I haven't finished the video yet, but your girlfriend getting shot by your uncle in the darkness better be here. Bonus points because Jackie is the only video game character I've ever seen commit suicide
The Darkness is underappreciated in general. The Hell level is one of the most butt-clenchingly unnerving things I've ever seen in a game, horror or otherwise.
U.S. Army soldier here, the Humvee armored windows can withstand quite a bit of punishment from regular rounds, including surviving for a while under the heavier 7.62 round. Breaking it is NOT easy. Although there are latches that enable you to pop it open in case of emergency, try thinking straight while set on fire.
How about that one security guard in SCP contaminant breach, who is murdered by SCP-096 because we see simply couldn't open the door because of SCP-079
The Darkness was so damn good, but I don't understand why they did the glass thing there. In the comics, Jackie gets a video tape delivered to him showing Jenny's execution. That level of helplessness is truly harrowing. The sudden realization that this horrible thing happened while Jackie was totally oblivious drove him to blow himself up.
I love how in Black Ops 3, even though the teams have dealt with GAS MURDERING PEOPLE... They don't have gas masks. Yet in Stargate SG-1 they always carry a standard gas mask for biological outbreaks and gas attacks, along with nifty sticks of some sort of crumbly stuff they smear on their hands. Difference between good writing and bad writing xd
If you ever do a Commenter’s Edition for the video where you listed times where video games take creative liberties with historical figures, I nominate every historical figure in any of the Warriors games set in a historical setting (the Three Kingdoms Era in Dynasty Warriors, the Sengoku Jidai in Samurai Warriors, and the Hundred Years War in Bladestorm).
I'd put George Washington and Abraham Lincoln from the Conduit 2 on that list as well. Unless they really were both Space Marines... or whatever they were.
Wait wait wait... you're telling me things like a giant paint brush and a flute were not considered viable weapons of war back then?? That simply can't be true

The Fallout 3 one you actually can’t save him even if was in the room. :c I had a save where I managed to get into the room cause the air lock hadn’t locked yet and killed the guys before they killed him then he dropped dead anyways. Was a sad day when I thought I had finally beaten that evil glass.
...what the hell is going on, why does this video refuse to play at all??????!!!!!! (I opened another video and it worked perfectly, so my computer suddenly just refused to play this one...)
You do have to remember that in a lot of "important" places (such as army bases and prisons) they have bulletproof glass (I think) which can be very hard to break through (I hope).
i was really expecting someone to mention barbara's hallucinogenic death in batman arkham knight!! that shit really got me and i was like "nah no way she's dead!!" which was later a huge relief
Maybe in assassin’s creed syndicate when I think it was in sequence 4 when you were in the hospital or asylum. So you are trying to find the target who is a sadistic doctor. Then you see him through a window with a blood hand mark in it. Common the character have a pistol, he could just simply shoot the doctor from there and the mission was over.
Cynistrelle Cadrelle however when you kill him in the correct way you expose yourself to everyone in the room and the guards began to chase you. The point is that they saw Jacob’s face and it was 19th century.
I always thought it would be cool to make a game where you could save these kinds of characters and they'd end up helping you later on as thanks. I know it's supposed to show the power of the monster but I really hate watching some low-level trooper just trying to do his job die some horrific death while I can't do anything. I mean I'm supposed to be the hero for Pete's sake!
Well the glass on the military vehicle is understandable. It’s usually outfitted with bulletproof glass so the fact that he could even crack it as much as he did with a shovel is impressive in its own right since it would take a large amount of force to even put a crack in it.
Here are YOUR suggestions of the in-game tragedies you were helpless to prevent, thanks to our old foe glass (curse you, glass). Enjoy!

Been on enough psych wards to tell you the glass there can't be broken with furniture being smashed into it.
Which side of the glass were you on?
When I heard the title of the video the first thing I thought of was the man burning in BO2, glad it got included
I can think of a few more also from Dead Space. That game was just brutal for people who have a fear of not being able to help other people who need help but are trapped behind glass. It’s called Ohnocanthelpaphobia, it’s more common than you think.
