Like literally ever thats one role that can't ever be remade even close to being any good , thats how legendary & iconic Boris Karloff & his make up literally was😂 When u close ur eyes at night & think about the Frankenstein monster since the very day u discovered him as a lil child wether u are 5 years old or 80 years old, u literally only see Boris Karloffs Frankenstein monsters face in ur head when u close ur eyes , u don't see De Niro or Christopher Lee or anyone else regardless if u actually seen any of the actual original films ,or not it doesn't even matter , u automatically picture Karloffs face & make up !!! Man can't blame DeNiro after making this film with Branagh. I think he wasn't particularly enthuasiastic about his potrayal and performance in the film, also because he abviously didn't have a good experience with Branagh and the team. This was probably also the reason why he didn't particularly feel like giving this interview and visibly bored the had to relucantly answer this woman's question.
Never heard that De Niro and Branagh did not get on making the picture. I know that others were not pleased with Branagh and the final product (and how it was received at the time) but never that De Niro had a problem with it.

After this interview De Niro will have had to do another one with a different station. Then another one, for a magazine. Then another one for a radio station. & so on & so on. Plus the red carpet premiere, autograph signing, camera flashes & photos for various publications / papparazzi. It never ends. They get asked the same questions repeatedly, feel pressured to be entertaining (even though they're tired) & would much rather be doing something else. Also, here they have to appear publicly in front of a camera as themselves, NOT a character. Awkward & invasive for some of them. Newer actors achieving success early in their careers seem to embrace doing these interviews more. The older, more seasoned ones like De Niro just look like they'd rather be chewing a wasp. lol.

I believe the movie is one of the most accurate adaptations from Mary Shelley's book and De Niro was outstanding as the creature.
