is

    • @parkerfleischman1852
      @parkerfleischman1852 20 днів тому +4

      To be fair with how close they were to the WR despite the crazy pacing from Wanyoni there I still think he could break the WR without anything and I think the Olympic final showed the potential is there.

    • @alansamuel2454
      @alansamuel2454 20 днів тому

      The light pacing is a massive advantage especially in distances like the 800m where honestly you cannot do too much pacing or calculation or adjustments etc. Once the pacer is out it's all up to you. Seeing those lights really makes a world of a difference.

    • @willienganga
      @willienganga 19 днів тому

      I think after the olympics Arop also mentioned something to do with the new track types as contributing to improvements towards WR. Better shoes plus better track. Otherwise, Rudisha's record would be out of reach for quite some time.

    • @alansamuel2454
      @alansamuel2454 19 днів тому

      @@willienganga It would explain the great performances in the 800, 1500 and 10000m this year. There were like some 9 or something runners under the previous 10000m OR which was no joke by any means. While this might be a reach and I don't want to undermine Hocker but the other three - Jakob, Nuguse and Kerr have proven prior to be fast runners while Hocker was still some distance behind. His 3:27.65 is really no joke.
      While I'm not a scientist, I doubt these benefits would really translate to any significance in the 400m or shorter events so both the 400m men and women's races were just plain fast.

    • @alansamuel2454
      @alansamuel2454 19 днів тому

      @@parkerfleischman1852 Good point. He's legit like a mini Rudisha at the age of 20 it's terrifying. Like 4 times under 1:42 in a single season with each race faster than the other and closing (as of now) at what's the second fastest race ever. And yes I also think he could run it solo.
      The light pacer is just an add on which I think can maybe add on to help him do some crazy time like 1:40.5 a few years down the line. I think he will reach very close to the human limit and I don't really see what else can be improved now considering shoes, track, human pacer, light pacer etc are already top notch. Maybe minute improvements can occur which will help some phenomenal athlete down the road to reach around 1:40.25. It will likely be another Kenyan. 😂

      pacer did his job. It was Arop who made the mistake. As a pacer, you have two options. You either jump to the inside of the track or you drift outside so the runners can stay on the inside and run the least amount. But when there's barriers like here, pacers dont jump in unless they're leading by a lot due to the risk of falling. This pacer chose to drift out and for some reason Arop followed. If Arop just stuck on the inside, this would all be a mute point

Going in to the *3rd lane* for a good 20m on the curve, then moving to the side to let Wanyonyi past AGAIN (really love that from him) makes it all the more impressive. Given that he was only a few meters back on Wanyonyi at the finish, I think he legitimately could have gotten close to 1.41.00, if not broken it here, had he not been forced/chosen (lmao) to go on the outside. seems like the pacer was set to run 500m but couldnt hold the pace, and at the same time as the pacer was tying up and slowing down about to drop out, arop tried to just overtake him when he also realised the guy was slowing down too much, given how arop still ran 1.41.72 despite running a clear extra couple of metres, i wouldn't be surprised at all if he could've gone 1.41.2 again at least if the pacer didn't grief the fuck out of him

    You can see he eases up a couple steps early. Could have been some hundredths faster.

      it's normal for africans in Africa, also due to melanin. he could just not have a healthy liver as well, running long distances numerous times messes up your liver which can cause yellow eyes. Doping doesn't cause yellow eyes.
