Well captain drone, I’ve just been watching some other Reviews of drones, sorry, but let me tell you, YOU come out on tops with me, you’re presentation, information and knowledge of all subjects reviewed are the best, no bull, no crap, what you see is what you get and I like that a lot, keep on flying, thanks.
The video quality is actually good when the drone is not flying. I think the company should have added electronic stabilization instead of 4k capability.
Bought this for my "first drone" based on this and several reviews. Very professional videos, quality and content 10/10. The main allure of this drone the weight to price. I could get way more drone for the same price, but not
PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: DJI owns the under 250 gram camera drone market with the DJI Mavic Mini. Currently the only other camera drone under 250 grams with brushless motors and a useable camera (if there is no wind) is the BUGS 7. This is the reality of the 250 gram camera drone market.
Your video and a few others I’ve watched show the WiFi FPV feed (to the phone display) die at roughly 400 meters. However, I’ve seen other videos where the WiFi FPV feed dies at roughly 180-200 meters. Why is there so much of a difference? Thanks for your time, your vids are the best.
@@CG-px9qd The answer is due to the PHONE being used and where the drone is flown. Not all phones have good WIFI (most don't) so if your phone sucks in the wifi department you'll get no range. Also, some phones are terrible unless the case is taken off. Finally, where you fly plays a big part due to interference.
I agree with paul martin Thanks Captain Drone. I have ordered one. It has advaantages for me 1 - No heads mode. 2 - Controlle screen 3 cost..All better than Mavic Mini (For me). I plan mainly still images but your advice in video is great. Many Thanks. Pd have watche yor other reviews as well.
The Bugs 7 reminds me of my old Holy Stone HS700. No 3 axis gimbal. However likes the Bugs. If you don't want to spend $1000 for a more sophisticated drone. Then these type of drones are still great for fun. I think the Bugs still took some good photos/videos for anyone just starting out,. Also it's not as painful if you crash it as with a $1000 drone. As always - Good Job Cap't
I bought the MJX Bugs 7 yesterday after they said they had run out of Hubsan Zino stock and there's a back order for at least 12wks but they think not until the end of the year. I mainly bought it for still photos anyway and it turns out to be a great little drone that's compact and good build quality. I'm very happy with it overall despite 3 axis gimbal like the Zino.
Saw one of these on FaceBook marketplace. Glad I watched this first. Video is so so , but for $75, might be a good starter drone. Thanks for another great video!
Can you not retire to watch this channel? ' course the more i watch, the more it bothers me that no one has drones. all this time a was just a loyal audience. Thank you for CAPTAIN DRONE channel for all his reviews. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
As always, thanks Cap! The shaking in wind is what convinced me to move on from my Bugs b4w. With the B7 and the B4 4k at about the same price, it is only the mini size and weight where the B7 wins.
Hi Steve, I like the way you review drones, by letting us the viewers to decide if we like the footage & other aspects of the product This is for me one of the top reasons watching your chanel. Great job. Thank you.
I am still happy I paid extra for my Mavic Mini, god damn that little thing is a beast. People are shocked that something that looks like a toy delivers such awesome video quality. And yes, the MM is limited at 2.7k but for me, the extra money lies in being able to Shoot 60fps at 1920x1080 to give you those ultra smooth slow videos and to have more confidence in flying further.
I have a wall full of theses Budget Drones and had a lot of fun with every single one of them. I don’t like DJI for there ways but there products are Excellent. The Mavic Mini is one of the very best Drones ever made. I would suggest to anyone looking for there first Drone just save your money and get the Mini.
I watch all of your videos and always great information you give from watching your videos I have bought some of them as like the Bugs 4w ,the H73, and the JJRC PRO and others but I cant afford any of the DJI drones ,keep up with your great videos ,captain your are TOPS .
The video is very nice and crispy but the movements are bad. Is it possible to stabilize them in postproduction? By-The-Way, what is your 1st. best Cam Drone under 250g if this is the 2nd best?
DJI MAVIC MINI is #1 and this is #2 because there are no great drones under 250 grams. You could stabilize the video in post production easily. Also, if there is no wind, the video is much smoother.
