I agree with the description.. I will also add that the main character's proportions are all over the place. The low number of animation frames make him look even worse.. especially the unmoving torso and incorrectly attached legs.
i like the graphics plus the original becomes enhanced and much more appreciated your the type that orders a bigmac then the next day you wonder why do your chicken nuggets not taste like your bigmac? because its not the same thing you wanted 5 years of streetfighter 2 thats what you really need

I feel like this one was called Nastar Warrior (Rastan Saga) in my area. While the graphics might be considered better, the music and gameplay seem so much like a step back in quality.
There was a third game that had a choice of three characters:Rastan, a thief and a balanced character. It was because of this game’s poor showing that it didn’t get an appearance in most arcades. If you have MAME though, you might be able to play it.
I beat the first and third Rastan games at the start of this year and had a blast with them, but I knew the second one was terrible so I didn't touch it, this is my first time seeing it in action and....wow, it's worse than I could ever have imagined. Why is Rastan so slow, what are these odd hazards (floating electric clouds, giant centipedes that fly around randomly and THE GIANT STONE DUDE THAT APPEARS ONLY ONCE), what the hell are those creepy voices saying ("anti-cronell"....? That' my best guess) and why does the game look worse than the first one?
Why Taito just WHY?!!! One of the best games of the era and you have us two (one which is Terrible this one) disjointed games that don’t feel like the original at all. All we wanted was the same visual aesthetic as the first game with some more variation in levels, enemies and bosses with maybe. Little new variation in gameplay! Why? That could have and should have been amazing. What happened ? Perhaps we can get one today maybe. 2.5 D like Bloodstained?!

I have that game on my PlayStation 2 in a compilation called TAITO LEGENDS 2. It is as good as the original prequel RASTAN. Also, you can play a 2-player mode with a friend 😺👍🕹️🕹️.
This looks, moves and plays so much worse than the first Rastan. Maybe I am in minority but I never liked the 'bigger bolder slower" sequels to such games. Example: I much prefer first Golden Axe to all the sequels. It has this charm that others don't IMHO.
This game was the HUGEST disappointment of my genesis childhood. As a kid, I had one game to buy for Christmas, and the box art faked me real good. I realised my mistake the moment the game began, with the horrible music loudly played on top of the bright and colorful world. What am I playing, Adventure Island? Then when the character started to walk, I almost laughed. His cross leg walking style was pathetic, but even more pathetic was his walking speed.. and that single artwork for jump is ridiculously lazy. The only good thing about this game was the claws weapon, but only when he 'scratches' upwards, cuz other than that, it looks dumb af to say the least. Stay away from this game at all cost.

I had the Genesis version (bargain priced) but never realized they actually made an arcade version... looks similar and that's not a good thing.