Who was that mysterious stranger doing the Black Ops entry? Will anything about his identity ever be revealed beyond the enigmatic codename "Mike Channell"?
Great video :)
Btw, have you ever thought about a "7 Weakling Enemies In Video Games That Could Easily Kill Us In Real Life" list?
Sándor Jenei Item 1: wolves
Headcrabs in HL2, common infected in L4D, and maybe Turrets from Portal
Water in real life usually doesn't kill you when you touch it (just when you try to breathe it)
Grunts from Halo. They may be midgets with virgin rage compared to Master Chief, but those buggers are roughly 4-foot something, and hot plasma doesn’t exactly do wonders on exposed skin.
Sándor Jenei grunts from halo.
Loved that Faith No More reference!
Ellen-Hang on, Arkham Origins? Never heard of it.
-It was the prequel to Asylum? The one set at Christmas?
Ellen-Nope.
-The one without Mark Hamill...
Ellen-I SAID, NOPE.
Literally died laughing at this exchange rofl
Yeah, she's right. There's no arkham games without Mark Hamill. There just aren't. But there was a chance for her to save my character and similar named child in fallout 4. But, she was unable to break a glass. So, I died. Doesnt mean I hate her though. It was Bethesda's fault for letting their employees, who are crazy people, work there and shoot me.
No mention of these videos ending? It's behind glass of the screen and it's tragic when they end.
It is ok. One day we will rescue them from their glass screen prison
jokerhalo1 I say we start planning now
Difficult K9 Now, I have been for years, Eldritch gods won't work, nothing works
Still have no idea why the soldiers in Tesla power armour died before the two guys wearing absolutely no radiation protection. Also I was certain at the end someone was going to appear behind Ellen with a knife 😂
General guy used experimental anty-rad and father...
I'm glad to see Oxtra taking a crack at glass in order to shatter its status in games! It can be a real pane when you have to look in the mirror! I bet that cut deep!
that scene in b01 was really memorable i have not played the game in a good 4 years but that scene was the one i clearly remember
Well the burning man in b02 was behind bulletproof glass
I got to this video faster then normal. My UA-cam won’t even play it. Great job Xtra you broke my UA-cam.
The ending of the video implies that are true enemy isn’t glass, but its master Mimes!
Glass is not the Enemy it’s the writers... Looks at HL2 EP2 🙄
Must be Pierre the Mime King from the excellent No One Lives Forever 2. Look up “NOLF2 tricycle chase” sometime. It’s a damn shame that we’ll never get another one of those games. Hell, or even a rerelease on gog.com. Stupid lawyers...
Now you've made me want to play N.O.L.F 1 again.
The Black Ops deaths made sense, a those windows were bulletproof/toughened and takes smth big to break easily
The doctor that duped you in Alien: Isolation. Right before he thought he was getting out. Teach him right.
PS guess I should wait next time
I haven't finished the video yet, but your girlfriend getting shot by your uncle in the darkness better be here. Bonus points because Jackie is the only video game character I've ever seen commit suicide
lucky guess
The Darkness is underappreciated in general. The Hell level is one of the most butt-clenchingly unnerving things I've ever seen in a game, horror or otherwise.
Zakhaevs son in Cod?
I always wanted to take Famine home and make him fat and happy
@@commentercommentypants7904 agreed 😂
Yeah burning to death will activate the primal survival instincts so the latches will be far from your mind also thanks for serving this great country
Sticks and stones may break my bones what glass will always do worse to me.
How about that one security guard in SCP contaminant breach, who is murdered by SCP-096 because we see simply couldn't open the door because of
SCP-079
Yeah, poor gaurd
God dammit 079
The Darkness was so damn good, but I don't understand why they did the glass thing there. In the comics, Jackie gets a video tape delivered to him showing Jenny's execution. That level of helplessness is truly harrowing. The sudden realization that this horrible thing happened while Jackie was totally oblivious drove him to blow himself up.
Yeah, I totally got those Faith No More references! xD
Romulan Spy this is their second video about liquidsand.
Shit Disney writing
Nova six since its a nerve agent absorbes throuvh the skin as well.