Love Bugs drones. For the price and what you get, they are awesome. Camera photos looked great and once again impressed with the distance. Nice one Steve.
This may get dethroned by the new Eachine EX5 for sub 250g sub $200. 1km range, 30 mins fly and controllable camera. Hope you'll review it when it becomes available.
Honestly for under $200 try finding a camera with that quality, let alone one that flies.... it’s obviously not a mavic pro, but anyone doing anything professional that needs better video can cough up $400 for the mini
I was actually going to order this drone from bang hood but decided on an fob tracked truck just like the one you reviewed not long ago.Now that I see what it is like and isn’t to bad at all I may just pick it up for my collection.Nice video captain.I am hoping to one day have as many subscribers as you do now,my channel is close to a year old and we are now closing In on 600 Subscribers And we are giving away a eachine e58 once we reach 1000.We want to show that we appreciate our viewers just like you do.Another great review by the way.
Outstanding vid! I have a question though. Which drone would you recommend more if all the features amazingly enough worked, this or the eachine E520S?
Nice video very informative. When setting up the GPS does the light change colors to let you know it you have done it right like the other Bugs? FYI after the Bugs 5 why would they make a Quad that the camera will not move?
Spoke to the guys at MJX Bugs, and they will have gimbal drones later this year, early next year 2021. Cannot not say if they will be 2/3 axis. We will have to wait and see,but imagine 2 axis to start with.
Hi Steve. Great review again. You get what you pay with this drone. It looks decent enough for starters i think. to bad they did not add any stabilisation of any kind. You make very great video's, always waiting on the next one, your the Drone Captain. I am greatfull that you make them for us, so we know what we can get when we go out /order them. Keep up the amazingnes .
Captain drone, please...Can you do another video on ZLRC SG906 PRO ? It would be nice to see that again in this nicer weather...😃😊. Nice videos, btw....
We're my 2 choices in the end have ordered a bugs 7, even though no gimble u don't need to register it just waiting for it to come now if you have not bought one yet I would advise go for the sg906 pro 2 as it has 3 axis and pretty much costs the same. dreading no stabilisation on the bugs 7 hopefully its still OK with less wind👍
Another helpful review, thank you. One suggestion is that you tell us which video source you're showing as samples - from sd card or via wifi. In many videos it doesn't seem clear where the video / image is coming from. cheers
I'm hoping it is obvious. If you see me standing as a dot, then it is from the drone camera. If you see me standing as a dot and all around the screen are icons, then it is my phone screen.
For the money it looks a great little drone, MJX have a pretty decent budget pedigree, I have quite a few, the picture quality looks spot on, probably the same electronics as the 5 series however I would have thought by now some stabilisation would have been added, maybe 2 axis gimbal or maybe some e.i.s but alas - maybe a version 2 in the wings ? I suppose it is down to the bean counters - just how far do you push it before bordering on next grade up from toy. I would have thought MJX would have been chasing the Zino and Fimi A3 market by now - maybe later this year? Richard. Yorkshire. England.
It’s a promising drone by MJX but with some obvious limitations in terms of video quality, stabilization and of course the issue with the overall transmission range- both vertically and horizontally. BUT, it does make me think that MJX has something better in the works coming soon. Maybe a B7 Pro version with a 3-axis gimbal and improved range capabilities perhaps? Who knows... As always, great video review. ❤️👍🏻
This is good for photo, but for video, without gimbal or stabilization, is better to forget it. Thanks for this review. To bad, no equivalent of mavic mini is available yet.
I think sensibly about this drone that for 140Euro when the transmitter has a range of 400m and a 4K camera takes quite nice pictures and I especially appreciate Brushless AC motors, which never wear out, the battery lasts 12 minutes of flight, which could be better at least 20 minutes of flight ... But ok. So I say that it is a good drone for fun and beginners as well as children. It's a good buying option for beginners. It's cheap. And I want to write to you, Lord, that you are a very energetic and positive person.
Very good review Steve, I enjoyed it very much. Just one minor thing I’d like to point out is that the drone will fly great with your phone but control and video will be greatly reduced.
