Shes a finisher for sure. That young lady got faster and faster as the race went on. She will be a gold medalist someday.
So impressive. My best in college was only 2:09. She has a great future! 👏
Amazing when a young lady comes forward with that kind of performance. She took that race like she owned it. Division 1 schools, you need to talk to this young lady
She came from last place and passed the entire field and he couldn’t mention her name, or even acknowledge she was on the track until after the race finished?
Yeah he absolutely sucked.
Exactly!! Absutely pitiful, shameful!!
AWESOME!!!!! She waited for her time and murked em hard af!! Great stride and kick at the end. This is probably the most grueling event for me.
@Gary Beaton my coach made me train with the cross country in order for me to improve my stamina. I hated it every minute of it 😂😂, but it did help my 800!
Wow the announcer did such a great job. Made it so exciting to watch. LOL
Dear James Knuckles 1655: Thank you.
Amazing at the end he just wanders off to the water table like he’s just been for warm up
This a shock? 2008 Heather Dorniden. Now, that was a shock!
What a beautiful show of athleticism! Bravo, young lady. I hope you continue to get better and compete in the Olympic Games one day.
She did just perfect: hang out at the back of the pack until it's time to win...
According to my calculations, when this baby hits 88mph, you're gonna see some serious shite!
My god the commentator was like - " yeah they just completed some race by the way" what a listless and soulless commentary
That announcer mispronounced her name and basically failed in every imaginable way. He really should find another line of work.
That 20 seconds of dead air after the race started..
Bruh it’s a womens 800m, chill the fuck out
He kept referring to the curve on the track as "the back straightaway".
Doubt thats his day job but who gets paid for this?
Don't be that rud3 mate people.have feelings
This announcer has the situational awareness of the Uvalde police chief.
Dear Billt8504: How did Uvalde get into this?
Running, Something you have to enjoy to do. Either you like doing it or not. Hats off to all the people who do my part.
Yep, hated running from as long as I can remember myself :)
might be the worst commentary I've ever heard, no names on who was leading or contending for the last 2 laps.
also complete silence during the first 200 meters!!!
if that is really an unattached HS freshman out running NCAA talent, she got a bright future
Going from last to first. And that's how the announcer reacts. Lol!
When Sophia took the lead the announcer didn't know who she was and that's why he didn't say anything.
Announcer's last name must be Biden.
@@joecausey8508 You're a shit heel.
Amazing how such little fanfare was heard about something SO ASTOUNDING!!!! THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY CRAZY…a high schooler blowing away a collegiate field. Awesome.
Damn you would not know she is in high school with that overwhelming announcer
She was entered unattached. There are tons of races at these meets. The problem is many states do not allow high school runners to run track with college runners.
To Texas: Howdy! It's a possibility that female high school sports are not exactly the World Series or the World Cup. The announcer's enthusiasm would even be hard to fake. The memory of their names would be evanescent, unnecessary, mind-clogging for diminished avail.
She is 14 years old and has been a speedster since she was in elementary school!
The announcer sounded like he had no clue about the winner. 😂
Dear Fly Vtech04: This is not the Olympics.
@@eddyvideostarI think that’s very obvious. 🤦🏻♂️
In his last job he used to say...
"Can I take your order ?"
🙄😂
And his future job.
I was going to complain about the announcer but see a bunch beat me to it! lol Well raced Sophia!
And that is how you win a race, you race a steady comfortable pace, saving your energy, and then the last lap you put on the afterburners.
No, she was lucky. It's very rare to win from the back.
This young lady has track n field in her genes .Congrats to you on an excellent performance
Hang out at the back of the pack until it's time to win...
"If you win, we will get pizza on the way home" *comeback music starts to play*
The runner number to watch for are 6 or 2302
I love watching great runners running, especially youth athletics, and when the underdog comes out first.
I wish, however that the posters of the videos, would indicate who the title of the video is about. Katelyn Touhy I could always find because of her distinctive flow of her hair, that I could recognize on the 3rd race that I saw. I haven't seen many Grace Ping, but she, like Sophia was beating much older runners as well.
Good on her. All the best from New Zealand.
She's a freshman. Just don't burn her out too soon with too many races.
@BR Goodie You clearly know very little about track. The list of high school phenoms that don't go beyond high school is LONG.
BR Goodie it ALWAYS happens especially when it comes to the young ladies. However, a lot has made the mistake by going pro
@BR Goodie you either are not a serious runner or not a runner at all, disgraceful.
BR Goodie sounds like you have never ran track at a high level. College endurance runners have the highest rates of burnout of any athletes I know.
@@hlubkojzoonyob9091 Ooh, that's not a nice thing to type.
After much viewing, reviewing and technical analysis of this video my team and I can only conclude that a girl won this race. Jus Sayin!. (Future champion there congrats).
To Medull: Ok.
"Girls are running. They're running fast. Fast, faster, and fastest. Some faster than others. Running. Lots of running [...]"
It seems almost as if you are the fastest you get to break a piece of tape.
Sounds like the president became an announcer.
Boy did you make up a story here.
@@PrimeSuperboy Which one, Clinton? He would be distracted too, possessing the highest concupiscence of any president -- combined!
@@eddyvideostar honden en paarden.honden en paarden
The 880 (half-mile) is a pure gut race, very impressive to come from last to first in any race, more so this than others...
That was really beautiful to watch. It seems the announcer was napping. When someone takes over the lead, regardless of who it is, how can the announcer announce the colors a runner is wearing and not who the new lead is?
Dang ran the first 200m wayyyy in the back, what a pro, I wonder what her splits were...
@cyoungrun1 oh yeah and that's the best way to do it! All about those even splits!
Abe Ott never heard of a negative split...
@@Gifdr haha yeah they can be pretty hard to come by... especially in an 800 lol
cyoungrun1 cheers Geoff... I think we all knew that
cyoungrun1 That why is hard to overcome in a 800m you need to be mentally strong or slow 1st lap. Srry bud you didn’t understand right.
Announcer: "Boom goes the dynamite."
I learned so much from that announcer.
The announcer just wanted to be at home watching football
The announcer sounds like Dawn Lazarus from SNL giving the weather forecast - HAP. 😂😂😂
I like to picture racecar sounds as they pass by
Electrifying commentary
Electrocuted Commentry !!
Hold on a minute. I have some paint drying that I need to check-on. Wouldn’t want to miss any of this, after all.
Literal silence from the announcer at the end😂😂
Quite possibly the most impressive win in the history of ever.
This what happens when you beleive in yourself💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Real announcer"Hey Buddy, I gotta go take a leak.......here (hand MIC to guy standing on the sidelines)".
Thank goodness
she finished well... but did the announcer make it home?
