- Have always wanted a full white setup but white gaming monitors are SO HARD to find? Or if not, they are always ridiculously expensive..
Researched alot and the only options are to spraypaint (i can't spraypaint for goodness' sake), hand-paint it, or to vinyl wrap it. Twitch chat told me NOT to paint it, so vinyl wrap it is!
Got a few questions on how I did it, so in case you guys missed my stream on that, I kept one set of monitor arm + monitor screen for my vlog. Disclaimer: Not a professional at cutting / stickers etc so my lines are not very clean, but it works for me and i'm happy with it!

okay... so to anyone who is still thinking of doing decals on their monitor, especially for thin bezzled monitors where no tape can really stick. edge banding tape should work best. its a kind of tape that has this tiny overlap which easily covers the bezzles and sits snuggly on the monitor. the tape is strong but also easily removable if you wanna switch out colors. this will only help with the frame of the monitor and not the stand or the back of the monitor.

I recommend this on thin bezzled monitors because vinyl might not really stick on such a small awkward surfaces. the edge banding is like a tape you can loop in at least the 3 sides of your monitor depending on how the monitor is constructed. edge banding tape is thicker and matte, but it helps easily hide the thin bezzles of the monitor plus changing the overall color. you can definitely use both if you intend a full decal since the edge banding merely hides the 4 sides of the monitor.
I think it looks better because it doesn't look added at all

This is great! Glad to see it was quite simple to do, I was honestly worried about having to wrap the whole thing, but like you said there's no need if you can't actually see the back of your monitors! I'm switching to an all-white setup so I can't wait to do this for my monitors. :D

I like this a lot, It's a lot less messy and risky than using spary paint and the finishing looks better
For the monitor, yes it's safe. But the monitor arms could be easily spray painted..

omg thank you so much for this video!! I wish I had found it before buying my monitor clamp cause it's slowly destroying my desk... that and I want a prettier desk that really cannot handle a clamp. I saw people talking negatively about painting their monitors, so I went the clamp route, but I'm SO excited to get rid of mine and wrap my monitor!!!!

Did you use a heat gun on the vinyl? Would a hair dryer work? Also do you have any advice for measuring depth? You did a great job!
I used hair dryer on my iPad using 3M vinyl.
I dont have a heat gun so I just used a hair dryer. It works too! Measuring depth wise.. maybe a flexible measuring tape might be good? Thank you!

I have been using vinyl wrap on car body and trim parts for a few years, so watching this showed she has never worked with vinyl wrap before. All those lifted edges could be avoided if she were to use a heat gun and gently warm the vinyl, making it pull tight, and stretching it while working it into the edges with the precision edge tools.
Would the heat gun be safe to use when wrapping the monitor. The electric components wouldn't get damaged?
@@MrGAMERSVID only if you hold the heat gun in one place and intentionally damage it.

Would it be more efficient if a heating device might be used? Efficient in the meaning of a clean applying without bubbles. :)
Yes definitely. I didnt have a heating device so i just used my hair dryer

I didnt used any specific brand. I just went onto Carousell to look for any seller selling Vinyl stickers. You can also easily find them on Shopee / Lazada

lol take it apart and paint it, the wrap job is trash tbh and takes longer, godforbit you slip and cut the screen

Depends on the vinyl. For this brand of vinyl, a heat gun is not necessary
Yes my vinyl wrap is still staying intact very nicely. No air bubbles or anything! Doesnt peel!

I think she wanted to do that for save option and also in case she wants to change or sell the monitor id she get a new one for free or out of her money buying
way to time consuming, looks bad, and you need to be way to precise and heavy chance to fuck up... there needs to be better ways to wrap/color or change the screen....