Just ordered one yesterday 😁 glad I did 😁 looks good to me for the price it will be one of my first one's as I order the JjRCx11 also . great video as always 👍
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 thank you very much I hope so too 😁 been doing RC car's for a while but I'm keen to take up on drones ! And your Chanel has been great helping me on what to get ! cheers
Hey Steve! Thank you so much for helping me try to find the right drone but yesterday we got robbed so I can no longer afford a drone but I really appreciate your help.
The difference is size and the fact that you have to register the SG906. The BUGS 7 is pretty much take it out of the box and go fly and not worry too much about the government.
This drone flew in the wind in this video. Drones don't flip over or fall out of the sky in wind. The rule with a drone and wind is that you never fly in wind that is blowing faster than the forward speed of the drone.
If the weight wasn't an issue would you take this over the Beast Pro as a starter drone for some basic photography? Both seem around the same cost to me in Canada. I feel like I'm landing around these two. Not sure I'd take the bugs 4W over the 7 (they are awful similar in price as well) and the Eachine ex4 scares me with the lemon reviews. I watched the low costs drone video but this Bugs 7 is too new. Would it make your list if revised?
What an interesting drone. The figure is a little similar to the Mavic Air 1. But she flies well and have few features that the Mini doesnt. 4K video...extra bonus. Anyway thanks Capt Drone for the good review.
Thanks, your reviews have helped me a tonne! Was planning on a Mavic Mini as my first but then decided something less expensive would be better. This video helped me to decide on the Bugs 7. I just went to get it from Banggood but then found out how scammy they are. The advertised price is " CA $180" but when you go to checkout the price changes to the US-converted equivalent, almost 300 CA. Just a heads up.
Nice review! Just got mine, shaky video and sadly the drone did not record to the SD card; the video is saved only in my mobile phone at 720p.. Why is that? I've used a 64GB Sandisk formatted to FAT32
But are they folding, compact drones under 250 grams with brushless motors, 5G wifi and onboard microSD recording? I'm amazed at what it already offers for the price. I looked at a lot of sub-$200 drones and ran up against brushed motors or no SD card recording capability or no GPS navigation and so on. This is the only one I found with most of the features I wanted in this price range. Is there another that's better that I am unaware of? Please inform me if so. I'd love to see it.
The MJXRC Bugs 7 looks like the darker version of the Holy Stone HS510, even the controller and app look the same. Are both manufactured at the same factory?
Bought this as my first drone, don't care about the camera, is not my priority, I just want to fly. 33 years ago my hobby was rc planes, loved it, but I had to stop the hobby. Now after 33 years I'm picking up the hobby again and bought this little drone. Now the only question that I have is, when I connect my Xiaomi Mi Mix2S phone ( 802.11ac ) with the drone, then I see in the wifi search drone4- and some letters and numbers and when I connect to it, I only have a wifi4 at 300mbs connection and not the wifi5 5G, does this mean that the drone support 5G but only with wifi4?
Great review. Really like your style of pros and cons. Not so great video from the Bugs7. For a beginners drone it would be most pleasant if prop protectors were included.
On Amazon, the description says the camera angle can be manually adjusted, from 120 degrees, to 90 degrees. Does it do that? That would get rid of the fisheye effect.
I’m going to throw in an unrelated comment. Did you know you can put the mavic mini into return to home mode and as it flies the straight line path you still have full yaw control? Point it any direction and it still flies the return path. I was surprised by this.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I hope they come out with a Bugs7 / HS510 with a 3-axis gimbal. By far, this is the best budget pocket drone for me. And i'll be even better if with a 3-axis gimbal.
I am a beginner drone pilot and have a question for The Captain. I have purchased a ZLRC SG906 Beast and would like to know where I can download a copy of the User Manual. The manual that came with the drone is too small for someone my age to read. I have watched your review of this drone and learned from it but I need to read the instructions as my brain has memory limitations. Thanks
There would be no such thing as a user manual due to the drone being a low cost drone. Low cost means no frills and no manual other than what is included. Is there something you don't understand or need an answer to?
Thank you Captain. I solved the problem by scanning the manual, enlarging the image, taking a screen-shot and printing it. There is always a solution even for old folks.
