Sad to say, the family sold the restaurant chain to a private equity fund in 2015, who came up with a sale-leaseback scheme (in my layperson's eyes), resulting in nonpayment of well over 4 million dollars. That same fund (I believe it is NNN Reit?), owns the property, and has been evicting the restaurants en-mass for the past couple of months. The equipment has been selling within days of closure, which is why I think the plan was to close and part out the restaurants since the purchase. Almost every Frisch's in Greater Cincinnati is now gone, including the Mainliner. The workers get no warning, just a pink slip and a boot out the door. Right before Christmas. Pray for their families. It's sad seeing what I thought would always be part of Cincinnati pop culture disappear.
I worked at Frisch's Big Boy here in Indianapolis, Indiana., when I was a teenager back in the 60's, it was my first real job, I actually worked at two of them. I also met my future wife there. To this day, I have never tasted a double cheeseburger better than Frisch's Big Boy, that taste was truly original. 🍔😊👍
It's truly sad that the company has gone down, and closing stores left and right. Dream St in Florence, their Dining room leaders are going on drug runs out the back door. Management knew and did nothing about it because they were All in a close knit. Someone should look into it 🤔😔..
This place is a big waypoint on the Flying Pig Marathon course. You have to make it here by a certain time. If you don’t make it you get bussed across the highway.
They used to have Frisch's big boy in Florida but they went out of business :( why do some big boy statues have a tall hamburger in his hand and other big boy statues a short hamburger?
When I went to Cincinnati I ate at a Frisch’s and I told them that’s not a Big Boy Burger! They put tartar sauce instead of mayo! Their tartar sauce is very good, great on fish and chips. But not on a burger.! at least the red relish was the same

NNN Reit is a retail company. National Restaurant Development Capital (NRD) is the one who bought Frisch's before the Cincinnati managers fought back.
When I was a kid in the late 1960’s we’d go to a Big Boy drive-in in Downers Grove, IL near Chicago. Better than McDonalds!