If your not in MOPP gear in 9 seconds your fucked.
Yeah right or theirs gas mask outside the room for the workers
@@thecoolnerdplaysvr5674 no wonder Hudson wears a hazmad suit I didn't know that
7 Times Hell Wasn't Quite What We Expected
What about Bulletstorm Where Doc Dies While Healing Ishi
Lmao spoilers for lego star wars
Really? Glass
If they do that vid they should just put the Warriors series as a whole as one item. Otherwise it would probably be most of the list.
Wait wait wait... you're telling me things like a giant paint brush and a flute were not considered viable weapons of war back then?? That simply can't be true
Kyle Buehne
That’s what I meant. It’s just not all Warriors games have historical settings so that entry should be limited to the three I mentioned.

😆😆😆
Glass has Ellen cursing like a sailor
Didn't you know? Glass killed Ellens mother.
Also Ellen’s Father
Rrally hotly sand.
Apparently glass also killed their UA-cam ad revenue.
I didn't know thats how they died
Batman couldn't catch a break when he came to Microsoft Windows either.
Lol, this is exactly what I was thinking as well when she was talking about batman!
The LEGO star wars one made sense. Everything in LEGO is the same material, no wonder you couldn't break it.
the beginning of fallout 4
Well you couldnt do shit threw that tiny window.
There was *a little bit more* against you than just the glass wievport
Do a "7 Times You Became the Hero Because Antagonist"
Because then you could put in Fallout 3 & 4, and Elder Scrolls Oblivion, Skyrim, and Online
Aww, I'm sure Jill will be devastated that she's not being invited to play shuffleboard on the OX Boat.
She's the captain....
They'll need her when they can't find the keys to their suitcases.
I would Love to take her place! 😎
im sure they will need her when they need to unlock things....
now do a video about tragedies that could have been prevented if only there was no cutscene. We could have saved John Marston and killed all of those guys, if it were up to us
Open Kram Assassins Creed Unity too, the game even lets you run so you have the illusion you can save Elise
But they just kill her and make you miserable for the rest of the game
The Fallout 3 one you actually can’t save him even if was in the room. :c
I had a save where I managed to get into the room cause the air lock hadn’t locked yet and killed the guys before they killed him then he dropped dead anyways. Was a sad day when I thought I had finally beaten that evil glass.
What about bioshock with atlas “family” when the Atlas is so close to his kids
Ellen explanation of what happens when you get sucked out into space is my spirt animal.
...what the hell is going on, why does this video refuse to play at all??????!!!!!!
(I opened another video and it worked perfectly, so my computer suddenly just refused to play this one...)
Same here.
Same
Yup, me too!
Same
same I don't know why
Don't mention windows to Batman, he still hasn't got over the Arkham Knight PC port.
They should start making cellphone screens from Video Game Glass, then they would never break
Alejandro Escobar you are supposed to kill him without being noticed 🤨
Cynistrelle Cadrelle however when you kill him in the correct way you expose yourself to everyone in the room and the guards began to chase you. The point is that they saw Jacob’s face and it was 19th century.
You might call it our most paneful failure
Dimitri's death got me right in the feels.
Demon eel tendrils? Now that's what I call a Midlife Crisis.
WHEATLEY BEING ATTACKED BY A BIRD IN PORTAL2
He shooed it away.
@@hudsondzc Yeah, you're right, he survived, he didn't die
What about that one time Luke turned into a zombie in the dlc for the OX Box spin-off?
0:10 that’s some nostalgia right there!
THANK YOU for all the Faith No More references!! (Yes, even 5 years later)
*sees lego star wars* excuse me what?
It's OK Luke. There may not be too many of us, but you're not the only Faith No More fan.
When Ellen was muted I thought my phone broke xD
Outside Xtra new to the channel and am admittedly a PS user, but you guys are great! Rock on 🤙
Well the glass on the military vehicle is understandable. It’s usually outfitted with bulletproof glass so the fact that he could even crack it as much as he did with a shovel is impressive in its own right since it would take a large amount of force to even put a crack in it.
