    In the prior hearing they lost parental rights to at least 1 if not more kids.. she ran off to Louisiana to give birth to the child in this court hearing, so that Texas CPS couldn't take this child. @@LawTalkWithMike I get that, but seems the interests of the child would be better served to be fostered in Louisiana. Texas clearly wanted to terminate rights entirely- they still need to consider the child over their own very apparent hostility. Clearly there is a lot of baggage in this case.
      - I guess I would feel better if I knew the background. Are they lying to avoid CPS because CPS is targeting them for living in a “red tagged” house? Or are they lying because they know CPS is legit taking kid for valid reasons- like failing tox screens during pregnancy. I want to know these things! Lol. Texas is notorious for having corrupt CPS workers. But of course, many of them are professional. The hostility of the state gives me pause.

    While I’m on a rant, one thing this channel has taught me, the courts aren’t unfair as often as people think. There’s some imbalance at times but people aren’t just getting raw deals every day just for the fun of it. People like this actually get over on the court and taxpayers more than they should.

      Go watch any trial of someone who’s innocent - they get a totally raw deal. An old man defended himself in Florida and got 6 months in jail plus 10 years of house arrest before trial. Judges repeatedly pretended he was guilty and it took a jury trial to let him out.

    • @gatsby66
      @gatsby66 2 роки тому +6

      @@streetracer2321 That anecdote doesn't prove he was "innocent"; it only indicates a jury found him "not guilty." Big difference. O.J. Simpson was found not guilty, not "innocent," yet most sentient beings know he was guilty - and he's acknowledged as much, in a passive-aggressive way, in his book.

    • @streetracer2321

    • @leea8706
      @leea8706 2 роки тому +2

      I totally get what you’re saying, but these ‘deals’ actually seem like a terrible idea to me. It incentivises people who are actually innocent to take a plea deal in case they are found guilty at trial (not impossible at all, in fact likely) and get the book thrown at them. It also means that prosecutors can overcharge in order to make a plea deal seem more reasonable. It almost exclusively benefits the state rather than those accused of a crime.
      I don’t think they’re as common here in the UK thank goodness.

      The poor children are always the true victims in these cases 😢 It breaks my heart. I know I don’t know all of the circumstances/details in these cases and I shouldn’t be judgmental, I try not to be…but I usually end up feeling pretty angry at the parents by the time the videos are over. How selfish does one have to be to do this kinda stuff to their own flesh and blood?! Smh. So, so self centered! Sorry, there I go, judging…but I just had to say it. These kind of people really bother me! Take good care of your children or please do not have any (or anymore) children!

      I noticed Judge Middleton does the same thing, using first names on the record for attorneys and probation officers. He requires standard court decorum, even more so than some other judges, so this always seems odd.

    I love you showing some of our KS judges! Although I live in Overland Park KS now, I used to live in Kansas City, KS after I moved from Chicago. Nobody ever shows there for jury summons, so I ended up getting called every year. I sat on 2 Civil cases, was Foreperson on a Quad homicide, and sat on a Triple homicide. Good times! Rural KS has some VERY interesting cases.
