Good interview. He was not kissing ass, he was asking thoughtful questions and De Niro appreciated that. Thats why he answered, something he doesn't usually do

I love and admire Robert De Niro so much 😃😊. He is one of my favorite actors ever ! I love A Bronx Tale and he did a phenomenal job directing it and playing Lorenzo ,the father of Calogero ” C ” 😊.
Mr.DeNiro always fascinates me with his knowledge of what he wants to creat whether acting or Directing. I would like to see him Direct more films no matter the genre. Thank you. Bobby.
Class. Both fellas, real class. Great to see De Niro talk frankly and openly about the roots of A BRONX TALE and paying tribute to Chazz Palminteri, who wrote the play that the movie is based on. DeNiro has a natural, authentic intensity to him that no doubt has a lot to do with his incredible success as an actor. Most cool what both men say here about the real heroes in this world, working men (and of course, by extension, working people). Thanks, reelrave.
It's a shame this didn't get nominated for any academy awards, especially considering the critical acclaim it has gathered over the years: 96% on rotten tomatoes, 80 on metacitic and even Roger Ebert gave it 4/4....the Academy are a joke
Chazz refused to sell the script unless he could write the screenplay n play Sonny. By then he turned down several studios n was widely circulated he was tough to deal with. Hence this all played against him.
I watched that movie in the early 90is. Twice in the cinema. Another 4 times since then. I still find it great. Sony is my my favorite Character. Chazz plays him perfectly
Love you De Niro. A Big shout out to Lil Italy/Belmont in the Bronx. It's great that you used the real street too. The exterior scenes were real. That's why it's one of my favorite films. It takes me back on a tour of that area of NY (Bx) that is in my past.

But a Biker gang riding around The Bronx, at this time doesn't work. And no one has ever mentioned.....it couldn't happen.

let him kiss hiss ass he deserves it, de niro is arguably one of the best actors of all time and definately the best of our lifetime hes up there with dusty hoffman, bradd pitt, daniel day lewis etc. just an outstanding actor this guy is great
One excellent movie. Whenever you have any movie actor stealing the limelight from deNiro, as Chazz Palmentieri does, it's a guaranteed smash hit. Thankfully deNiro didn't drink the Koolaid like Jim Carrey does before his interview.
Yeah, I also noticed that change, but I don't think it was a big deal to De Niro, especially under the circumstances of him being concentrated on the interview and trying to give his best answers (which always seems like the hardest part for him, since he is a shy and introverted person). And yeah I don't think he is such a diva anyway to be offended by this.
All along the watchtower being played right before the Molotov cocktail scene being done by the people who portrayed the most racism in the movie I feel like made his friends the most hypocritical than any other character throughout the whole movie. It was almost a cherry on top.

I loved and admired this actor for many years. Throughout his career he made classics such as Mean Streets, The Deer Hunter, Godfather 2 , Raging Bull, Casino, Cape Fear; Goodfellas, A Bronx Tale Heat and the Untouchables. All classics and all hard earned. But now he seems determined in destroying his legacy by starring in crap such as Righteous Kill, Hide and Seek, Dirty Grandpa, The Bagman, Freelancers and the Irish man to name a few.