It's interesting that even though you are trying your best to be as neutral as possible, your naturally positive personality is definitely having an effect on the review. I like that about your style, but I just hope it doesn't mean some people end up wasting money on crappy drones when they would've been better off saving up for a while instead to get something better.
These drones sell, and the sell for exactly 100% the reason clearly stated in the video... You only have so much cash, you do not wish to invest in a DJI drone because you don't know if you like drones, and you don't want to register your drone.
I wonder if those antennas are real on the controller. I found that on the cheaper drones they are fake and they have a small dipole wire hot glued inside. I know for a fact that the holy stone hs700d has fake antennas and has two weights at the bottom of the transmitter as well. Great video once again!

The 7 would make the list due to it being the only low cost drone under 250 grams with brushless motors besides the Mavic Mini
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 thanks! I'm trying to find my stepping stone quad instead of just jumping straight to a Mini.
Just bought the Mavic Mini instead. Ha!
For drone video, I would not consider anything less than 1080p at 60 fps acceptable.
Another helpful review. Thank you Captain!
What an interesting drone. The figure is a little similar to the Mavic Air 1. But she flies well and have few features that the Mini doesnt. 4K video...extra bonus. Anyway thanks Capt Drone for the good review.
Hi, thanks for the great review. I wonder if the Holy Stone HS510 drone is just a rebranded Bugs7?
It usually is
Thanks, your reviews have helped me a tonne!
Go to eBay.
@@CG-px9qd Got a Tello Boost kit for 100 CDN locally instead. :)
Nice review! Just got mine, shaky video and sadly the drone did not record to the SD card; the video is saved only in my mobile phone at 720p.. Why is that? I've used a 64GB Sandisk formatted to FAT32
Figured that out.... the spec says 32GB max. Used a 32GB U10 card and it works: 1440p 25fps @12.5Mbps, 2160p 16.7fps @13Mbps
Which one I have to buy. SG906 PRO (beast) or JJRC X9P or MJX B4W 4K or JJRC X12. There are so may.
Look for a drone with BRUSHLESS motors and a camera GIMBAL.
i think mjx is playing safe, other drone manufacturers has already axis gimbal at the same price point of Bugs. Good review Cap.
Am I right in thinking 2.5k is the lowest resolution for video? Would decent video software allow cropping in to 1080 and correcting for the movement?
Yes, very easy.
The MJXRC Bugs 7 looks like the darker version of the Holy Stone HS510, even the controller and app look the same. Are both manufactured at the same factory?
Is it similar to the holy stone 510, Excellent presentation by the way as always, Tone.
Thank you
Bought this as my first drone, don't care about the camera, is not my priority, I just want to fly.
I'm not familiar with that phone so I can't help
Although I’m not buying this, I still enjoyed the video. Great presentation as always.👍
I believe so
Are you still going to show the air 2. With its landing lights. ?
I’m going to throw in an unrelated comment. Did you know you can put the mavic mini into return to home mode and as it flies the straight line path you still have full yaw control? Point it any direction and it still flies the return path. I was surprised by this.
If this is the 2nd best budget camera drone under 250gr., which one is the 1st?
And is this the same as the Holy Stone E510?
At the time of this vid, the DJI MAVIC MINI was the first. It is an older vid.
Wow capt great review am happy tough I was able to get the Mavic mini
awsome review as always captain.
Thank you kindly
Real talks no play 💯
Great review, as said a good alternative if you can’t afford a mini.. Mini is streets ahead though ..
Thanks for the video; I’ll take a stabilised 1080p image over 2.5/4K any day.
Captain whats the fpv like? Do you have to have a 5g phone or is this just the transmission?
Hey, could you do a video about the apps you use for your drones and which ones you'd recommend?
I only use the APP that comes with each drone.
Always watch this in between movies the adverts are great
I wonder if those antennas are real on the controller. I found that on the cheaper drones they are fake and they have a small dipole wire hot glued inside. I know for a fact that the holy stone hs700d has fake antennas and has two weights at the bottom of the transmitter as well. Great video once again!
Antennas are for show on most budget drone controllers.
hmm . I should take one of these to our trip to Cuba. They really don't allow drones , but I could just tell them its the new ipad .
